We had a damper & furnace issue which was resolved to our satisfaction. The technicians were skilled, professional & courteous. It was a tough fix but they worked diligently to repair it as quickly as possible.
We are very pleased with McKay & have recommended their services to friends, family & neighbors.

My hot water tank drained completely out onto my slab. The repairman came and fixed it all and told me what I needed to do about insulation because everything under the house got wet. I highly recommend this company because they were right on time and the price was extremely fair.

Called this afternoon with no heat/hot water and tech Steve was at my door in 1 hr. He had my issue diagnosed within minutes and proceeded to take the steps necessary to fix the system issue.
My first experience with Clayton McKay and they are going to be my new service company!

We had a water leak coming from the tube on our HVAC unit in a home we recently purchased. We weren't familiar with area service providers and called McKay Plumbing to service the unit. Adam came out and quickly diagnosed the problem and provided a prompt repair. Very efficient and courteous service. Highly recommend for future services.

Mike and Boston were both very professional and most respectful in their visit to clear out bathroom drains and replace a flapper fill valve. They attempted to help with my gas fireplace that had a pilot light but did not want to illuminate. But no luck. I would have preferred to be able to be presented with a bill on sight. I am in need of an itemized check list as to what has been completed.
Recommend highly the McKay Family as your plumber of choice!

Mckay plumbing came to evaluate a non working fireplace. They turned the switch in the fireplace to remote and restarted the pilot and it worked. I told them I was trying to fix the fireplace before Clayton came and I didn't switch it back to remote. No other evaluation was done on the fireplace by Clayton to determine it was more than a switch. They said the fireplace is working and left.
After 30 minutes the fireplace stopped working and I called the office. The men returned . They didn’t know what the problem was. They researched it on their phone and couldn’t determine the reason. After restarting the fireplace they left again saying they were going to email the manufacturer .The fireplace stopped working .
I received a bill for $225 and still a non working fireplace.
I called the office and was told I would have to pay the full amount even though the fireplace was not fixed and I couldn’t schedule a third visit until I payed it in full.
I contacted another company and this company resolved the issue in 10 min.
On note my neighbor had engaged McKay for a non working fireplace and had payed
$500 and still a non working fireplace.

We had a plumbing emergency that McKay Plumbing and Heating not only repaired same day, but they were incredibly professional, understanding, and thorough. They also corrected an initial mistake made by the builders when the house was built.

I cannot express enough how much I appreciate McKay Plumbing and Heating. I will definitely use their services in the future, and would not hesitate to recommend them to any friends or family in the area. They are awesome!

I went outside and discovered that a pipe was leaking and spraying a lot of water. The valve that should have shut off the water was rusted closed. I called McKay and they were able to get a plumber to my home within 1/2 hour. A master and apprentice arrived. They replaced the leaking pipes and fixed the valve. They completed the job in about 1/2 hour and the cost was very reasonable! I've used McKay many times before and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them.

We had a water leak behind the shower wall. The technicians were able to fix it without cutting into the wall. This is the second time we have used McKay. Both times they were on time and the price was fair. Highly recommend. Will use again.

Our heat went out and we didn’t discover it until the house got cold. We called multiple companies and had to leave messages. Clayton McKay actually answered the phone. We explained our situation and they sent out a technician immediately! The technician found the problem and answered questions about our system. This was done efficiently making the cost affordable. Great price and install of Generac generator and new switching station. Replaced a 24yr system. McKay & R Clayton has Decades of service at our home.
Update 9-3-2024 new hot water tank installed in 4 hours last minute notice. Exceptional attention to detail. Inlaws needed help recently with AC work. McKay came out put in a in window unit that day and a follow up for repairs the next. Get what you pay for!

Recently had situation where furnace stopped working during cold spell. Mckay came out the same day and fixed the furnace. Technician was very professional and courteous. Very impressed with this plumbing and heating company and will contact them again for any further needs. Thank you!

The service rep Adam was on time personal and pleasant completed the job and less than 30 minutes you repaired my gas furnace it was sensor that regulates the firing of the furnace.

Update: I have now had a second service from this same company and it was equally as excellent! Scheduled quickly and easily, arrived on time, completed the project thoroughly and professionally. With two experiences of the same company, I can now say that their high-quality is consistent.

Over the years, I have used Mckay Plumbing many times. The hardness of the water in the West Wind Shores area frequently damages the old pipes in my house and Mckay are always able to come over in a timely fashion and do the job right. Pricing is reasonable and appropriate. I highly recommend.

They are people like Ricardo, who was the master plumber for our master bathroom renovation project last summer. (FYI 5-STAR *****!:) So I was psyched when Ricardo was assigned to help me with an outdoor spigot drip.

I have been a happy McKay Plumbing client since purchasing my home in 2019. (The previous owners personally introduced me to Phil McKay.) So when we decided to renovate our master bathroom, there was really no question that McKay would handle the plumbing. But this time, I also needed electrical work.

This was my first experience with Rick Clayton Home Improvements (RCHI), which acquired McKay a few years back.

I could not be more thrilled with my decision to hire Rick Clayton/McKay for my bathroom renovation project — and I especially want to recognize and thank their electrician, Kevin, who handled all of the electrical work.

Why Kevin is Exceptional
Kevin is not only a skilled electrician, he also brings an eye for design and a creative, problem-solving mindset.

During his site survey, Kevin — like other electricians I’d consulted — told me that my idea of having an all-glass shower wall wouldn’t work because an existing electrical panel had to remain exposed and accessible.

That’s when I learned just how resourceful Kevin is. Instead of compromising the design, he thought “outside the box” — or in this case, outside the bathroom entirely. He relocated the panel not to a wall, but into the ceiling of the floor below.

(As a thoughtful finishing touch, Kevin even added a second blank plate to the ceiling for balance and symmetry. I love that detail.)

Kevin also proved to be an outstanding supervisor and mentor. Watching him work with his young apprentice, Aiden (“Junior”), was a pleasure. He turned what could have been just another assignment into a real learning opportunity for his apprentice — without ever losing sight of quality as the top priority.

When the electrical inspector arrived to check Kevin’s rough-in work, he told me he had known Kevin for over 20 years and had never encountered a single problem with his work — to the point where inspection was almost a formality. Now I understand why.

We had an issue with a new boiler system that was put in by a different business. We called Clayton Mckay first thing this morning and had someone here within the hour! Fantastic customer service and were very helpful explaining and fixing the issue. Amazing company!

For an emergency call, the team sent someone out immediately. They gave us an 11-12 window and the gentleman was here 10 minutes before that. He was efficient, kind, and very knowledgeable. Thank you for your rapid attention to our issue.
