Great company, honest and fair. I've worked with both Travis and Scott and they've both been extremely knowledgeable. They also have the best pricing for city time of sale furnace inspections.

They were excellent. I got a quote from a couple "big box" companies for AC repair. Immediately they switched it to a sales conversation to buy a new AC and quoted ~$1500 for repair. Travis from Ray Welter explained the fix and quoted us $400 for repair. On top of that, these guys are not commissioned for new sales, so you know you're getting an honest answer and honest suggestions. When I have to replace, they will be the only HVAC company that will get my business

We had a another company come out to look at furnace that was acting up. We had been behind on changing air filter and heater would stop and start (we changed filter and things improved but were not fixed). This other company stated we had a bad heat exchanger, would have CO leaking into house, and recommended a new $7,800 furnace. Said the part could be replaced but is not worth it.

We called Ray N Welter following a positive review from a family member. Technician came out and did diagnostic testing (other company did not) and showed that gas pressure was high but all other systems were operating properly. He adjusted gas pressure and provided info that the furnace did get hot when filter was clogged but is not in need of replacement at this time. He provided recommended filter replacement intervals. He left without charging us for this second opinion. We will definitely call first next time we have an issue!

Ray N. Welter Heating is an excellent company to work with. When we had trouble with our furnace, we initially called another company to take a look at it. The guy they sent out took a pair of tin snips and cut the back off the furnace (without doing any preliminary diagnostics and without asking my permission). Then he told me we had a cracked heat exchanger (scam alert) and told me we could all die of carbon monoxide poisoning (mega-scam alert). He recommended we buy a new furnace, as the old one wasn't worth repairing. I told him we might decide to buy a new furnace, but it wouldn't be from his company. I know enough about physics to understand the "cracked heat exchanger" scare tactic. It's a very old scam. I patched up the back of the furnace with foil tape and went online to find a better company.

We called Welter based on good reviews (plus, my wife likes their television commercials). We talked with them about options and eventually decided it would be a good idea to replace our 30-year-old furnace with a new, high-efficiency model. They installed both our furnace and our central air conditioner. When we had trouble with the air conditioner they came out and repaired the problem under warranty so there was no cost to us. Ralph C. even took the time to thoroughly clean the outdoor unit.

It's nice to find a company that's knowledgable and honest. Highly recommended.

We had a great experience with Welter heating. They replaced our AC & Furnace. Multiple other vendors provided either inflated estimates or inaccurate information on what our options were for our HVAC system before I found them.

Their sales people were not pushy, they explained everything in a way that didn't leave me confused and they were able to work around the constraints of our home.

The installers were on time, respectful and thorough and again explained what was done, why it was done and how.

We live nearby and decided to call Ray N. Welter after our old central AC (30+ years old) stopped working in the middle of a stretch of brutally high temps. Rick was able to provide me a quote almost instantly and was able to get me on the calendar quickly. Extremely easy and fast! The pricing was also fair and a great value considering the unit and other equipment that was installed.

I am very happy with this company from start to finish. They have a very good reputation and now I see why. When we found out our furnace was shot I called Ray N.Welter (and a few others) for a bid and Rick came out the next day. It was during our first cold snap and 9 inches of snow so these guys were busy! In October no less! Rick was not in a hurry, took his time explaining what we needed and what we didn't and also what he thought we should have. I appreciated that. The day of installation the tech (Pete) was here right on time (7:30). He was very friendly, courteous, and professional and went right to work. At 1:20 Pete let me know he was finished and gave me a brief explanation of the new furnace, air filtration system, and new thermostat. All the old parts and materials were picked up and he even added a new PVC line to the drain replacing the old garden hose. All the boxes are checked at a very competitive price! So thanks guys, we appreciate it.

I had my furnace and A/C replaced by Ray N Welter and had a great experience. I had to get multiple quotes and they were the only one who told you the whole truth and did not try to upsell like many of the others. The quality of work done was phenomenal fixed the ductwork since it was wrong before. Also definitely get a 5 inch filter it is worth it. Once I need a new one I would not hesitate to go back to them hopefully not for a long time :)

My husband and I just had Ben to our house to give us a second opinion on our AC and furnace. The big box company who did our tune-up told us we needed a new system. We had Ray N. Our furnace went out during the winter. Originally, we called another company that listed 24/7 service. I'm convinced that the quoted repair for our furnace was priced to sell us a new one.

I called up Ray N. Welter for a second quote on a replacement furnace, and when Rick came out, one look at our furnace, he said that we should fix it. They were able to come out less than 24 hours later with the correct part! They will be our first call in the future.

These folks have been in the neighborhood for decades and have stayed true to wonderful customer service the whole time. I recently went in with an elderly friend whose older south Minneapolis house needed a floor board air exchange register. I brought the old one in and the owner went out of his way to find a new one that fit the bill. When I went to pay, his reply was ‘no, this is why I keep some of those older models - just for this reason when people need them.’ It was so refreshing to just be in a local, neighborhood business steeped in community values.

I can't remember the name of the technician who did my furnace tune-up today, but he was great! Prompt, thorough, and friendly. He also fixed a rattle in my vent that has been bugging me for 3+ years now! I recommend this company.

Scheduled Welter to replace a dead thermostat. Ben was prompt, and quickly installed and configured the new thermostat I had purchased. We were chatting during his install, and in passing, I mentioned that the furnace seemed slow to ignite occasionally, and was wondering if I should schedule a checkup for that. He said, “No, No, I need to look at that while I’m here.” Long story short, he found a deficiency and fixed it. Furnace fires up immediately now, every time. I appreciated his concern and his fix: the kind of service I’ve had with them for some time.

So, our AC went out after 25 years. We got 3 quotes to replace the AC, and do some additional tasks, such as install a double return register and supply register in our basement. Very frustrated with different approaches and estimates of the 3 HVAC companies i got quotes from. Out of despetation thought I'd get one more quote, Ray Welter. What a godsend. From the first call talking with Todd to the install by Don and his crew on Friday, nothing but class, first rate service and honest professionalism. They said we didn't need a new humidifier on our furnace, didn't need a new air filter box, and didn't really need a furnace checkup based on it only being 6 years old. Got a new Trane AC, the registers in basement amazing, everything looks great and the cost was $4,000 than the other bidders, with 3 year, no interest payments. Absolutely the best experience. HIRE WELTER, the best in the business.
