I would like to thank the entire Griffith Energy Services team for their dedicated service and continued support over the years. Each representative and technician has readily responded with kindness, concern and immediate action with each request. It is through their coordinated teamwork that my family and I have been long standing customers. Thanks again for your commitment to serving others. Greatly appreciated.

I have had a horrible experience with Griffith service for the past 3 weeks.
I have an outside oil boiler that needed repair.
On day one of scheduled service I specifically
told them I needed an afternoon appointment and was given a 12 to 2 time slot.
At about 9:50 when I was not home, my wife called me on my cell to say the just arrived.
After 15 minutes or so making phone calls I was told they would come back between 12 and 2.
By 2 I was calling them to see where they were.
They said tech would be there by 4.
They never called and never showed.
So we re scheduled for another for another day between 2 and 4. Almost a repeat performance only worse. No show by 4. I called and they said tech would be there by 5. At 5 I called and they said tech would be there by 6:30. By 8 I turned off my phone and expected to have missed a message from them. I was wrong. Again no call no apologies-nothing.
I then called and asked for a service manager to call me. They said I would get a call before the end of the day. You guessed it - still waiting.
They have very good techs once they arrive but
there service has pushed me away as a customer of about 15 years. -
I've used Griffith oil for 16 plus years and they have one of the best customer service support systems.
Thank you for such great customer service!! Sandra Craig has been instrumental in helping me with understanding my experience with Griffith. Thank you Sandra for all of your help and support!! -
Third night with no heat after Griffiths let my oil run out. On automatic delivery. Customer service (of which they have NONE) assured me that if it was an oil supply issue, the tech would add 10 gal to be able to bleed the system and get it running until a delivery was made. Tech came out finally Thursday evening to "diagnose" the problem and found no oil. Did NOT add 10 gal to get me going and bleed the system- instead flat out lied to me that it didn't need to be bled, I could just use the restart button after delivery. Of course that didn't work and when I called for service, the dispatcher actually laughed when I told her. I was assured the on call tech would contact me to come out and get it running. 12 hours later, house at 52 degrees and no call. I called back 3 times last night and was assured each time that my ticket was "next". Avoid this company! In 2 years, they also have not been able to correct a billing error in their system. They will randomly increase your monthly rate, even when you are paying enough to cover costs. They claim to have delivered oil a month ago, but there was no receipt and I have no oil!

My original scheduled delivery was February 4. Then received am email saying they’d be delivering between the 2nd-8th of February. No delivery. Called on February 12th and delivery was promised by the 15th. No delivery. Called today (17th). Was told they’d should have been out on the 16th. They then contacted the delivery department to call me with an "emergency" delivery date. Advised me that if I run out of oil, Griffith would be responsible for the costs associated with priming the furnace! How many added days will that take? I’ve been using Griffith for years and never had a problem. This is totally unacceptable!

First visit. One person measured the oil, tank full. And had me turn the furnace on.. then he left
Second visit a few day later we were topped off (25gal) so that took care of our first fill at a discount even though
It was reported full.
3rd visit inspection per our new contract had us turn Off the furnace due to a hole in some part. But we used the furnace for a week with no problem… but smelling oil that I told 1st visit person.
Didn’t even know a delivery was coming since visit 1 reported it full
Why would you top it off before an inspection?
Because its cheaper for Griffith to take advantage of less gallons at the discount?
So now I have a full tank sitting there and no word from Griffith when can we get a replacement furnace -
Patrick- senior technician is absolutely amazing. I had some major boiler/burner issues that was difficult to diagnose. Some jr techs were not successful in repairing the issue and the situation became worse. Patrick and Marty were very communicative and took responsibility of the problem. I was impressed with their responsiveness and willingness to get us back up in running. Thought the issue took a few weeks to completely resolve, I was satisfied with the level of commitment and dedication to ensuring everything was completed.

DO NOT USE! STAY AWAY! This is the biggest POS company ever. Moved to new neighborhood. Got mailer. Wife signed up because they offer Veteran discounts. I am a disabled Iraqi Veteran. They were supposed to deliver oil between Monday and Wednesday. Never called, never showed. We came back from vacation Thursday and our oil ran out on Thursday night. NOW WE NEED SERVICE AND OIL BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPETENCE. Wife took half day off work Friday. They were supposed to show up between 1pm and 4pm for service and oil. Never called. Never showed. I've called 20 times and talked to 10 people. They kept saying the ticket is open, they are going to show up, but they never did! It is now Saturday at 1030am and we are getting another company out this afternoon for oil delivery and an hvac person out to prime the furnace and get it running again. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. This is how you treat BRAND NEW CUSTOMERS AND DISABLED WAR VETS???? Unbelievable. Never use this company. Run far away as possible.

The guy from Griffith Energy Services came to my house for an annual inspection. As it happened, my oil fired hot water heater had quit working a few days previously. The guy who came here tol do the inspection fixed the problem.
After the work was done, he told us that what we should have done was to replace the oil fired hot water heater with a heat pump hot water heater because that would have made more financial sense.
It would have been a more honest business practice for him to have made that suggestion before he did the $600 job. -
Danilo Arguela was very professional and efficient. He did an excellent job checking and maintaining my air conditioner and heat pump. He left the areas very clean after working. Very pleased with his excellent service.

Constant HARASSMENT with phone calls. Having to set a payment plan and still get harassed with phone calls even after speaking to 5 agents is out of this world. All agents has confirmed that I should not be getting phone calls and promised to remove my name on the list and yet phone calls never stopped. It’s not just the phone calls even the billing has issues. They keep charging me for late fees even though it’s already set up for a payment plan which was confirmed by an agent. I’ve never had an issue with a company this bad. Be careful and make sure you look at your statement for additional charges. The quality of work is a different story as well.

Have had Griffith service for years, customer since 2008, they had been dependable. The company has recently been purchased. They came out for a service call to my AC not working on Tuesday, determined no coolant and needed a leak test, dispatch was supposed to call to schedule, never did. I called the main service line Friday "we called and no one answered" found they did NOT call the number on the work order, "Dispatch is closed and would call on Monday". No call back on Monday, I called Tuesday "we called and no one answered" found they still did not call the number on the work order. Finally have a schedule to get the leak test, after over a week, two weeks total. And this is with having their "Gold Level" service plan for multiple years.
Update: Sales came out and quoted us on two different systems, a Trane and Carrier. Even with a "long term customer discount" their price was still over $2000 higher than both other quotes from reputable local companies for the identical Trane system.
It appears that Star Gas Partners, which owns SMO and Griffith consolidating and is attempting to make back its purchase of the local companies with higher prices and lower service.
My long term business has moved elsewhere. -
Your mechanic Lee is a rock star, smart, thorough, patient and can communicate! He's a keeper!!

Paul gave me great and professional service. He went above and beyond to ensure I had heat in these freezing temperatures. God bless you Sir and to the woman that answered my call.

Very disappointing. We have been customers for over 30 years.
The customer 24 hour answering service are just mean and rude people. I have not had a real serious problem with the techs, but it has been 24 hours and no call backs.
I would not recommend Griffith. -
We been with Griffith over 20years, yeah its a little expensive but its ok I guess but, no complaints at all but, I got my service done for winter and some how the person who came said I need a tank replacement, I said ok but my tank looks ok it’s not leaking , some one came do the estimate when I saw the numbers, I was nope I can’t afford it right now, not in even in payments I just can’t over $5,000 for a tank I called and made the decision for now I can afford it ,and I and can you schedule a delivery we running out of oil service department said no they can’t schedule a delivery oil till they change my tank I told the lady I can’t afford it right now we have no money, she said we can’t schedule a delivery right now, the only thing she can deliver 10 gallons if I keep calling for oil they going to charge me delivery for each time and I said why you just fill the tank and she said no period. I need oil tank replacement
I told the service department why would I want to spend over $5000 if we are thinking to switch the whole house to electric the $5000 would go straight to the trash but she doesn’t understand. Now I’m looking for oil in other places -
Great service on the installation of a new furnace. They ran into a problem with my chimney and I was afraid I would spend another very cold night huddled up to space heaters while worrying about freezing water pipes. However, they spent the extra time and effort to solve the problem. Now the furnace is running and the heat is on. Hats off to Robert and Angel.

This place was charging me $4.97 per gallon on Dec 22, 2025 whereas local competitors are charging $3.50. The delivery driver told me the prices range from $3.75-$4.97 depending on zip code and then handed me a bill for the very top of the rate range. Management punishes customers who are on an automatic schedule, pay on-time, and don’t complain. More customers need to complain!

We had a wi-fi thermostat problem that was very difficult to diagnose...and repair. Lee came out to offer his assistance and solved the problem in under an hour. A seasoned, experienced and professional technicians is what we needed...and what we got. Good job, Lee!

Waited 5 days under contract for tech to show. No heat. Burning wood in insert and electric heater. Gent showed said he can not legally work on issue. Issue oil line under house broke. He contacted MDE and I had to remediation the spill. Cost 11.3 K. They oil spill people next day replaced 29 feet of line. The gent from Griffith had only 10 feet of line on his truck. I explained the on the first call to Griffith and second call and third. Now I get calls from China (I guess) about renewing the contract. And bills in the mail.

Great service yesterday and today (1/8 and 1/9) from Lee Smith and partner whose name I didn't get. He took the time to carefully diagnose the problem with my furnace, explain it to so that I understood what was wrong, and make sure that everything was working smoothly before he left. They both also tolerated/engaged with my somewhat annoying dog.
Thank you.
