HVAC reviews in Plainfield, Indiana

We have had great service since switching to Bassett from another big company (I will be nice and not name names). They are always kind and available, and have been able to get people out the same week for work. Our most recent experience was HvAc maintenance with Austin R. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He even took the time to help brainstorm some ways to help even out our heating. Great company and very pleased with them!

Was able to fit me in in short notice. My membership covered the price of the maintenance tune up. Austin, my technician, was very nice and friendly. I feel like he did a good job and was thorough in his explanations. He was also very understanding of my cat not giving him personal space! Lol

We called due to a toilet not flushing. Got told we needed to redo the piping in the basement and a new vent. Guys came out and left a huge mess in the basement and didn’t even do the vent the first time they came to do the job and tried to say they did. They sent someone a second time out to review the work of the guys and sure enough they didn’t install the vent. They did the vent and got the toilet to flush one time and said you are set. Mind this is 4 visits in totaling including the original estimate. Also put a new hole in our brand new flooring we just remodeled 3 months prior. We had to go purchase a plug for the hole. Their reasoning was the line “usually runs on the other side”. They did give a discount for the issues and having to take off 3 days of work just to get the job half way right but one week later toilet is back to not working. Thankfully we had another bathroom because of the length of time it took to get this done. Long story short, $6323.34 later and original issue still isn’t solved. Also, if they try to send a guy named Manuel to your service go ahead and ask for a new one before he gets there. Mess is still in the basement, they just threw the old piping in the crawl space. They keep sending messages asking for a review, well here it is. And as far as the messages asking for a referral, will not be referring anyone. We just want the issue fixed for the price we’ve already paid.

Pricey... And I HATE that you really cant negotiate...
HOWEVER - I have used thema couple times now and they have done ALL the heating, AC, ductwork, and now the Mini Split we just had put in...
And I gotta say... I just dont think we'd go anywhere else..
Mike was the installer for our Mini Split (not the one they sent to sell it).
It was $9K for what an HVAC friend of mine told me would be upwards of $12K.. so THAT was a pleasant surprise...
So when I heard the $9K - THEN the warranty...
I couldn't say no...
And while I was disappointed they sent a child (very young dude) to sell it to us... The guy who installed it was a BEAST...
Mike was AWESOME!!!!!!!! So was "new guy" (Mikes errand boy).
Mike made up for every issue I have had so far and then some, even restored my faith in contractors to a certain extent.
I WISH they would have just sent Mike from the start... I woulda pulled the trigger the same day had it been a grown aas man who KNEW what he was doing rather than the young guy they sent to deal with it in the first stages of it.
My family has been thru a LOT the last few months... I'd recommend Basset to anyone, but I would also recommend they get their sales teams and strategies in better shape.
And the "3 service offers" trick they use to try and bump you is more of an insult then it is a help on their end in my opinion...
It just shuts down the possibilities of negotiating and left me feeling like even IF we wanted another PART of the other services offered, it wouldnt be worth going back thru the hassle to make it happen, I'd just be more comfortable talking to someone who COULD make the split decisions should I have wanted to.
Long story short - I'd just prefer to be able to negotiate "this for that" and mix and match what I need vs. them just showing us 3 options to choose from and leaving it closed off at the end.
Having them be able to call a manager and approve or disapprove certain things gives a sort of more comfortable approach to the customer as they feel they have some options outside of the "3 square" thing they're currently doing...
Just my professional opinion after spending over 15 years in sales doing $100K deals almost daily...
Excitement sells - and I didn't get excited by these guys IN THE LEAST when they came for the "sales" end of things.
Felt like a burden than a service call.
But - 5 stars overall... The Electrician guy is professional, Matt, I like him...
But Mike is the ALL STAR.
ASK FOR MIKE. THATS THE GUY. <3
Much love!!!!!!
**Mini split is on the far wall above the windows... VERY clean and professional install.
Thanks Mike!!!! -
We had an alarm go off that there was ignition failure on our furnace. Called Bassett and they had a Technician come first thing. Freddie Sergent was excellent!!! He was knowledgeable, experienced, explained everything, friendly, polite, and respectful. He found that one of the sensors needed a thorough cleaning. He did that and performed a complete diagnostic test to check out everything on our furnace. If we can, the next time we have any furnace issues, I would like to request Freddie if possible. You have an exceptional employee working for your company in Freddie Sergent. Thank you Bassett Services, Suzanne Williams (on behalf of Cristal Anderson)

Great company. We’ve done business with Bassett for over 20 yrs. Always nice techs taking care of our system. We really enjoyed our service tech Freddie today. He was friendly and listened closely to my concerns. He was very thorough on looking into our situation. My husband and I truly enjoyed the great customer Freddie provided. I highly recommend.

I had Bassett back out to install another light over my dining table. Dylan did a great job! Bassett was out the next day and Dylan got the job done quickly and cleaned up well. My first experience was great and now I can add that they’re consistently a high quality experience. Thanks again!

This was not a good experience for me
They did not do a thorough assessment of the problem which led to me fixing it on my own
I would like a refund for the $300 service plan I signed up for because I do not wish to have this company out again. I would appreciate hearing from a manager to cancel the $300 service plan I signed up for as I did not have a good experience with my furnace repair . The tech yesterday watched me repair it myself she stated due to the rule she could not assist. You guys wanted to charge me more money and they were talking about cutting into pipes I took apart the tube from the furnace I borrowed a neighbors leaf blower and I blew out the nest which was causing the problem it was literally that simple
I was quoted another $250 for someone to come back out I had your technicians come out about three or four times and they just kept diagnosing the same problem I was charged $300 for a new pressure switch. The problem was a blockage that simply needed to be blown out I got up on a ladder with a shop vac by myself and then I put the furnace back together by myself
I was out of heat for two weeks the first time the part was shipped to Ohio. I do not wish to do any business with your company again replacing a perfectly good pressure switch instead of addressing the underlying problem which was a blockage. My furnace is working fine now no thanks to any of your technicians P -
We recently had a new heat pump and air handler installed, along with an upgraded main electrical panel and outside meter box.
The heat pump and A/C installation went flawlessly. The technicians were knowledgeable, pleasant, and respectful. They arrived promptly at 8 a.m. as scheduled and immediately got to work, completing the job in approximately eight hours. We were very impressed with both their professionalism and efficiency.
The electrical panel and meter box installation, however, presented several challenges and took about 12 hours to complete. During the process, our hot tub experienced a blown breaker, and we had a power surge that damaged several light bulbs, LED lights, our coffee pot, and a security camera. A technician returned the following Monday and restored power to the hot tub, and someone contacted us regarding reimbursement for the coffee pot.
After things settled, I took a closer look at the panel installation and noticed a breaker was covered and the panel cover was off-center and not properly aligned with the breakers. The panel is now recessed to the depth of the studs, leaving exposed drywall on both sides. The cutout around the panel is larger than expected, with approximately five inches exposed at both the top and bottom. The outside meter box is now in a slightly different location and the wood that was used to support the riser is not treated and exposed to the weather. I am now left with painting and attempting a patch repair of the siding. (I was unaware that this is the homeowner’s responsibility)
Edwin, a tech was sent out at the next available appointment and did improve the installation from how it was originally left. We were very impressed with Edwin and his electrical knowledge along with the HVAC installation team. However, in my opinion, the electrical panel installation still did not meet the same level of professionalism. I have yet to receive reimbursement for the coffee pot (hope to see it soon) and will consider the remaining damaged items a loss.
Overall, while the HVAC team and Edwin were excellent, the electrical portion of the project fell short of expectations. -
Basset Services came to our home on December 5th, 2025 to install a tankless water heater. Unfortunately, they did not put down any protective covering for our carpet, and one of the technicians did not wear protective booties despite the wet and muddy conditions. As a result, mud was tracked throughout our carpets.
A few days later, their Customer Experience Manager, Euel, contacted me to discuss the situation. I provided photos showing the mud and dirt brought into our home, and he informed me that management approved professional carpet cleaning. I was told a cleaning company would reach out to schedule service.
I never heard from the cleaning company. I followed up multiple times with Euel via email with no response. I then called and spoke with another Basset representative who scheduled a cleaning for January 29th, but the company was a no-show. When I attempted to call back, I received no response and the voicemail box was full.
There seems to be a disconnnect with the cleaning service being used.
I have been patient, especially considering the holidays, and have given Basset Services multiple opportunities to resolve this. I am posting this review in hopes that management becomes aware and takes responsibility.
This experience has been extremely frustrating. I would advise other customers to ensure their flooring is protected, as Basset Services may not take the necessary precautions or follow through when issues arise.
As of 2/24/26 No one from Basset has reached out to discuss though their comment says they will.
As of 2/26/26 Someone from Basset reached out to me and we discussed options for getting my carpet cleaned. -
I had a standard tune up scheduled and was lucky enough to have Demetrius assigned. Demetrius thoroughly checked the heater and took the time to answer all my questions. He was also able to educate me on a filter issue that could have been problematic down the road had he not pointed it out to me. I was very impressed with his customer service

Scheduling was simple and ARS was able to supply a same day appointment. Steven Todd was very helpful and was not rushed when I posed multiple questions. We had to reschedule due to access but I was not inconvenienced.

I asked when i called if they had a 100 snake to bring into the house they daid yes. They only had a 75 ft snake. Told us that we need the camera man to come and look at it. Becuase he only had 2 snakes on his truck . We wanted 6 more hr for him to show up. He said his camera wanted fit. And then told us it would be $5000- 6500 to fix the problem. And he never even looked that my system. I will never use them again

The repair technician that came to assess our water heater was very helpful. Unfortunately it couldn’t be repaired the same day. But that’s life.
He was able to come on Monday and get it done. -
They showed up at the early end of the window that they were supposed to be there. Called me ahead of time as promised. Came in and fixed my issue very quickly and professionally. Very knowledgeable and friendly service technician. For about a third of the price that I expected. Good experience

Water heater starting leaking. Went to Lowe's to see what they had and set up a free evaluation. I had two years of warranty left so I got a new A.O.Smith. Daniel (ARS) set it up the same day. Next day Tim came to install and was very polite and professional. Very detailed in his work. I am relieved that a professional plumber did the install. Looks and works great.

Horrible experience, with your company, he did not want to fix anything. I could tell his whole demeanor when he came to my house. All he wanted to do was up sail and replace the whole system. I got scammed out of $80. As soon as He pulled out of the driveway. I had another company pull in and was quoted $100 to replace one part. They had it fixed in 5 minutes.

Steve was a great technician and got our tricky problem taken care of for us. He was super nice and extremely helpful. Will recommend and request him for any future issues.

I got offered their services thru Lowe's, one sales person offered me a "good deal" to perform a tune up on my furnace, so I accepted it.. First I had it scheduled for Feb 2nd, and they had to cancel for an emergency, and their end up coming Feb 6th. And said service was performed, Now today Feb 7th, my 3year old furnace is not working!!!! So I called back and they send a technician to fix up the problem, but, guess what, now I have 2k dollar problem and no heat in my house. So that "GOOD DEAL" I guess it was just for them,
So if you are thinking on hiring them at least with Lowe's, trust me,, they will mess your stuff, and wallet!! -
Just used this company for the first time today. And was very impressed with Tecnician Sam. As a recently widowed home ownership iit is quite scary. But Sam made me feel comfortable with his knowledge and recommendations. He listen and answer all my questions. I will recommend and continue to use this company for all my plumbing needs.

Our hot water heater went out the night before. We called early the next morning. ARS was at our house by 9:15 am. They discussed our options. We had a new water heater by early afternoon. The two men were wonderful. Very polite, explained what they were doing and answered all our questions. They were very respectful of our property.
