One of the worst companies I ever hired charge me $15,000 I gave them 7500 down could not find my sewer pipe walked off the job walked off job after 10 hours. Nothing got done put a big hole never called me. Had to hire another company to come in and use the right tools to find the pipe completed the job in one day stay clear of this company now I have to go to court to get my money back basically paid them 7500 To dig a hole what a mistake hiring them they were guessing where the pipe would be and we’re wrong then want more money so they could do the whole job from the sewer trap out to the street with a course over 30,000

The workers were personable, and did their job well, with only one issue. The issue being, the toilet does not seem to be working after the apartment's water supply was restored. However, that may be an issue to discuss with the landlord, rather than the plumbing company, itself. I will edit this review accordingly, when I have the answer.

Harris Water Main & Sewer are amazing. From the moment that their front man "Elvis" arrived, we were relieved. He walked us through the whole process and everything went according to plan. We've been 100% satisfied with everything related to our decision to use them.

My experience with Harris was excellent. They took on a job, AWR made every possible excuse not do and NYC Water failed to help with. They completed the job with no issues. Thank you for my new sewer connection, caused be rot, Harris Water Maun & Sewer Conn. Need the job done quickly and a reasonable price, call Harris Water & Sewer.

When I needed my sewer pipe replaced, the only company I trusted to do the job was Harris. They serviced my building way back in the mid-80's, and that says a lot about their quality of work and their customer service. You HAVE to be good to stay in business that long! I went to them on a Monday and was able to get an emergency appointment the following Thu. They came on time and finished the job in less than a week. I highly recommend them.

I can’t praise Harris Water Main and Sewer Contractors Inc. enough. From the opening estimate with Elvis to the completion of a sewer line put in correctly, their work was outstanding!
They worked hard and precisely to save a precious tree that survived generations, and was almost in line with the sewer pipe.
Even though the crew was tired they made the effort to put back hedges and bushes to their original place on my yard. Days later, they replaced the cement sidewalk beautifully!

Elvis responded promptly to our pleas of urgency right away. We had a backed up sewer line and knew that it needed to be replaced immediately because we had raw sewage surging from the pipe. We had received 2 other quotes and Harris Sewage was the most reasonable. Elvis was very fair, honest and knowledgeable. Their competitors in comparison were dishonest and scammers, trying to pad the bill with unnecessary extras such as, tree removals, a new sewer trap, and additional pipe replacements that were totally unnecessary.
A few days later a crew arrived at 8:00 am and worked tirelessly, digging a 25-foot long trench that was 10 feet deep and 5 feet wide. They found that the ceramic pipe was broken and raw sewage was leaking into the ground! They braced the dirt with wood and replaced the pipe in a day and a half! Danny was an outstanding superman who and worked tirelessly from 8:00-5:00 even in the pouring rain! They were honest workers and did their job well and with integrity even when I wasn’t supervising them! I am so grateful for these guys and Elvis and would personally recommend them whole-heartedly!

In order to be fair to Harris Water Main and Sewer, I am going to break this review into four parts: Estimates, permits, the work itself, and the restoration/concrete work (which appears to be done by a thirdparty).

Estimates - Elvis was assigned to my job and I can honestly say that he was exceptional. He took the time to make sure that I understood what the issue was and what needed to be done to resolve it, either temporarily or permanently. Despite receiving several other much less expensive quotes, I decided to proceed with Harris because of my confidence in Elvis.

Permits - Despite being told that my quote involved expediting the permits, it took almost 7 weeks and additional $2500 in fees, above the initial $32,560 quote, to get the required permits and for Harris to start the work. Given that this is what Harris does for a living I was a little taken back by both the timeline and the 'unexpected' fees. Due to these delays, I ended up spending another few thousand dollars on temporary fixes.

The work - The job itself went extremely smooth. Absolutely no complaints about the work or the clean up. Five stars in this category.

The restoration - This is where the wheels completely fell of the bus. About two weeks after the job was finished I received a call from Matt from their accounting department informing me that the restoration (concrete work) had been completed and that the remaining balance as due. Side note - Normally they expect payment in full once their work is done, but I had negotiated $1000 final payment to ensure that I had a way of motivating them to complete the restoration portion as well. Well, long story short the crew had fixed the sidewalk but had forgot to do the actual driveway. Fast forward 3 months, countless phone calls, and four different guarantees that a crew would be there on a certain day and time to complete the job, which required finding parking alternatives each time, it's finally done.

That said, despite the amount of time and effort it took to get actually get this job done, you know they called me the very next day to collect their final payment.

Summary - While I am happy with the end result, I would not recommend Harris based on my experience with them.

We had a water main leak which, after two months of evaluation, DEP ruled was our problem. Harris provide their bid promptly on a Friday, fixed the leak the following wednesday in in the rain, and within the following couple of work days had the asphalt and new concrete completed. Harris also was the lowest bid. Great experience.

This was my first occasion working with Harris Sewar on my job site. The foreman on site was very attentive to our expressed needs. This particular job site is an occupied rehab, so the safety of residing tenants and daily pedestrian traffic was our number one priority. They had all permits, flaggers, signage and street closure needed to make the operation as smooth as possible. I would recommend them for my next job.

I hired Harris Water Main & Sewer to replace the lead water main service line to one of my properties. They were easy to work with, explained the process and showed up on time and ready to get the job done. They had to run copper pipe from my home to the city's main line and they did so with minimal damage and disruption to the home. The area that they cut to install the pipe was done so, extremely neatly. I highly recommend.

Had my water main and sewer done in 2020. Three years later and Harris is still maintaining their work; came today and resealed the patch in the street. Can't say enough good things about Harris: professional, responsive, quality work, in-and-out, great price, fast and easy to deal with. My husband is a heavy construction professional and he continues to be impressed with their product. Highly recommend Brett and the crew.

Two weeks ago, on January 13, my sewer line broke. Roto-rooter charged me over $2,200 just to diagnose the problem, and then they wanted another $34,000 to replace it. They were only going to guarantee the new sewer for five years. Plus, they said I was responsible for repairing my sidewalk and fence. A friend insisted I call Harris Water Main & Sewer. I did, and thankfully, Elvis Paradis called me back. He came to appraise the job, and he blunty said that Roto-rooter was ripping me off. After consulting the office, he came back with a price of almost $8,000 less than Roto-rooter. Plus, he said that price included repairing my sidewalk and fence. He also gave me a ten year guarantee on the new sewer line, as well as a five year guarantee on the new sidewalk. Needless to say, I immediately cancelled Roto-rooter and hired Harris Water Main and Sewer to replace the sewer line. From the moment I gave Elvis the verbal okay over the phone for Harris to do the work, the staff at Harris kept me in the loop about everything. I was never in the dark. They started the work on Friday, January 17, and finished the next afternoon. And I cannot say enough about those workers either. They were terrific. They were neat, polite, and thorough. Needless to say, everyone at Harris, from Elvis, to the workers doing the job, right down to Mac in the accounting department as well as the rest of the office staff were all terrific. Your entire company went above and beyond to solve our problem, and get our lives back to normal. I don't wish what happened to us on anyone, but if it does, I hope you will follow my lead and call Harris Water Main and Sewer. There's a reason they have been in business since 1918. They are the best at what they do.

The Best in the worst of situations. So DEP leaves me a 3 day shutoff notice at 5:30 in the afternoon, admits the damage is the city’s fault and I. The street , but it’s the homeowners responsibility.

So I called around and found Harris.

First of all, even the office staff is very personable, you’d think you were talking to a small business who actually cared about your situation, which was greatly appreciated. Then the guys show up at the job site promptly as scheduled and started working immediately, in real life…. Nothing goes exactly according to plans… and yet every obstruction they hit, they found solutions immediately and you could tell these men knew their job thoroughly. They worked so hard I felt compelled to buy them lunch from a sit down Vietnamese restaurant of pork chops and rice and chicken for the Muslim brothers ☺️
Even then, I had to yell at them to eat, but they wanted to get the install done first to make sure I get my water on asap… I was dumbfounded… men with true mens work ethics… an absolute rarity these days. All in all, not only would I recommend Harris Water main and Sewers, I’ll say, if you want to know what it’s like to truly work with professionals in your sewer and water main issue… Harris is the only place I’d call.

Thank you guys for an amazing job done, in a ridiculously short amount of time…. But then again, that’s what getting an expert gets you!

Great job and thank you again!

The work was impeccable .The timely staff was pleasant and answered every question I could have. When I didn't know what a term meant Michael and his team were able to give me some very specific actionable points of understanding .Very happy with the work definitely and would recommend them for any type of Water main and Sewer issue. A 3-day notice is no joke from the city but they made the process very easy to deal with. Thank you and I might add just talking to the back office and their team was impeccable. Kevin made certain and double checked the work was done to my satisfaction. Very friendly 100% ,I would recommend them
