Modern is here installing our new air conditioner today. Not a fun expense, especially with our house only being 8 years old. But, the peace of mind that comes with trusting Jacob Burkhart and his company is invaluable.

Keegan and Sam installed a new furnace and AC for our home and were exceptional to deal with. They wore booties over their shoes and laid down carpet protectors before I could even ask. They worked all day without causing any disruptions making it easy for us to work from home. They went out of their way to keep their work tidy and well organized. At the end of the day they gave a detailed explanation of the work they did on the installation as well as the testing that was completed to make sure the system runs as efficiently as possible. Very polite, clean and respectful in our home and with our family. Prior to making our purchase decision we met with three different HVAC representatives. Modern quoted over $2k less than the next closest competitor with a comparable system, similar financing and offered a better warranty. Would definitely recommend.

Modern continues to be the most honest and timely HVAC company I have used at my time in Iowa. They communicate amazingly and make their process easy.

I loved working with modern heating and air! I was set up with them through my home warranty. In short, I will be using them for all my future plumbing, A/C, and furnace needs. Here’s a list why:

1. Originally they sent a tech named Max, he was very professional and got my HVAC system back in shape for me while I waited for the quote to get a new system from my home warranty. He talked me through the steps so I felt comfortable.

2. I had a problem with my water heater and hired Modern for that too, they sent a plumber named Lake, he was also excellent, professional, and solved my problem.

3. When Modern came to replace my system they sent two installers, Keegan and Sam. Both of these guys were skilled, quick, professional, didn’t cause a disruption, educated me on the new system, didn’t try to upsell me but rather pointed out what to look for. I was so thankful for these guys.

4. Whenever I needed to I could call modern heating and air for more information. Naomi, Crystal, and the team at their office were prompt in finding me the answers I needed.

We had our AC go out during the hottest part of the summer. American Home Shield assigned the work order to Modern and we could not be happier with their service. Everyone from Nick in the font office to our two techs Keagan and Sam were awesome. They not only answered every question but physically showed us what was wrong with pictures and the solutions. This is the second time we've used them and each time has been outstanding. It's unfortunately rare to find such an honest and trustworthy company with great customer service. Modern is one of the few.

Modern Heating & Air has got to be the best outfit in the Des Moines Metro area for all your HVAC needs. I cannot recommend them highly enough- not sleezy, not pushy, not trying to find ways to upcharge you. Super professional but also super chill. I felt like each person I interacted with became my buddy and I'm pretty picky about my buddies. Just do it. Work with them.

For the those who want a longer story:
I had an old system that needed to be replaced. The sales guy that worked with me (Corbin) was fantastic. Listened to what I needed, did a great in-person survey of the house, and gave me honest and informative answers to my many questions. He didn't push me or try to upsell me on crap I didn't need. He gave me several options within my budget and walked me through the cost/benefits of each option. Super helpful. He found me some discounts and worked it all out with my schedule. Fast and smooth process with regular check-ins along the way.
The install team was even better. Really cool guys who were all professional, clean, well-mannered, and funny. (Listening to their friendly banter while they worked was quite entertaining.) Aaron (install leader) was again very knowledgeable, walked me through everything they were doing, answered my questions, and did a great job. They left the place better than they found it in every way, and did it fast. They had to do a lot of stuff as they were refitting and upgrading from an old system over 30 years old but they got it all done in less than 8 hours.
A week later, the system is running great and hasn't given us any problems at all. The new thermostat has been easy to use and everything about our air system is better now. I can't recommend these guys enough and will be telling all my friends about them.

Crystal, Corbin, Dan, Evan, and Steve were truly amazing and great to work with from start to finish on my HVAC replacement! They were patient, personable, and professional in diagnosing my furnace, providing a very fair quote for the replacement, and doing the installation itself. They’ve gone above and beyond my expectations in helping ensure I was informed and satisfied (*and* warm) - and I have very high expectations! Thank you Modern Heating & Air!

Corbin did a great job explaining the best furnace options for my home and exactly what work would need to be done. He was very courteous and honest. I would highly recommend getting a bid from this company.

We were so happy that we chose Modern Heating and Air. Corbin was so knowledgeable and helpful in figuring out exactly what we needed to make our situation work. I give Corbin and his team full credit for "saving the day" when I came to him with some changes the day before install. He tackled the problem and found a solution without making me feel like I was causing an inconvenience for them. (I was SO appreciative for that!)

I also really appreciated the guys that did the work. They were professional, quiet, cleaned up after themselves, and did a really good job making everything look really nice.

The Modern Mechanical team has been great to work with. I use them for my commercial properties and my home. They are always on time and always prepared to do the work at hand.

Jordan was incredibly knowledgeable. He helped us with our thermostat issue and taught me how to program it. He checked our air conditioner and heating system and gave us a ton of great information about how it works and what filters to get. Jordan is a wealth of information, and upon his recommendation, we signed up for the Gold Plan with Modern Hearing & Air. Very happy with our service.

We have been customers of Modern Heating and Air for almost 10 years, when we had to replace our entire heating and air conditioning. They were open, honest, and up front with what we needed, were very reasonably priced, and have continued to make us feel like we are top priority any time an issue arises.

I performed a competitive analysis on the pricing and vetted out their abilities with local HVAC techs. They checked out enough to allow AHS to use them to perform my equipment replacement. I am HAPPY I let them do the work.

1. They did a great job on the install. 2. Their customer service is kind and effective. 3. When a loud rattle came from the unit 2 months after install, they came out and fixed it same day at no cost. 4. Their techs are knowledgeable and chill. They can hold a relatable conversation.

I am now on a maintenance plan with Modern and trust them with all of my plumbing, heating, and cooling needs.

Now that we've experienced both winter and summer we can safely say that we really like our new HVAC system. We looked into numerous HVAC companies and Modern Heating & Air had the best value for the features we wanted. Good experience with our sales rep too.

We had Modern Heating & Air out to inspect our system on our newly built home. They were friendly, thorough and prompt. They made a few adjustments & recommended we call the original installer for warranty work on the rest. I really appreciated their honesty in recommending the warranty work and not over charging us.
