When our furnace was tagged, I called Ray Welter to see if they could help. They had a backlog of work, so they're weren't able to take the job. However, they recommended a couple of different HVAC companies they knew to be reputable. I thought this was very professional demonstrates high integrity. I'll be happy to recommend Ray Welter to others based on this experience.

Ray Welter just installed a new furnace after ours gave out. We've never used them before, but the great reviews here convinced me to give them a call. I'm so glad I did--we got exceptional customer service from the kind gentleman who answered the phone and was so concerned about my kids getting cold, to the technicians who came and out and talked us through all our options, to the folks who installed our new unit efficiently and cleanly. Their advice was solid and they didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. They fit us in the very next day! I can't can say enough good things about this company, they have a new customer for life.

Really excellent service and friendly technician. They’re honest, fair and timely. We will definitely use their services again in the future.

We recently moved into a new home and unfortunately found out quickly that our AC unit wasn’t cooling. We called Welter for a second opinion after receiving a recommendation from a large chain company to replace both furnace and AC units totally ~$10k+ (after a 5-minute look). I called Welter at 6:30pm, they took down my info. I received a call back at 9am the next day and they were out to our house by noon. Even better, within the hour they had a recommendation & got our AC up and running for a fraction of the cost.

I would have left a 5-star review even if they couldn’t fix it solely based on the interactions I had with them: friendly, honest & I never felt like they were “pushy” or just wanting to make a sale.

They’ve earned my trust and I would recommend them to anyone! (Plus I will be calling them if any other issues arise!)

I called Ray Welter to get a second opinion when another reputable company quoted me what seemed like a very high amount to replace my furnace motor. Scott quickly looked up the part and priced out the repair, quoting me less than half the cost of the other company. He installed the part quickly and my heat was back up and running. They were so honest and communicative, would definitely recommend them and they’ll be my go-to in the future.

We installed mini splits 5 years ago. After getting several bids we went with Welter because we thought they would providevtge best service after installation. And we were right. They have been superb. We are very happy with our mini splits and do not fear the coming hot summer.

AC died on July 4th. I understand many companies can’t offer holiday support due to staffing, and that would’ve been understandable. What’s not reasonable is what I got from Welter: “We do have support available, but it’s only for existing customers.”

So just to be clear the company had staff, had the ability, and acknowledged the problem but explicitly chose not to help because I wasn’t already a paying customer. I hadn’t needed service until now, but I was ready to be one. That policy and the way it was delivered is why I won’t be.

If your model is “we could help, but we won’t,” don’t expect new business from people who need help the most.

Edit: I’m not sure what the owners clarification exactly clarified. Yes you only help existing customers in an emergency. I’m glad you are big enough to have that policy, but that makes it easy to never use you guys for anything now or in the future.

Ray N. Welter Heating Company installed a Mini-split in our detached garage. They were super timely, nice, prepared, and responsive to hiccups that got in the way. They worked around the issue of the electrical company not installing the electricity on time and were very flexible. Instillation took no time at all and they cleaned up after they were done. You could not tell even that work had been done. Would recommend to anyone!

Josh was beyond helpful and kind. We just bought our first house and the A/C was having issues right off the bat. He helped get us running and told my husband what we need to keep it running for the time being while we wait to replace it down the road. When the time comes to buy a new system in a year or two we will absolutely be calling them. If you’re looking for an honest and reliable local spot - call Welter!!

They did a wonderful job for us. Scheduling was easy. They were very responsive and communicative. We had Ralph out to do the work and he did a great job. He was very nice and very knowledgeable. We had him fix some Nest thermostat and zoning issues we had. He also did a full check and tuning of our AC and heat. And most importantly, he hooked up our gas for an outdoor firepit and grill. I would highly recommend using this company.

After getting several bids for a new furnace and ac, I ended up with Ray Welter. They checked all the boxes. Great products, great prices, great service and the install looks amazing.

Guy came out and walked me through all the options and what would work best in my home. Answered all my questions honestly and no pressure at all. Even my cat was super friendly to him.

Couple weeks later, install came and the guys were professional. I’d check in with them from time to time and they were personable and would kid around. At the end they walked me through all my new stuff and andwered all sorts of questions i had.

Could not be happier with what i got. Stay away from the big guys with commercials all over. Just give these guys a call. Great products, great service and great prices.

Got a second opinion from these guys after Genz Ryan tried to tell me I needed a brand new unit. They found the actual problem and fixed it quickly and professionally and for a very reasonable price which was far less than a brand new unit. Highly recommend!

Excellent experience all around. My furnace had a tricky issue where it kept shutting off too soon, and when the first solution didn't work Travis was able to return the next day to keep investigating. He kept digging until he found the source of the problem (a weird quirk with my humidifier and a sensor it was triggering!) and explained everything very clearly. Great customer service, reasonable prices, and excellent results. Happy to have found my go-to HVAC company!

I'm an old guy who has lived in my home for over thirty years. About a week ago I started noticing some changes in the air flow from my furnace and how it was was sounding. When I checked, I found the utility room much hotter than ever before and knew something was very wrong.
My son told me that he had great experiences with Ray N Welter, so I called then for help. They responded very quickly.
Service Tech Travis came and diagnosed my system. He was great !! He explained what he found in terms I could understand, discussed my options and fixed my problem.

We bought a house with an older furnace and water heater knowing they would eventually need replaced. When the day came, we got Ray N. Welter Heating Company's name from a neighbor. We're so glad we called them. We can't recommend them enough.

Don and Pete were class acts. They arrived early, and with the help of a third employee who graciously offered to help when his job finished early, they installed 2 new systems by 3pm the same day. All three employees worked so well together and were kind about each other's work, which is a testament to the overall company culture.

They kept us informed along the way and never made us feel like a burden when we came down and asked questions while they worked. They didn't rush out at the end and instead stayed until all our questioned were answered.

All of the wiring and piping they ran was tidy and their price was more than fair. We will continue to use this company for the rest of our residence here in Minneapolis, and will recommend them to anyone who asks.
