We had a great experience with MJ Electric. They replaced our entire electric panel when we had an emergency and there was actually sparking happening from our old panel. They responded very quickly and were able to fit us into their schedule within 24 hours. The cost was very reasonable too. Beforehand, we would have whole house electric outages sometimes. We have not had any issues since, and we have gone back to taking our electricity for granted. So thankful it is fixed and the work is stable and secure.

I had two issues that needed trouble shooting. MJ Electric was great. They found the problems and remedied them. The electrician they sent over was polite, efficient, clean, and knowledgeable. I will use again if I need any upgrades or fixes.

MJ Electric is my go-to electrician because their prices are fair and they are quick to respond and deploy. I have used MJ Electric on several occasions now to take care of big and small wiring issues. Mike and his crew are knowledgeable and efficient. Mike is pretty good at setting the right expectation for the level of work needed. I also appreciate his fair and competitive hourly rate, which is unbeaten by most other electricians around. The only gripe I have is that he charges a 3.5% fee for credit cards which can get pretty high on large jobs, and most other contractors have absorbed that cost by now in favor of the customer. In the end though, when it comes to cost, reliability, and quality MJ Electric is still up there.

I've been doing flips for 20 years and this is the best electrician I've used. Got his name from a friend, gave them a call and left a message. Mike the owner called me back within 15 minutes. He asked the scope of my project and then sent a man out within days...not weeks! I had a somewhat tricky job that required fishing many runs to my panel that was in the garage. His man was very professional and knowledgeable who gave me many suggestions to enhance my project. I thought for sure I would need to cut away large sections of drywall and patch for days. The guy worked so fast and you couldn't even tell there was any work done...all you could see when he was done was a small bag of wire scraps that he cleaned up. Very skilled worker. Trust me...I've used dozens of contractors...call this guy for your next job and see what the old days were like when you delt directly with the owner and got quality work at a fair and honest price!!!

I was having a hard time finding an electrician, but Mike had me scheduled in two days and for a great price. George was on time and did great work. Will definitely be calling MJ Electric for my next project!

I recommend Mike and the team at MJ Electric who installed an outdoor outlet 3 days after I reached out. The estimate was ballparked over the phone and was accurate, which speaks to the experience in the company. The work was completed on time and they were considerate of our plants around the install area. I will call them again for our next job!

Great prices!! They did amazing work!! These guys are very professional. Allowed me to choose my options & I was very pleased with that. Many company’s don’t act like MJ Electric do. I’d recommend to everyone!

I had an issue and contacted MJ as I had heard good things word of mouth. MJ attempted to troubleshoot by phone and when it was clear I was not capable offered his services. He was able to send an electrician same day, who solved my issue for what I thought to be a reasonable price. Both the owner and his employee were professional, patient and approachable. I couldn't ask for much more.

I have used Mike & MJ Electric for numerous projects at our hardscape/ landscape projects and have been very impressed. Very reasonable prices, phenomenal communication, and a great team to work with! Highly recommend.

I have now had 2 great experiences with MJ Electric!! I was able to get an appointment within a week which seems to be a challenge lately. The job was a head-scratcher at best. The technician was willing to talk about a couple options that would work. He exceeded my expectations with the quality, clean and complete work he did. I cannot be happier with the outcome. I will definitely use them again!!

We had the power go out in half of our townhouse yesterday and I called Mike and he was in the area and was able to get there in a few hours. He resolved the issue in less than an hour.

MJ Electrics has helped me with two minor projects and two bigger projects. I appreciated how quickly Mike got back to me with information and how quickly they were able to get me on their schedule. The work was completed quickly, effectively and the guys were very kind. George is the best and I request him when possible.

I was making dinner for my husband and I when the range shut off. My range is only 18 months old. It was cooked far enough that we could at least eat. It was after 7 pm and waited till the next day when I got home from work to call MJ Electric Bloomington. I told Mike what happened and he asked for a photo of the electric box. The breaker wouldn’t flip back on so I figured it needed replacing, it was original. Within an hour Leo arrived and checked out the circuit breaker and sure enough it was an easy fix. He replaced the breaker and we were able to have my husband birthday dinner! We are truly grateful for such excellent response time and replacement so our plans weren’t disrupted. Will definitely use MJ Electric again for any future electrical issues. Thanks so much!

We’ve used MJ Electric several times for various electrical needs in our house (both big and small) and have always had a great experience!

I texted Mike this week and he responded in less than 10 minutes with a guy available the next day. Nate was out at our home today for several hours and did an excellent job (super friendly, polite, made great recommendations for this project and future needs, cleaned up very thoroughly).

Overall, great guys, really fairly priced, never had any issues!

Had to call these guys in a panic when my roofer took out the power to half our house. They showed up within the hour and started working to fix the problem. They cleaned up after themselves (and after the mess the roofers made!) too! Overall super impressed with the response time and customer service!

We are happy we chose MJ Electric to upgrade our Bloomington home’s electrical service. They installed a new 200 amp service entry and interior panel to replace the original electrical service. The crew kept things neat and tidy and they coordinated with Xcel Energy to get lights back on by dinner time. We were pleased they were able to fit the new equipment without the need to modify our exterior siding. Quality work at a reasonable price.

James is fantastic! I had 2 chandeliers and two pendants that needed to be replaced. James agent over and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and I was 100% happy. Very professional and would definitely use them again. The best electrician I have ever hired!

MJ Electric did the hook up for our sauna and hot tub. We ran into some challenges throughout the project and Mike and his team did an incredible job coming up with solutions. Mike was very responsive and transparent. We would recommend MJ Electric to anyone and will definitely use them again.

I am writing a review about almost being run off the road by one of your drivers. It happened on 252 in Brooklyn center today 11/17/25 at 3:30pm. The license plate on the truck was GEK 423. You guys have got to stop your guys from doing this. There are other one star reviews about this as well. Someone is going to get hurt or God forbid someone gets seriously hurt. Please stop your drivers from doing this for the safety of the public. You have all the info to discipline this person. Thanks

I found this company on Facebook and decided to shoot Mike a text after having some serious issues with a few breakers in my house. I sent him a message on Saturday asking if he could come out the following week sometime. He responded and said he could make it out Monday and if I wanted to move forward, to send him my name, address and email address. I did just that. After not receiving a response for a while, I texted him later that night asking if there was any specific time he had in mind that he wanted to stop by on Monday. He responded with “8 am.” After 8 am rolled on by Monday morning without anyone showing up or receiving any texts, I reached out and asked him if he was close. About 10 minutes later he responded with “I had two people on the schedule this morning with your name and got confused. I can get a guy there in just a little bit.” First off, I sent my first and last name, email address and postal address (just as requested)- I’m not sure anyone else shares that same information and seems pretty basic to keep organized. Second, I very specifically scheduled my day around this as I am running on a time-crunch trying to get things fixed in my house before I leave out of town. Very frustrating and very unprofessional. If you’re betting on these guys to show up when the say they will, I wouldn’t bet much.

*EDIT— Right after I posted this review, I receive a text message from Mike. Actually, to be very precise, I received 8 text messages from Mike. The first one consisted of telling me why he didn’t make it to the appointment again. He reiterated that there were two people on the schedule with my first name and told me he wasn’t wearing his glasses last night. Neither of which are my fault. He apologized a few times and ended that first text with “pretty sad if you ask me said I’m sorry twice” in reference to this review. The second text consisted of a bribe/threat. I quote “I’ll give you 50 bucks if you don’t take that review off.” The next text read, and I quote- “Take it off plz.” The next text was a screen shot of his work computer and schedule with other people’s private information on it, trying to prove where he got my name mixed up. He ended the long chain of texts with again another attempt at a bribe, saying- “I’ll give ya 50 bucks and we move on.” In my experience, it’s not often I’ve seen a “business professional” reach out via text to make excuses, bride and threaten a client. Unfortunately for Mike, I don’t exactly respond well to threats or bribes.

If you’re so worried about the review, then reply to the review directly on google so others can see your response and how you handle it. I understand things happen, but the way this was approached is absolutely mind-blowing to me. This was definitely the first time I’ve ever had to threaten to call the cops for harassment on an electrician. Stay far away from these people.

He's a good hard working individual and a good friend and fair pricing I give 5 stars
