We have had a service agreement with B&W heating & cooling, and they recently merged/acquired Homesense Heating and Cooling. Their response time was very good and their communication about the technician and arrival time was excellent! I am very pleased with their service.

Homesense is a friendly, skilled and affordable HVAC provider. They cleaned my ducts and dryer vent at my house and my daughter's house. They got the job done efficiently. We added their HVAC maintenance service too.

Sales side needs some love. Technical issues kept them from replying for 5 days. Had to reach back out to them myself. They were super cool on the phone and got me set up with a sales guy immediately which was great. Sales guy comes out, is in the house for maybe 10min and bounces. Tells me he can’t get the work done for another 5 days. He’d email me a quote later. Then….gone. Weird encounter for sure. Maybe the guy had bigger fish to fry that day but I certainly left the meeting feeling a way and deciding that they weren’t getting the work regardless of estimate. Called Hope Plumbing/Service Plus. Had a guy out within an hour, great presentation and walk thru, agreed on pricing and package and had everything done the next day at a slightly better price and with a few more bells and whistles on the warrantee side.

I didn’t want to write this but some Brian guy won’t stop blowing up my inbox/texts asking for reviews. So there’s mine. I’m leaving 5 star because I don’t believe my experience necessitates a bad score on top of a poor written review. Stuff happens.

I do only hear great things about you guys in general so I don’t want my stars messing up your rating. Hopefully the review helps in some way.

    All the best

Homesense is the best! I have many rentals in Indianapolis and they are my “go to”—always less expensive and quick to get to the job especially in emergencies. Many times other heating companies have given me bad news and high prices but Homesense has often found the real solution and many times it’s been something much simpler. They could’ve taken advantage but they never do. I would not hesitate to recommend Homesense and will continue to use them as my heating and cooling specialists.

Homesense was the company that was contracted by my builder when we built our new house. The entire project was riddled with issues. The duct lines were haphazardly run throughout the basement, the placed the furnace in a location that makes it impossible to fully open the door to the utility room despite the fact that the utility room is the size of 2 bedrooms. We discovered tears in the duct work. We pointed this out and the yet the repairs were never made. The AC unit that they installed was defective and sounded like the blades were hitting the encasement. It took 3 visits before they were able to address the issue though it was never fully resolved. The thermostats installed were basic at best and does not compliment a house at this price point. The location of the thermostat were poorly located making it impossible to open the case to replace the batteries. I had an opportunity to speak to the owner during the project and he was helpful in answering my questions about how they decide what size of HVAC unit was needed in the house. Other than that I do not have anything positive to say about this company. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Homesense installed my furnace and a/c a couple months ago. Process was easy. The quote was sent within hours after the initial visit, follow-up questions over the phone were very helpful and installation went smoothly for me. System works great so far and fits my needs. Thank you Brady, Chuck, Zach, Ben and the rest of your team!

As a first time homeowner with an unexpected HVAC issue right after close, we’re so happy we went with Homesense. I had a lot of questions and they were patient, understanding, and so clearly had our best interests in mind long term. The process was easy and we got so much good guidance and care. Would 100% use Homesense again. Special thanks to Darren, Chuck, and Brady for giving us peace of mind!

Homesense was a joy to work with from quote through install. Drew worked hard to understand our needs and get us a good quote and prompt timeline for the work. We felt heard and well informed through the 3 day install and removal process and cannot thank Andy and Ben enough for their thorough and beautiful work.
We have a small ~1,100 SF Bungalow and had the entire central heating and air removed and a 4 head mini split system installed. The system is clean (no forced air!), efficient, quiet and does not take up much room at all. We love it so far and I can highly recommend working with Homesense for your heating and cooling needs!. They are our local neighbors and treated us as such!
If you haven't looked into a mini split system for your small home or additions, garage, workshop etc. take the opportunity to investigate this heating and cooling solution.

Today we had a service visit from HomeSense and I can't say enough great things about them - communication was wonderful and the technician was one of the best that I've ever had with any home service - respectful, helpful, willing to answer my questions, and more. If you need HVAC services - definitely call them. Highly recommend. Thanks HomeSense.

Homesense added a mini split to our converted attic space/closet. From initial contact, to quote, to install day, they were prompt, professional, friendly, and efficient. We really enjoyed our experience with them and have found an HVAC partner for the future. Highly recommend!

Worst HVAC provider in the Indianapolis area. I had them here a year and a half ago. They did over $4K of work on my HVAC and the 3 things they "fixed" all broke in the last week. Their solution? Pay them again to replace an 8 year old furnace system. They apparently do not know how to do diagnostic or root cause analysis - they just replace parts and only provide a one year warranty. The GM Brady and Chuck the "service" manager are condescending, unfamiliar with their customers and have no accountability for their work. I was going to go through the new furnace today. The techs arrived and I overheard Chuck, the "service" manager, yelling through his employee's phone insulting me and being rude to their employees. I cancelled the work to avoid having to deal with them anymore.

Two years ago, the first and, until now, only review I ever wrote was to give Efficient Systems a glowing five-star testimonial. Since then, the head manager, Rob, has left. With his departure most of the talent left as well. I found this all out on my last, and I do mean last, maintenance visit. As part of the service plan I paid for, they come out once a year to service my water heater and HVAC unit. Although several upsetting things happened on this "routine" visit (the water heater flush forced me to go get my water tested because they implied my water softer might have broken <not true>, and they actually installed an outside light upside down. Swear to God. Upside down!), I think the following example illustrates best what kind of company they are now.

The air conditioner was working as intended when the very affable technician came over to service it. When he was done, the air conditioner just wouldn't stop. It got down to 54° inside before I had to turn it off all together. Hey, accidents happen. I wasn't worried. When they came back out to fix it, I was charged over $1,000. The new manager explained that "equipment breaks". He maintained vehemently that it was pure coincidence that everthing was fine before their visit and a freezing arctic afterwards.

Two years ago I wrote, "I use Efficient Systems because I don't know anything about plumbing or electrical work. I do know about customer service, and theirs is outstanding. In addition to their reasonable pricing, you won't find a company that cares more about keeping their customers happy." Sadly, those days are gone.

    Updated Review: 9/2020
TL;DR Great value, providing relatively affordable access to superior solutions; courteous and knowledgeable technicians; peace of mind.

I recently noticed that my conventional gas water heater was leaking. The previous owner told me it was eight years old, and I confirmed it was the tank itself, so I needed a replacement. Since I had some time, I got a couple of quotes. Full disclosure, I have an annual maintenance contract with Efficient Systems; I like knowing I can rely on them. Nevertheless, it is always a good idea to get more than one quote. I contacted a competitor whose number was waaay more for the exact same services and products.

So I felt really good about going with Efficient Systems pricewise. I had gotten quotes from both parties for a straight replacement and a tankless option. Given the advantages and the fact that the total cost for the tankless wasn't crazy expensive, I opted for the tankless.

This was a very involved installation, but the technicians handled it was aplomb. They were very communicative with our household and each other. The end result is a super clean, space saving, and efficient solution. It just screams professionalism. The unit is performing really well, and I have to say I never thought I'd be delighted by a water heater.

So, yeah, I have zero regrets, and let me tell you that is a rare thing these days. I have had, I think, six or seven people from Efficient Systems at my house, and to a man they've been consummate professionals. If you have tried hiring skilled and semi-skilled people in the last few years, I think you will appreciate what I am saying.

I have never had a more positive experience with any professional working on my home. Joshua and Sean were consummate professionals, and I feel confident in recommending Efficient Systems to anyone. My needs were very particular, and together they designed and executed a great solution at a fair price.

What I liked about my technician, Josh B.:
    1. Prompt
    2. Courteous
    3. Knowledgeable
    4. Honest
    5. In particular he kept me informed & updated throughout the maintenance service.

I think I’ll stick with Efficient Systems, Inc. I like the way I was treated from the front office(Heather)to the field service provider(Josh). Really nice!! 👍👍👍👍

Adam came today and installed 2 new light fixtures. The cost was quite reasonable. I usually change my own light fixtures but we had a super old fixture with a pull chain over our bathroom vanity. Adam said it would be about $300 to get in the attic and run a wire for a new switch. I asked if he could just make the new light a pull chain instead and he was willing. He did a great job and did not harm the new fixture in any way. I couldn't be happier!

Outstanding customer service! Outstanding workmanship! Ourstanding follow up! Can not say enough positive things about John New and the Efficient Systems Team came through like champs during a stressful holiday season. John and the ES Crew were immediately on top correcting a broken furnace which led to frozen pipes and faulty water lines soaking our downstairs. All issues were corrected with a quickness (installed new furnace and corrected water leaks) Will recommend at every opportunity. Thank you John New! Thank you Efficient Systems!

Adam arrived early and was patiently waiting for me. He quickly diagnosed a sneaky plumbing problem which had plagued previous companies/ plumbers. It turned out to be a simple fix. Whew! Time will tell if there was something more major going on. But I will call Efficient Systems again regardless.

Mitchell did a great job today at my house. I had multiple projects that had already been diagnosed on a previous visit few days prior. He was thorough and patient and spent time explaining everything he did so I would understand what was going on. Or at least try to! I appreciate his hard work.

Had these guys stop by to get a quote on updating electrical panel. Think the guys name was John. Quick write up on the spot... No running back to his vehicle to gather prices; had everything he needed to get stuff done. Price was very reasonable. I like these guys. Would definitely recommend.

Dustin arrived on time and did a thorough inspection of our furnace and heating system. He was friendly and efficient (thus the name of the company). I would happily recommend Efficient Systems to all in the future. They have provided service for our HVAC needs for the past few years. We are pleased with their attention to detail and professionalism.
