Called them on a Saturday morning with a sewer issue. The plumber showed up, ran the water for 20 minutes and left - he didn't snake anything nor actually inspect the plumbing and charged $230 for the pleasure. Never again, Hertel Hardware & Plumbing.

Not a great experience. My tub handle was leaking. The person who came out said he had never seen one like that before. It was a Kohler. He told me that he would have to charge me by the hour while he drove around the city (Home Depot, Pennys?) to look for the part. I find this to be ridiculous. I called them because they are plumbers and I am not. They simply could not fix the problem. They are a hardware store. They should be able to get the part or know where to get it if they don't have it. I don't mind if they come back another time, but that was not an option. I told them Seneca Plumbing sells Kohler, but I was told "We don't have an account there." I'm thinking to myself so what? Pay cash, go online, whatever. I was left to deal with the situation myself.
They also completely ignored another problem I had mentioned.
The solution they gave me for a slow flushing toilet was CLR which I knew did not work because I have already tried it. Also the slow draining tub they "fixed" drains slow a day later. Last, he said he may have to get on the roof to check the air supply for the plumbing but could not do it today as he had two other calls to get to, which means even if I did take him up on his offer to charge me to drive to Home Depo to look for the part, he could not have done it anyway. Feel like I paid $170 bucks for nothing.

Hertel Hardware came to the rescue. Needed a new furnace asap and they took care of it right away. They also corrected issues that my last installation left behind. Great price, great service!!! Thanks HH!

My tenant called and told me the heat was out (on an 8 degree Buffalo morning no less!) I called HH, within a half hour a repair guy was at the house, he located the part and finished the job. Total time from my initial phone call to the completion of the job was 2 hours. The workers were pleasant, its obvious the owners/management want their customers treated well and understand how to obtain repeat business. Fair price too. Great N Bflo business.

Had slow hot water leak in the shower faucet. Charged $800 and left the building with no hot water for a week and a large hole in the wall.
Best part is the hot and cold water run simultaneously whenever the shower is on now. Worst plumber ever, I will never use them again.

My wife and I recently called Hertel Hardware & Plumbing for the first time. The servicemen (C.J. and Jim) were prompt and polite and completed what were two small jobs promptly and efficiently. Costs were reasonable. Their business manager (Sarah) was helpful in obtaining a copy of paperwork. We will definitely call HHP again when we need plumbing repairs.

This company Hertel Hardware Plumbing Company Inc. stinks, as an ex customer of theirs, I would not recommend them to anyone. The Lady that answered the phone argued with me and raised her voice. I think it was Kelly. Cindy was just as bad. Either way I hired the company to connect my exterior drainage to the city storm sewer. That was on 11/9/14. They said the work would begin on 11/11. They never showed up and called me around noon to tell me they were coming. I had taken off of work that day and the next to make sure the work got done and done right. The next day, 11/12 three guys showed up and started digging for four hours. They got most of it all dug up and then around 2pm the inspector came to shut them down due to not having a permit. When I called the office, Cindy didn't have the permit nor was it filed with the city (until 11/17). The guys didn't put up anything around the concrete sidewalk slab that they busted up and I had to cover it with plywood and pray nobody hurt themselves. Then came back on 11/17 to connect the pipe to the storm sewer and it took 3 guys (2 standing around doing nothing) and the third to connect the pipe to the sewer for 3 hours until the plumbing inspector came. Today one guy came back to lay the sidewalk slab and fill in the ditch for 4 hours. During which I called the office, spoke with the owner as I was upset it took this long and asked why he did work without a permit and he said he never does, but when I went to get the permit, it was dated 11/17 with his signature. So he did work without a permit, blatantly lied to me and is just plain bad business. The guys that did work, when they worked, did work hard. Hertel Hardware & Plumbing Company Inc. review. It took a total of two whole weeks to do a job that should've been done in a day.

Couldn't have asked for a more professional, courteous staff. They answered all of my questions and explained everything they did. Also, incredibly reasonable prices. I have dealt with other plumbers before. I won't call anyone else for my plumbing needs in the future. Jordan and his partner are the best!

Awful experience. I had a clogged drain in the basement, causing ALL kinds of water (and other waste) to come back in. I called them for a snake, and after about 40 minutes, he told me they hit an obstruction at 80ft. and had to come back with a camera. After the $175 i spent on the snake, the start with the camera and "hit another obstruction" at 24 ft. After 20 minutes, they charge me $260 for the camera, and all i got was spray paint on my patio of where the needed to dig. I was told they would have to dig in spot A, to get to the pipe in order to find spot B, where they would dig again. They would send a guy out to give me a quote, which would be anywhere between 5 to 10 THOUSAND dollars. At this point i am already in the hole $470 with these guys and i have no results, information etc.

I called an EXPERIENCED PLUMBER from another company, and he not only educated me on the matter, but was surprised at the lack of experience from Hertel Plumbing.
Hertel Plumbing should have
.......NOT recommnended a camera, as a camera would not make it past the trap outside the house.
........LOOKED AND LISTENED for the snake outside to find the clean out in the yard that would have made things ALOT EASIER.
.......REMOVED THE GUTTERS from the drain, in the meantime, take your gutter drains out of the downspout, as rainwater is better in the yard than backing up into your basement!.

After 2 days NO ONE from Hertel Plumbing came to give me a quote, as they said they would, while i sat there with feces in my basement. They just took the $470, and took off!

LUCKILY, the experienced plumber i called snaked the drain clean for $150 and the problem was SOLVED. In addition, he showed me where the clean out was in case i needed to snake from outside the house.

Hertel Plumbing told me i had a collapsed pipe and a faulty sewer system that would require digging 2 holes to cost between $5,000 and $10,000!!!! After they had taken me for $470.

THE EXPERIENCED PLUMBER pulled out 15-30 tampons that caused the problem, during a simple 20 minute snake session. THAT WAS IT.

Moral of the story, avoid Hertel Plumbing and don't wash tampons down the toilet.

I made an appointment for an estimate on a combination unit for tankless system in my home. They blew me off so I called they apologized and rescheduled. The guy came looked at my boiler room and said he would have numbers for me by mid next week. I waited till end on next week. Never called back. So I called, again women apologize and took my name and number house address. It’s been 3 weeks now. Still no call back. I’m paying cash. Or at least I was. Will be calling a different company now. 3 strikes your out.

I have used H H & P for the last two years as my plumbing sub contractor. They are always on time, their work is incredibly accurate and clean. Their office staff is always energetic, helpful and fun to talk to as well.

Quintin and Rod installed my new furnace. Both were very knowledgeable, professional and had awesome attitudes. I highly recommend Hertel plumbing and heating with employees like them.

Omg! I don’t even know we’re to start, first I want to say hertle plumbing came to my business and executed the job to its perfection and very fare, honest and affordable. They came in and took care of the job ASAP, they also provided the materials at a affordable prize so I dint even have to go out my way and get it. Also the employees was very respectful, responsive and on time which is very important and also I have to add that the owner of this place is an amazing person, fare, humble and very honest, I felt super comfortable and rite away I knew I was in good hands, I will definitely stay in touch for any of my plumbing needs and will only refer hertle plumbing to my family and friends. Very impressed with Hertel Hardware & Plumbing. The main line in my basement was clogged (super gross) and they were able to send a team out right away. Jordan and Derrick were timely, professional and were able to fix the problem right away. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for high-quality plumbing services.

Have used Hertel Hardware a few times now and the level of service as well as quality of work is incredible. Most recently had service from Mike C and Jordan who were extremely efficient, friendly and professional. Extremely satisfied by this hardworking and fair-priced company and would recommend to any one in the Buffalo area.

Second time using them, can't say enough good things. Were able to service within a day of my call. Do a great job with everything they do, and at a fraction of what some of the national chains charge. I called for some help with my shower, and they ended up tightening up some pipes in my basement, and helped with my leaking washing machine all without me asking and without charging me extra, and my shower which probably hasn't been serviced in 50+ years is working like new. Will use these guys for any plumbing issue I have!

They came out just a couple of days after the Blizzard of '22 and were 30 min early and done in under two hours with a new hot water tank.

Price was fair (over half of it was the tank itself) and there was NO upselling or erroneous "emergency" fees due to the storm.

I am very satisfied with my experience.

I have done over $80K worth of work with Hertel and I can't recommend them highly enough. They are highly skilled and fast at a reasonable price. When I call them with issues, they are quick to fix it at a fair price. Kelly, Tony and the whole crew are awesome!
