Jacobson‘s came out to our house within two hours of calling them when we had no heat and it was 27° outside. They fixed the issue did not oversell us and were amazing. We decided it was time to get a new furnace(ours was over 30 years old- kicking but starting to falter). We went with Jacobson’s as they were not pushy, and all the reviews said how honest they were and still locally owned. They came out the next day and install a new furnace and air conditioner and with very competitive prices. I would highly suggest Jacobson and Heating And Cooling. Shout out to James and Ryan for doing a great job.

I had the humidifier attachment on my furnace replaced. Jacobson did a great job, including Mark, who installed it.

I always prefer to support local companies and it's nice that Jacobson isn't one of the many private equity owned HVAC companies in Grand Rapids.

I highly recommend Jacobson Heating & Cooling! I got a new furnace five years ago from a different company. Each year the furnace would go out and I called the same company to fix it. Each time they gave me a story of what it was and it was fixed but worked for about a year (at some point when I called and said that furnace does not want to turn on after they repaired it the company said “give it some time” - well I like my furnace to work like my car / for it to turn on when I want it). I finally had enough and called around - Not only was Jacobson able to come out the same day BUT they found the problem which was covered under warranty. It was the control board!! In addition, after everything was done and repaired (took about three hours - they even drove to get the replacement part) they sent me a check in the mail that covered some of the labor because warranty covered a certain amount in labor. Can I just say how thankful I am that I called them and that I had the actually problem fixed! It could have saved me a lot of money if I would have gone with them initially. I am extremely thankful for the professionalism, exceptional service and knowledge, coming out the same day and for solving a problem that I’ve had for 5 years with a brand new furnace!

I came home late night to no heat in my house in the middle of winter. I spent 2 hours and called 15 other HVAC emergency services and no one was available within the next 24 hours. When I called this company, they sent a technician within 1 hour. I was absolutely blown away but how quick he got to work and immediately fixed the likely cause while explaining every step of the way. The technician was fantastic and worth every single penny for the fast and experienced service I received. He was so kind and incredibly helpful to walkthrough everything, especially I being a new homeowner. I would hands down recommend this company for their services and they earned my business for any of my future inspections and maintenance.

This past week we had Jacobson replace our furnace. Right from the service call to Mr. Tom that came out to give us a estimate, everything was very professional. Then when Mike and Adain came to put the new furnace in, again very polite, and they were very organized. Even when they completed the job, they cleaned up the floor and took the old furnace with them. Which we really appreciated as we didn't have to worry about getting rid of it. We miss Jacobsons mom in the advertisement. Call my son's at Jacobson! We feel like we have some new friends!

We had a new furnace installed and Matt and Matthew did a great job!! It was a big job because of our old vent pipes and filter box but they still got it done all in the same day! Protected the carpet, courteous, and showed me how to change the filter now that it was a different set up. We’ve been working with Jacobson for 20 years and will continue to use them for all of our HVAC needs!

Jacobson is the best. We have used them for decades. Local family owned, very prompt in response, offered trouble shooting ideas when closed, knowledgeable in exploring HVAC options and operations, reasonably priced, service and sales employees courteous and friendly. We highly recommend.

December 2025. Since our furnace, AC system and water heater were each 20-25 years old and showing wear, we brought Jacobsons Jeff Vanderson (co-owner) in to give a quote.
Energy rebates and cost savings from changing out all our old units at same time along with their Daikin (former Amana) 12-year parts warranty convinced us to do a complete change out. So a hi efficiency 97% Daikin furnace plus AC coil install (outside unit will be installed later in spring), a Bradford White water heater and an AprilAir humidifier with outside air temp monitoring. Paid $12k+
Nothing is cheap, but I’m confident these new systems will provide many years of reliable service.
Jacobson sent a 3-man Install crew (Matt, Ryan & Matthew) who arrived, as scheduled, at 8 am Monday and were largely done by 1pm. They cleaned the floor under the old furnace and water heater zones before installing our new systems. All nicely tooled new sheet metal ductwork was formed to blend into our existing ductwork.
We’re now enjoying nice even temps with the LOW SPEED (super quiet) continuous running efficient circulation fan. It automatically kicks to higher speeds when more heating or cooling is required. No more finger ‘sparking’ either as the AprilAir humidifier nicely remedied our dry indoor winter air to the exact level indicated by the humidifier control unit. I know because I verified the humidity % using my professional Taylor guitar humidity sensor I use to keep my wood guitars at proper humidity levels inside their cases.
I used to use Jacobsons to service some of our business furnace units until I sold my business 11+ years ago. Their tech crew proved to be the best of several outfits we tried back then. I’d say they still rate tops for fair pricing and quality service people.

We have used Jacobson for year. We had our furnace blower motor replaced in 2022, then January of 2025, we had the heating element replaced. The tech we worked with last year was awesome, hard working honest guy. I asked him how long does he think we have until we need a new furnace. He said you’ve replaced the two biggest parts, this will last you years. Well January 2026 our heat goes out again. This doofus of tech comes in, doesn’t even do any thing and says we need a new furnace. We asked him about the replacement parts and why they didn’t last or if they honor any warranty and his response was “well they really only last a year or two”

We were blown away. He was super just weird and shady. The owner came out to do a quote for a new furnace but why would we purchase a furnace from a company whose parts don’t last??? We ended up getting a quote from a different company same day and was able to get a new furnace the next day. We will never be doing business with Jacobsons again after this experience.

Absolutely amazing, we were told by another company that our air conditioner, and furnace needed to be replaced and were quoted 13,000. Dave came in and found the air conditioner just needed a repair and the furnace didn't need to be replaced at all just needed a good cleaning. Customer for life.

I woke up to no heat in my house in the middle of winter. Within half an hour of calling RiteTemp Heating & Cooling, Cody was there to diagnose the issue. As a first time home owner (of only 4 months), I was interested in learning more about my furnace and Cody didn't mind walking me through what he was doing.

It turned out to be a seized inducer motor, which RiteTemp had a replacement part in stock. Cody also went the extra mile to check the heat exchanger to make sure there were no cracks and investigated what filter would work (older furnace, filter style was "obsolete"). The system was back up and running within 2.5 hours of calling, including travel time.

Our AC was severely lagging during a heat wave and another company did a diagnostic visit and recommended replacing the whole AC/Furnace. We decided to get multiple quotes. Not only did Dave make time to stop by the same day I called for a quote, but he got our AC up and running that same visit with a few repairs!! RiteTemp showed honesty, transparency, and very fair pricing. Highly recommend!
