This was my first experience with this company, but they were great! They arrived on time, provided me with an ETA when they were on their way, and were very helpful and responsive. They followed up with me shortly after the appointment to provide an overview of the work they had provided and next steps, and they promptly scheduled the next appointment and sent me a text to confirm. This has been great service so far and I really appreciate their communication!

Doug was great to work with! He made a quick assessment and was in & out within the hour - really appreciated him talking me through the work so that I had a clear understanding of what needed to be done. Highly recommend.

Awesome! Found my Boston plumber! Left a message on a Saturday morning and the customer service representative returned my call within twenty minutes. She answered my questions and scheduled an appointment for Monday morning. The plumber arrived early and completed the work within an hour. He was professional, thorough and answered my questions. Had a fair invoice that morning. Mind you that this was a holiday weekend for a non-emergency. Couldn’t be happier.

Justin and Jimmy do great work. We are very happy with their professionalism. They really care about their work and are extremely pleasant people. The office is also responsive and flexible. We highly recommend this company.

Ryan did a great job. Diagnosed the problem quickly and fixed it efficiently. Aside from the repair, he serviced and cleaned the boiler—long overdue—and was very thorough and neat. A pleasant person. Would be happy to have Ryan come back in the future.

I am super happy with the work and service of Horvitz Plumbing especially now that the wrinkles of a change in hands a few years ago have been smoothed out. Odette in the office is excellent, friendly and knowledgable. Matt and Jose each recently came out to do work. Matt came to do preventative maintenance on my boilers and through a throrough inspection came across a technical issue that previous plumbers inadvertently missed. Jose came to do a list of items we needed serviced and worked diligently and creatively to solve knocking pipes, a water pressure issue and leaking radiators. I love that they each explained everything clearly to me because I love to understand how it works. They listened carefully to my concerns and questions and the noises my plumbing makes and then got to work solving the problems with a minimum of fuss and were finished in a reasonable amount of time. They were each very gracious with my nervousness as a customer. They showed up on time or close to it and kept in contact with me. When I had questions about upgrades or changes to my systems they gave honest assessments and great suggestions. I will definitely be continuing to use Horvitz Plumbing.

Horvitz, particularly Nikolia, excels in providing dedicated customer care from start to finish. Nikolia's quick thinking was invaluable, especially given that the task he was hired for turned out to be more intricate than initially anticipated. I placed a great deal of trust in his recommendations for replacements and potential future steps. His courteous and respectful demeanor left me with the assurance that I have discovered a reliable plumbing professional to call upon for any upcoming projects.

I used different providers for ac and heating before and I have now consolidated all my services with Horvitz. Their new membership is fantastic, the technician was very professional and knowledgeable. Matt took his time to verify the current condition of plumbing, ac and heating using a preventive approach and walked me through his findings and recommendations. I highly recommend their services.

Ryan was incredible, super knowledgeable and efficient! He helped me with my dryer installation and gave me info while I tried to DIY my washer alongside him! Will absolutely call Ryan and Horvitz in the future for my plumbing needs!

I've used Horvitz a few times now and have had great experiences. Nikolai was very prompt and offered a lot of insight as he fixed my AC problem this morning. Nice guy and very good at his job!

Had some issues getting my furnace to work properly so called Horvitz Plumbing & Heating and scheduled a service call with Odette(Office manager). The plumber Nikoli arrived on time and was able to figure out what the issue was fairly quickly. He figured out I had a break in the wire line from my thermostat to my furnace and that was the reason it wouldn't communicate properly. The amazing service that Nikoli provided was unmatched compared to any other professional services i've hired in the past, really felt that he is a trustworthy and patient person as he explained everything he did. Overall great service and I highly recommend Horvitz!

Horvitz plumbing, represented today by Nikoli have done a number of jobs for us over in Cambridge. Today I had a bunch of water shutoffs replaced, which resulted in needing to reset a garbage disposal unit and replace gaskets that had failed. Nikoli extended his service call (8.15 am - 2.35pm!) to repair a bunch of other things that came up in the course of the original service call. He's skilful, patient, communicative and unflappable, even when unforeseen problems arose. Really impressive - and rare! We've looked for a really good plumbing contractor for our building in Cambridgeport for years. Our experience with Horvitz has been exceptionally good. I'd recommend this company (which has existed since 1932) highly for the reasons given above: they're punctual, excellent service (not particularly cheap, but very reasonable), knowledgeable & courteous technicians, value for money, and a highly professional communication system through Odette, who handled the initial call and had all the information readily available when I needed information about the previous service call. Five Stars. I'm going to be booking them for an annual service checkup, as well as for my unit over in Dorchester. Thanks, Nikoli, Odette & Horvitz P & H. Peter W.

Since this post I have to add that another of Horvitz' staff, Jose, took care of an issue with my gas boiler and then, in my rental unit, did a bunch of work in both kitchen and bathroom, all completed perfectly, and in excellent time. Jose, like Nikoli, was able to identify and diagnose a major problem (this time with the thermostats) and fix it permanently within a couple of hours, including locating and installing parts. So, I just want to add Jose to my review and give Horvitz my highest recommendation. High professional expertise. Not to mention Odette, who's the nicest and most efficient coordinator, taking real pride in service and attention to every detail. Bravo, folks, and thanks - again.

I had another couple of service calls from Horvitz in late December, 2024. Tony, this time, who had been once before - the best of all. Incredibly efficient, knowledgeable and professional. As usual, Odette was the perfect coordinator. Professionalism, follow-up and excellent communication (Horvitz treat their customers as being intelligent). And very upfront about costs and quotes. Highest recommendation for this great firm.

Over the past few years my wife and I have used Horvitz Plumbing and Heating for bathroom and kitchen plumbing improvements and repairs as well as the installation of a new dish washer. We have found the plumbers to be friendly, helpful, efficient and responsive and the billing to be clear and transparent.
I called Horvitz again yesterday due to a valve that was leaking both outside the building wall and inside the basement. Jose came right away and knew what to do. He was friendly, efficient and told me everything he was going to do to fix the problem. We now have a new faucet to water our garden with a shut off valve and drain for the coming winter - all in a couple of hours work

I only recently started to use these guys but my grandparents have used Horvitz since 1963 and I can see why. They are so quick to respond to emergencies but really go above and beyond in any thing they do. We are having a tub reinstalled in a bathroom and it turned out to be a much larger project than anticipated. Matt worked with us to find the best solutions and map out a great plan, he was so easy to reach and communicate with throughout the whole process and I cannot say enough good things about him. But I have to give a incredible shoutout to Jose who performed most of the work on the job, on top of being an incredibly polite and hardworking plumber who does a great job - he went above and beyond for us on this project. We needed to have the bathroom working by the end of the day as we have a ton of people descending tomorrow and next week for the holiday. Due to a scheduling error by the office, Jose was due to get off today at 2:30 having been mistakenly told he was scheduled to come back next week to finish and he had personal things planned. I almost lost my mind as we had communicated multiple times with the office about needing it done today. Jose seeing my distress and frustration stayed! Even though the error was in no way his nor had he even known about it. He stayed the extra hours to get it in working condition for us and he did an amazing job. He and Matt have made me a customer for life. Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic!
We had a leak in the house. Originally, we had another “plumber” come by and said we needed to break down a wall in order to see the issue. Therefore, I had to contact my insurance to make them aware of the issue and see how to process an insurance claim — because breaking down a wall sounds expensive. To make a long story short, I thought of getting a second opinion, and therefore, I contact Horvitz! I’m glad I did - no walls were torn down, no insurance claim necessary, and the issue was resolved within two hours at a fair and affordable price. I felt like I could trust them with my home improvement needs. They deserve 5 stars for professionalism, honesty, and efficiency! Definitely would use them again!

These guys were fantastic and for me, even better local folk! I had a slight leak behind a wall and needed a new vanity in a second bath - they came in diagnosed the issues and came up with the best plan. Happy to report that despite it being a tricky spot, it wasn’t enough to outsmart my “new guys”! In addition to fixing my issues I was aware of, they spotted another in the making and fixed that too. Highly recommend, courteous, considerate, professional company.

I've had the pleasure of hiring Horvitz Plumbing and Heating since the summer of 2022. Every service call (about eight so far) has been on time, reliable, and fairly priced. The technicians are knowledgable problem solvers who don't engage in irritating up-selling, which has become the fashion for many service providers. The billing is prompt and nicely detailed. These are my go-to plumbers because they run a very professional and trustworthy operation. Their 5-stars have been earned several times over.

We recently purchased a home and brought in Nikoli to service the HVAC system. He has been a complete professional. He is incredibly courteous and kind (even when two toddlers get curious about the new person in the house). He has a level of knowledge that is staggering and he is great about walking me through what he is doing and why. Through Nikoli, I've learned a ton about how the systems in my house work.

I highly recommend using him for any HVAC needs you have.

Nikolia was excellent. Our AC unit and shower head were both broken and he was able to assess and fix BOTH issues within an hour. Very friendly and open to explaining why the problems were occurring. I will certainly reach out to Horvitz and Nikolia for any future needs.

Nikoli is a true professional! Fast but thorough, knowledgeable but patient, and creative but communicative when we were problem-solving.

One thing that stood out was how quickly he understood the HVAC systems in place and what needed to be done. Another was how he offered options from a customer's perspective.

I also want to shout-out the back-office folks at Horvitz, like Odette, who made it easy to schedule a visit quickly and sort out billing efficiently.

It wasn't the first time we've hired Horvitz for HVAC work, and it won't be the last. Very happy to continue recommending them.
