Always a great experience with Cardwell! We purchased the platinum membership after many years with them and couldn’t be happier. Always professional and excellent at what they do. Recently got a new HVAC and furnace that are working beautifully. Thanks Cardwell!

From the initial service call to John coming out and suggesting a new system to the install team, everything went flawless. Everyone was very professional, knowledgeable, and respectful of our time and home. They did not try to oversell us, listened to what we wanted and executed in a timely matter. Highly recommend their service with no hesitation.

We had Mike come by and do our winter maintenance. He’s absolutely fantastic. Took the time to explain what everything was. Answered all my questions. Gave me his true and honest opinion about our system, what needed to be done more urgently, what could possibly wait, and things to consider moving forward. His honest feedback was truly appreciated. He’s very much exceptional, and we would be happy to have him come back to do our maintenance in the future.
UPDATE:
So unfortunately I’m feeling compelled to write a bit of an update on the status of The service that was done. It’s now been a few months with the new furnace, water heater, and air condenser. The furnace was working great to heat up the house. Our biggest concern was the upcoming summer as the last few years have been torturous with the heat waves that we’ve been getting. We knew our system was old and needed to be replaced. We were made very confident by the sales person that a two-step system was the way to go so that we could get adequate cooling upstairs where our bedroom is.
Needless to say, it’s been miserable. We even brought the company back to inspect and make sure everything was OK and it wasn’t just a faulty installation. They promptly came and evaluated the system and said that this was likely always going to be an issue because there’s not enough fan power to blow the air upstairs. I thought that’s what the two step system was for…?? Now I know it was just for the sale as it was a higher priced product. I can’t say not disappointed. In order to get more fan power, we would have to break through a wall installed fans into the vents and that’s a few extra thousand dollars (if that…). I’m just tired of the salesmen who make promises and sell you snake oil. I’m not an HVAC technician so I got to trust in what you’re telling me and these days you just can’t trust anyone. Disappointed -
Jeffrey was professional and knowledgeable. He recommended a repair that probably saved me thousands of dollars of dollars. Appreciate the thoroughness of the maintenance of my heating system

Yes, James came to my home to check my home’s heater. Regular inspection. He was courteous and on time. Showed 2 things he would fix/replace. Did his work and showed me the old part he replaced.
-
James the technician was great! He was very knowledgeable, honest and the job was performed flawlessly. Within four hours I made an appointment, James arrived, went and picked up the part and completed the job. Glad I was able to find a family owned business. You do not receive that personal attention from the larger HVAC companies.

Unfortunately I don’t remember my techs name but I am very pleased with his service. My wife and I just recently purchased a house and when we got our security system installed, the tech did not set up our thermostat correctly. When I went to go turn on the heat, it was just blowing out cold air so I called Cardwell on a Saturday and within two hours they had somebody here and within 30 to 45 minutes he figured out the problem and we had heat flowing. I am very grateful that the gentleman came out and I didn’t have to wait until Monday.

Pleasure working with Cardwell for our new HVAC system. John was great at breaking down our options and reassuring us along the way!

We called Cardwell when our existing HVAC company failed to respond to our call from emergency service. Our experience with Cardwell was wonderful: Jessica, who took our initial call, Nick and Julian, who got out promptly and fixed our heater, and Sara, who took our call early in the morning for a follow up visit.

My experience has been terrible! I looked on the website and spoke to the chat and they said estimated were free for my water boiler. However, when I called the representative said its $104 consultation fee this is misleading. Kindly provide justice. Thanks.

We called Cardwell HVAC & Plumbing to run diagnostics on our very old furnace. Niko, Cardwell’s technician, walked me through the system showing me the critical components, issues with the diagnostics and compared his current measurements to the data they had collected a few years prior. I was impressed by his ability to look up and show the data from their previous visit, e.g., pictures of in and out flue temperatures, co2 levels. Niko was excellent in being able to convey the current state of the system.

Jefferey was a pleasure to work with. He was able to diagnose our heating issues & was thorough in explaining our options. He showed photos and videos to explain the root causes & was able to resolve the issue when the necessary parts came in. He was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and professional.

Summary: In January 2026, my 64 year old boiler died, and I got it replaced by Cardwell. I was very happy with everybody from Cardwell that I talked to, the person who came out to do the estimate, and everybody who came out to do the replacement and repairs, and highly recommend them if you have any boiler issues. Don't be afraid to ask questions, as they will happily provide you with the answers and explain everything to you so you end up having a better understanding of how your home heating works.
Repair tech: Initially when my boiler first died, I called a few places to get it looked at for potential repairs, and Cardwell was the only one who could come out on a Sunday. Sunday counted as an emergency day or whatever its called, so it cost $109 for the tech to come out. From what I can tell calling other places, this is actually a very reasonable fee for weekend services. After the tech looked at everything, the tech brought me into the basement where the boiler is to explain exactly what is wrong, and why the boiler was in its current state very dangerous to operate. The tech answered any questions I had, and based on the current state of the boiler he had to "red-tag" the boiler, which from what I can tell means "operate at your own risk". I ended up buying two space heaters from VHR hardware for $20 a piece and moved the family all into one room to sleep.
Estimate: On Monday I took the day off and had two companies come out to do an estimate. The first company kept pushing me into a combi-boiler system which I did not want, and then reluctantly provided me a quote for a non-condensing boiler. The person from Cardwell who came out to do the estimate listened to what I wanted, agreed with the concerns with I had for the other combi-boiler quote, and gave me a better quote than the other company did for replacing the boiler with a standard non-condensing unit. My old boiler was 125k BTU, which is a size that is not made anymore, so they bumped me up to a 150k BTU model. After I accepted the offer, they scheduled me for Thursday, and the job was scheduled to be completed around 3pm Thursday. They also bring over oil-filled space heaters after you accept, so I ended up not using the space heaters I purchased.
Payment: I payed in full, which means you pay 50% the day you accept the job, and the other 50% when the job is completed. They did an ACH transfer from my savings account.
Install: The day of the install I worked from home. There were 3 people from Cardwell who came to do the install, later joined by a fourth person. They laid down drop-cloths and were considerate and respectful of my home. After they were finished with the install, they showed me how everything was installed and answered all the questions I had. Before the install, when my heat was working, I had two pumps and two zones, but both thermostats (first floor and second floor) both controlled both zones. After the install, it ended up being the same way, so the working theory was that both thermostat wires were spliced together somewhere in the wall.
Repair tech #2: After looking into it myself for a few days, I realized that the thermostat spliced wire theory didn't hold water. When I turned on the first floor thermostat, the "ZONE 1" LED on the controller turned on, and the "ZONE 2" LED on the controller stayed off. Similarly, when I turned on the second floor thermostat and turned off the first floor thermostat, i saw that "ZONE 1" LED stayed off, and "ZONE 2" LED stayed on. I called Cardwell about my concerns and they offered to send out a tech to investigate, free of charge. When the tech arrived, I explained everything to him, and after some investigation he saw that the zone pumps were wired into the "AUX 1" and "AUX 2" terminals instead of the "ZONE 1" and "ZONE 2" terminals. He switched where the pump wires were, and then everything worked as expected, and for the first time since I moved in, I had two zone heating again. Again, this was free and no service fee or dispatch fee was charged. -
Heater stopped maintaining temp so we called Cardwell. Our tech showed up on the earlier part of the 3 hour window which is always appreciated. He went to work and got to the root cause of the problem very quickly. Heat is back on and the price was not crazy for an after 5pm visit.

Ed and the guys did an incredible job on my new AC condenser and furnace install, they removed old units and relocated seamlessly. Job well done gentleman very clean work. Much appreciated Cardwell, we are very pleased with our decision, you will not be disappointed! Also big thanks to Tony in sales and Chelsea with top tier customer service who made sure we were in the loop the whole process!

I was really disappointed with my experience with Cardwell. They charged a dispatch fee just to come out and tell me I needed a brand-new unit(which was not true, it ended up being a $500 fix) - no effort provide an alternative repair option with the cost associated. The technician said that with an older unit, it’s “not worth repairing,” which makes me wonder why that wasn’t mentioned over the phone before taking my money. If the company doesn’t work on or repair older systems(and is just going to recommend a new unit for anything over x years), they should be upfront about that and save customers the unnecessary fee.
Thankfully, I called D. Nelson Inc for a second opinion - he fixed it the same day for $500(both parts and labor). It’s worth noting that the technician who came out was friendly and professional - he seemed like he was just following company policy. My frustration is with the business practices, not him personally. Overall, the experience felt predatory and misleading, knowing I wouldn't have the knowledge to challenge the assessment and making me think it was my only option. I wish I had called D Nelson first. If you are having an issue with your HVAC, call D Nelson. He has no dispatch or diagnostic fee and will give you an honest and fair assessment and price. -
We met Jeffrey when our AC unit went down and had an awful smell. He was polite, funny and most importantly, knowledgeable.
This time it was our water heater. Again, he explained things well and answered all of our questions. The job was done quickly and we are very happy with the results. -
We needed emergency service for our heater on one of the coldest days so far. We are so happy Nico came out and went over everything and was very honest and helpful. Unfortunately we need a new heater, but we will be dealing with Cardwell to get everything done. Thank you so much for coming out! Edit: New HVAC unit installed and the guys kept everything clean and were very nice. Thanks again!

I've called Cardwell for a few plumbing issues the past two years. Tyler has been the plumber that they have sent each time. He always does an excellent job. He's courteous, knowledgeable and efficient.
A technician, Eric, was sent to look at my furnace. He explained everything to me well, and I trusted the suggestion he had made for a maintenance job. The women I speak with in the office are always friendly and really try to be accommodating with my schedule.I'm very grateful my coworker told me about this company. -
I’ve used Cardwell several times. They are always professional and responsive. Most recently they installed a mini split unit for my basement to provide more heat. Great job and they kept me informed the entire time.

The tech Julian was great he came out. Told me about the membership and advised me to get one. So glad because the heating/ac system needs to be replaced. A tech is coming out today to quote that. Not what you want to happen at Christmas but Cardwell is very good and quick with service
