I was looking up plumber near me in Emerson and came across Hofmeister — I’ve used them a couple times now and they’ve been great every time. Last week we had a weird smell coming from the basement and it turned out to be a small sewer line issue. They showed up on time, explained everything clearly, and got it fixed without making a mess.

You can tell they actually care and aren’t just trying to rush through the job. Harold even followed up the next day to make sure everything was still running smoothly. That kind of service is hard to find these days.

Oh the horror of coming home to a hot, hot, hot house! My air conditioning system was not working. I called what I thought to be my faithful heating and a.c company only to learn their salesperson did not advise that when replacing the air handler 18 months ago, the condenser should have been replaced along with it. The new law is both must match. To make a long story short, there was no way I was ripping out a practically new air handler. And old faithful was uncertain if they could locate a compatible condenser.

A client recommended Hofmeister to the rescue. From the moment I called, I knew I was in capable hands. Nancy, who answered the phone is nothing short of fantastic. Knowledgeable, calm and efficient. Sean, the air conditioning maestro is amazing. Nancy was able to locate a compatible condenser within 2 hours. Sean came to thoroughly check my entire air conditioning system for compatibility. We had Hoffmeister Plumbing come to replace a faucet with sprayer on a Friday afternoon. Nancy kept in touch and let us know that he was running a little behind. Jesus showed up around 4:45 pm. He was dressed cleanly, he was not tired from previous work. He did an excellent job with the faucet and we know we will definitely call back for the other faucets in our home when needed. Jesus was a very good worker! Fast, polite and cleaned the area before leaving!!!

I was desperately looking for a master plumber.
I had a toilet repaired twice and the problem kept reoccurring. The original plumber was not responding to my call or text messages.
When I called Hofmeister, it felt like the “old days” when your call was actually answered by a human being and not an answering machine.
I spoke to Nancy who listened to my ongoing saga of toilet problems. She was easy to talk to and said we can be there.
Jesus showed up On Time . The owner Harold came over to check that everything was ok. Nancy called me while they were repairing toilet to make sure my concerns were addressed. The fee was less than I paid the previous plumber. I was told to call if I had any issues.
I waited over a week to leave this review because I was nervous that the toilet problem would reoccur. It has not.
All is well.
I want to thank Nancy, Harold and Jesus for a job well done. Their integrity is something that should be lauded.

I rent a 2nd floor of a house. I have had issues and repeatedly told my landlord about the issues. After speaking to Nancy on 10/7/2025 and telling her my problems. Nancy told me exactly what was wrong and what needed to be repaired and how. After telling this my landlord he had is plumber come today 10/8/2025 and they made all the necessary repairs. Jesus came to our house as promised early.He installed a new 0.5 inch valve to connect with a GE ice maker refrigerator and ran needed water tests and purge the line to get rid of trapped air. I considered his work was outstanding since all connections were made in a crawl space and back of refrigerator. Excellent work by Jesus throughout the installation.
