Appliance Repair reviews in Lincoln, Nebraska

This is the 2nd time in 5 years I needed my washer repaired. I was lucky enough to get the same person. He was fast, knew what he was doing, and very personable. Thanks.
-
Technician was prompt and friendly. Very quick to identify what he felt was the issue, however the cost to have it repaired was extremely expensive. I would recommend checking on other companies to quote repair costs. $200 is really alot to pay when there are more reasonable options available.

Ali was so unexpected. He was on-time professional and just incredibly thoughtful. Went through the whole dishwasher and made sure everything is perfect but not for the upsell reasons just genuinely professional. Only able to give 5 stars would have give 10

I would not recommend using these people for any coin-operated or commercial machines. Called them out to get a coin box loose for washing machine. They disassembled coin mechanism, troubleshot it, put it back together after figuring out they can't fix it. Then it wouldn't accept any quarters at all and they charge me $190 for to basically break my machine, even after I told him it's put back wrong and its not lined up right. Then they told me they were going to look into parts I can to replace coin box and send me a link, and never followed up like they said. Thankfully I found one myself but basically I paid $190 and got a broken washing machine in return. Only good that came of it is they recommended a locksmith drill it after finding out lock is loose on coin box, who got it open and fix the parts they broke for me. Definitely won't be a return customer unfortunately.

Bryce responded to my refrigerator problem. He was professional and knowledgeable. I have added Hometown Heroes to my phone book and have been sharing my good experience widely!

I had a maintenance service, then a warranty service, on my Washer/Dryer combo unit. Hometown Hero was quick to respond & very thorough. Ali was great to work with, explaining everything along the way. All of my questions were answered patiently & clearly.
Professional, knowledgeable & caring. -
He was very thorough and knowlegdable. He even checked appliances filters. I was very happy with his service and the price.

Very good experience! Got a comprehensive explanation of the problem and even a demonstration for how to check and operate the fridge timer if future problems occur. Very happy with the service.

***Update***
I just want to thank Hometown Hero Appliance Repair's leadership for reaching out to make things right by taking my $79 solution for the service call (they credited me back the excess paid prior). Seeing as I value their experts time, $79 is justified and my hats off to them for making my experience right. Although I had to buy a new washer, it's just a matter of time when another appliance of mine will have "a bad day" and I will give them another call 🙂

Hopefully, this will help the next person along as unfortunately my experience was a complete 180 from the last experience. When they last came out, they were amazing at fixing my dryer and at what I considered a fare price so you can imagine that I was happy to call them back when my washer started acting up.
I was really excited this morning as upon calling to setup the appointment, they had availability this afternoon (28 Oct 2025 between 2:00-5:00 p.m.) and so all was well as I waited for my appointment. I had even sent in a picture this morning to show what was going on with comments that there was water and grease coming from the bottom of my washer (see photo attached with comments) that was emailed to them and confirmation returned that they received.
The technician arrived in that time window and within 30 seconds of interaction (upon scooting out my washer from the wall) confirmed his suspicions as the greece and water was on the floor. He stated that he could quote the repair but I'd be better off replacing it with a new one as the repair costs would cost more).
The entire interaction took about 3 to 4 minutes as it took him one 1 minute to confirm his suspicions (knew the problem from my picture and description of the problem sent in earlier) and the other 3 minutes looking up the exact cost of that repair (which when populated, it was indeed way over the cost of buying a new washer). I told him that it was an easy decision then as I would proceed to go out and buy a new washer, but was now faced with a $158 service fee.
I asked the technician if there was a way they could reduce that charge (I didn't ask for a full refund as I valued their time for coming out) but $158 was a little much for less than 4 minutes of their time when the picture sent in and my descriptions of my issues relayed prior to the customer representative were exactly what they thought and was the confirmed issue (as my intent was to avoid this). I was given incite that they couldn't do anything and I would need to reach out to customer service after charging me the full $158.
I contacted customer service right afterwards and because it was so fast of an interaction, the technician hadn't had the notes in yet and so the customer representative had to make a phone call to get the full details. I asked them if they'd be willing to meet me in the middle at a 50% solution at $79 (as I respected their time for coming out) but my pictures and comments sent in earlier showcased the exact issue that was the confirmed diagnosed (1 min diagnosis confirmation and 3 min to look up a repair cost of $652/more than I paid for that washer new). They promptly called me back and stated that they can only give me $30 credit was the best they could offer so a disappointment.
Understandable that they're in the business of appliance repair, but it's hard to justify a good review for a 1-minute interaction and 3 minutes of looking up a quote. Especially, when the pictures and description of the issue sent in 6 hours earlier promptly described the exact issue over the phone (when setting up the appointment/pinpointed the confirmed diagnosis), but they felt it best to come out to charge that $158 for a service call knowing the problem already.
Nothing against Derek (the repairman) or Deshawn (the customer service representative) as I'm hoping that management is willing to make this right as I actively sought them out for positive past interactions and I feel they knew the exact problem before arrival and came out to collect the full service fee and took advantage of me and my family. -
My tech i think his name was Kelvin. He was EXCELLENT. His attitude and demeanor was the most professional I experienced in a long time. Thank you for send him.

The phone support setting up the appointment was professional and kind. The technician was informative on time and professional. I was sincerely expecting a crappy experience with your classic "repairman"... But it was the absolute opposite. Derek was fantastic. Not only did he quickly diagnose the problem, but he also showed me how to correct it in the future if I wanted to do it myself. It was literally a throwback to how your hometown repairman taught you things besides just fixing it, taking a check and walking away. Five stars easily. And if anything else breaks that they can fix I will be calling them.

This is my first time having to call a professional repair company to repair my clothes dryer. Derek was my repair man he was really nice and explained and showed me what needed to be fixed. I ended up having to replace 3 parts for my dryer which was kinda pricey but ok with me cuz I have a really nice set that I didn't want to just replace the dryer I wanted mine fixed. It took a couple days to get the parts ordered but that was ok also. I'm just happy to have someone that really knew what the problem was and able to fix it for me. My dryer works great now. I'm very happy with the company and with Derek. He was cool about everything and made my first time having to call a professional a good experience. I told him if I knew anyone in need of appliance repair that I would definitely recommend them. I would use this company every time if needed. Thank you .

Kept me well informed about arrival expectations. Knowledgeable and friendly technician. Darren even had the needed part on his truck! Quick repair! And my dryer was 30 years old! Very pleased with the service.

Hometown Hero was able to send someone out same day to look at our broken fridge. Ali was professional, helpful, and personable. I really appreciated that he took time to offer general maintenance advice on all our appliances, not just the one he was working on. The replacement part we needed was expensive, but the cost of the actual service was very reasonable.

The heating elements in my stove would not work. Called Hometown and got an appointment scheduled within a day of my issue. Providing them with model and serial number of my stove allowed them to expedite my issue quickly. My issue turned out to be less common, which may have been the cause of a higher price. Technicians were knowledgeable and quick to fix the issue. Polite and professional service. 5/5, would recommend.

What an amazing find! Our oven broke and we knew replacing it would be expensive and wasteful. So glad I found this place. They were easy to schedule, up front regarding potential costs and options, and extremely communicative. Our tech, Jimmy, was very knowledgeable and went the extra mile to get us taken care of . Highly recommend!

The first tech was really nice and walked me through his diagnostic process to identify the mechanical timer in my dryer was not sending any power to the heater. I only know this because the technician walked me through hos diagnostics process. A few days later, the timer showed up and another tech installed the part and made sure the dryer functioned properly. He even gave us some advice of not turning the switch counter clockwise in order to prevent it from failing again. Overall great service and will be using them for future appliance issues

We loved Daniel! We had a really complicated repair that took
Many reschedules and parts coming in wrong. This company worked so hard to get the job done. Thank you! -
Called for an issue with our dryer not working correctly. Tech came out on a Saturday and correctly diagnosed the issue. I will say what confused me about working with them is all the phone numbers showed up as Lincoln, Nebraska numbers. I didn’t answer their calls because of this, I assumed they would be Columbia numbers.

The service tech was professional and knowledgeable. He worked with the manufacturer to get us the parts we needed as the repair was extensive. I highly recommend Andy’s.
