The technician was great and did the job well, except for leaving the hot water heater turned off. After a cold shower, I quickly realized what he did and went to turn it back on.
I’m not sure if this is a company issue or not, but I had one technician come out to repair a pipe. He came out to evaluate the issue and see if he had the parts in his truck to fix the issue. He did not have the parts so he provided a quote and left. What kind of plumber doesn’t have common parts? A different technician was sent out the following day, but after he evaluated the issue he said the work would cost over $50 more than the first quote. He said he couldn’t view the first quote in the system and had no idea where the first guy got his pricing. This shouldn’t be the clients problem to deal with. I confirmed the appointment thinking the quoted price and work would be correctly accomplished. After a discussion with the technician, he did the work and only increased the quoted price by $2. This isn’t an issue the client should have to deal with. There was no additional work done than what was on the original quote so there was no need for a price increase. The only difference seemed to be the technician’s opinions on pricing. If you hire them, just keep track of what they’re trying to charge. -
Mr Keith, conducted a basement pre-work inspection for me and did an excellent, thorough job. He was knowledgeable, professional, and took the time to clearly explain everything he was looking for and what to expect next. I really appreciated his honesty and attention to detail. On top of that, he was financially reasonable, which was a great and unexpected gesture.

Victor and his brother arrived on time and were so friendly. Within a few hours, they had torn out and replaced a major drain line between the first and second floors, removing only a small area of plaster and totally cleaned the entire area before leaving. Beautiful work!
Thank you! -
Michael A. did a great job fixing our leaking pipe - we were grateful he was able to come out on short notice late in the evening. He diagnosed the problem quickly and kept us informed during the repair process.
-
Davar was quick to determine the problem and offer a fix. He provided options, listed them out and reviewed with me. He did a great job on the funds. In addition, he was respectful of our home by wearing booties, cleaned the work area and was very congenial. I'd recommend him.

Amazing. We had a tech come out, Michael Asamoah, and he did such a great job. It was very late at night and he’d just come from another long appointment but still took his time and did quality work at our home. We have called this company for electrical and plumbing needs and they are always timely, professional, and affordable! We ended up doing their subscription service and it gives me comfort to know our home is in good hands! Thank you so much for being a company we can rely on.

Listen, the technician they sent to our house name was Christopher Mwombela i’m 60 years old and I’m telling you this guy is very thorough knows what he’s doing and Michael and Sons should be glad to have him.
Have dealt with lots and loss of HVAC technicians over the years and I’ve Dibble and dabble in HVAC myself. The guy is very very good. -
Richard Ernesto was an amazing technician. He educated me on my plumbing needs throughout my home. He was very patient and answered all of my questions thoroughly. He has gained my trust and I will request him specifically whenever I have an issue with my home.

Kevin Dupree came to my home to diagnose HVAC issues I’ve been having. Kevin thoroughly diagnosed and explained the problem. Identified multiple solutions and made me feel confident on moving forward with maintenance steps.
If Michael & Sons. Continues to hire and develop knowledgeable, courteous and kind people like Kevin, I will be a lifelong customer. -
Generally, I like Michael and Sons. But this particular technician did a subpar job. Yes, my issue was resolved. But only after it took two visits, both of which he got to my home later than the appointment windows.
The first appointment was this past Friday, scheduled for between noon and 6pm. He didn’t get there until around 6:10pm. I showed him the emails my system generates to identify the error codes, he took pics, and then he looked at my thermostat. He played with it for a couple of minutes and then he asked to see my indoor unit. I took him to the basement where he did what looked like a visual inspection of the system, and that was it. He then went back upstairs to my thermostat where he played with it again. After another few minutes he turns to me and says that because the error codes aren’t showing up on the thermostat he needs to come back during the morning or afternoon so that Carrier can be called for tech support. He says he can come back any day I’m available next week. I say Monday, he says he can’t on Monday. I ask when’s his earliest availability, he says Wednesday between 10am and noon. If that’s your earliest availability why are you telling me you can come at MY earliest availability when you knew your schedule wouldn’t allow you to come until Wednesday morning?? Oh well… the technician leaves at around 6:25pm. 15min to tell me you can’t do anything, and to schedule a follow up. Fast forward to today. I rearrange my schedule at work to accommodate being here for the appointment. 10am comes. Then 11. I finally receive a text from Michael and Sons informing that my technician is on the way at 11:55am. Ok cool. At 12:34pm I get a call from the technician informing he’s en route to my home. Huh?? I thought you were on your way when I got the text 30min ago? No ETA. I try to call back to get an ETA. The dispatcher tells me he’ll be another 25min. So at this point my work day is gone. I call my job to inform my boss that I’ll be taking the rest of the day off as well. When he finally gets to my home just before 1pm, he comes in, I show him to the thermostat where there actually is an error code present, back downstairs to the indoor unit, and then tell him where the outdoor unit is around the back of the house. He goes about diagnosing and troubleshooting, and whatever else he did to fix the issue AT THE OUTDOOR UNIT. The one place he never even went to on the first visit. When he tells me that the issue has been resolved I ask if he had to contact Carrier support; his excuse for scheduling a follow up in the first place. He tells me there was no need because it was a fuse issue. I ask him could this have been diagnosed on Friday and he responds with perhaps, but there wasn’t an error code present on the thermostat on Friday so who knows. I concur with his assessment, but also state if he never went to the outdoor unit on Friday, how can he even be sure this couldn’t have been taken care of on Friday. He doesn’t give any kind of meaningful response. So yes, today’s service which in my opinion is just an extension of Friday’s service was TRASH. Christopher Mwombela was a TERRIBLE technician because he didn’t even look at all the components of my system before determining there was nothing he could do before rescheduling. It was clear Friday he was just ready to be done for that work day. Today he shows up almost an hour past the appointment window to change a couple of fuses. So thank you Christopher and Michael and Sons! I appreciate the disconnect between your automated texting system and the actual time the technician is on their way! And don’t worry about the leave hours I had to use to stick around for your late arrival! I didn’t need those anyway! -
Christopher Alvarez was a great helping solve my hotel water issue. He made a recommendation to get a electrician to make sure I didn't have a much bigger than a hot water tank. And he was right. After that we moved on to a few other plumbing issues which he took care of right away. Thank you Christopher.

I had a leaking faucet that I didn’t have time to deal with, and this plumbing company made the whole process incredibly easy. Their Google booking system is seamless—I was able to schedule after hours and describe all the issues in one quick step without calling or waiting for a callback. Mr. Saidu texted to let me know he was on the way, arrived early, and was kind, polite, and professional from start to finish. He fixed the problem quickly and cleanly with no hassle, and I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone needing a reliable plumber.

First, I have used Michael And Son‘s before to put in my hot water heater and loved their service and professionalism so I decided to call them again when I was having heating issues with my furnace. The technician named Kevin came out and he was very courteous and took the time to explain what was going on with my 30 year old furnace and to have me to look at a live video of what the inside looked like, and the issues thank goodness and not just do a “oh by the way”. He promptly got me an appointment to have someone to come out to select a new one the same day. I really appreciate them working with me during this winter.

Richard Ernesto and Chris L both came to my house for a plumbing project. Richard was in touch with me for few weeks before hand, as he gave me his number to contact him. He guided me through , answered my question and made himself available when I needed an advice and opinion. I had a great experience this time, and I appreacite the service and support I received in my project.

Drew did an outstanding job unclogging our main sewer line after another company wasn’t able to fix the issue. He was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly knew exactly what he was doing. He took the time to assess the problem properly and worked efficiently until everything was flowing perfectly again.
What really stood out was his persistence and expertise—he didn’t give up where others had. He explained everything clearly and made sure the job was done right the first time. It was such a relief to finally have the problem resolved.
I highly recommend Drew to anyone needing plumbing work. His skill, professionalism, and dedication truly set him apart. -
Poor Communication, Undisclosed Charges, and No Follow-Through from Management
My experience with Michael & Sons has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
I initially contacted them regarding a warranty-related issue involving my HVAC compressor and micro-inverter. Two separate technicians visited my property over the course of several weeks. During both visits, I was never informed that there would be any out-of-pocket charges, and the work was consistently presented as part of a warranty service.
Only later was I told that there was a $360 charge for refrigerant, which had never been clearly disclosed to me beforehand. When I questioned the charge, I was told that I had “signed for it,” despite the fact that the cost had never been verbally explained to me during the service visit.
What made the situation worse was the complete lack of follow-through from their customer service escalation process.
I was told twice that a Customer Service Manager would call me back to discuss the issue. After receiving no response, I contacted them again and was assured that I would receive a call within 24 hours. It has now been over a week, and I have still not received any communication from management.
At this point, the biggest concern is not just the charge itself, it’s the lack of transparency and the failure to follow through when a customer raises a legitimate concern.
For a company that advertises professionalism and customer service, this experience reflected neither. If you choose to work with Michael & Sons, I strongly recommend that you ask for all charges to be clearly disclosed in writing and verbally explained before signing anything, even during warranty service visits.
Based on my experience, their escalation and customer resolution process appears unreliable. -
Chris G came out on time and got our gas furnace up and running in less than 30 minutes. Explained everything he was doing along the way and gave helpful advice for future improvements. We appreciate his professionalism and courtesy.

Our experience with Michael & Sons and the electrician who came to our house (Mr. H. Kim) was excellent. He was careful, thorough, and pleasant to deal with throughout. I cannot recommend him and the company (the process they use was seamless and simple) enough.

We had a great experience with Shakir from Michael & Sons for a recent shower leak repair. From the moment he arrived, he was professional, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable about the issue. He quickly diagnosed the source of the leak, explained the problem in clear terms, and walked us through the repair process so we understood exactly what was being done.
Shakir worked efficiently and carefully, making sure everything was repaired properly and leaving the area clean when he finished. What really stood out was his attention to detail and his willingness to answer all of our questions without rushing.
The shower is working perfectly now, and we feel confident the issue was resolved the right way. We would absolutely recommend Shakir and Michael & Sons for any plumbing needs. -
I will most definitely be using Michael and sons again if need be. Darryl Williams the plumber that helped me today did excellent work, was very honest and upfront about everything we did today and had the best most infectious great attitude. It was refreshing to have such great service and the fact he was willing to go above and beyond to help me out really spoke volumes to me I would recommend anyone that is looking for a plumber to use Michael and sons

Great job! Mr. Kim was very professional, prompt and knowledgeable. He provided me with great insight and information when he did his evaluation. He entered our home with his shoe covers and proceeded to fix our sinks. He didn’t leave a mess and gave me aftercare instructions and advised me about our plumbing overall. Any issues going forward, knock on wood, I will call Michael and Son!
