Plumbing reviews in Rochester, New York

VP PLUMBING has been very helpful and instrumental in our bathroom redesign. With limited staff in the design center, its best to make an appointment. This I learned as they spend in depth time with each customer, making sure design and function come together, and works! With experience in selling directly to plumbers, they know what will work, and all parts needed (what you see and what will be plumbed into your walls, floors or under your sink). Quality of their products made me aware how cheap box stores can be, in comparison. VP offers high quality parts (that makes a difference) and was able to knock down pricing saving us hundreds. You will pay more for this quality, but I only want to do my bathroom redesign, once. I highly recommend VP PLUMBING when doing your price comparison. I will involve them again when i do my kitchen redesign. Rob

Best place in New York for anything kitchen and bath related. Same goes for HVAC, plumbing, etc.. Excellent service, and the quality is unmatched.
Sometimes waiting a tad longer is the way to go if you're looking for the best of the best at unbeatable prices.
Their showroom is very cool, and a must visit when doing any type of renovations/upgrades. -
Their RMA policy leaves a lot to be desired, especially when dealing with Navien equipment. They charge you up front for the replacement, then wait until they have "enough" Navien returns before shipping back to the manufacturer in California. Was told it can take up to 90 days before you get reimbursed. The warranty repair for our customer was done on October 27. They still haven't sent in the old heat exchanger yet and it is December 8th.

VP will gladly sell you the product but will never offer support. Told me to go back to the supplier. Product was 60 days old and didnt operate properly. Salesperson was actually confused as to why I was calling them.
Go to Home Depot or Lowes.
Not to mention 3 calls in to actually even speak to our Salesperson. -
The lady at receiving is so mean and rude.I guess her name is Rena . Unbelievable bad attitude making fun of drivers. Wont come here again. I will refuse this place. Drivers make sure you call before so they can confirm your appointment. If you can reach someone 😂. She will tell you that you don’t have an appointment for today even tho you do have one. Good luck drivers.

My sales rep Candace gavigan was phenomenal! I had several lighting and plumbing fixtures ordered for a remodel and she was very knowledgeable and efficient in helping with all my needs. Thank you for everything Rob

I recently went to Maynard’s to get new light fixtures for our kitchen and dining room and am very pleased with buying experience. My sales associate Amy was very kind and professional and Maynard’s is lucky to have her. The light fixtures are great too. Thanks Amy!

Horrendous customer service!! Such an unpleasant overall experience. Granted we were in the showroom close to closing time but they were more interested in getting us out of the store over taking care of what we wanted to purchase. One of the choices my wife made didn't have a ticket and nobody seemed to be able to figure out how to come up with the needed information that was required to order the light. They assured us they would call the next day. They never did. My wife ended up following up after they were closed for the New Years Holiday and had to leave a message asking someone to call back...which NEVER happened. A complete waste of our time when I just had to go with my wife to another store to go back through the process of looking for fixtures AGAIN

Had great memories going there with my parents and little brother back in the 1980's. There was this cool kid's "playhouse" which was a two-floor cube with steps and a slide. It was 100% built by hand.
What happened to that awesome thing? My brother and I had immense fun in it while our parents were shopping and talking to sales staff. All of these awesome lamps and lights all over the showroom also added to the allure, at least it was to me and my brother when we were wee lads.
Anyway, I'd like to let you guys know that thing was an inspiration for the bunk bed I built for my son several years ago in the basement. Thanks! -
The updated showroom is a great place to get ideas and see the latest fixtures and design trends. To ensure personalized service, it's best to make an appointment. I've used vendors all over Rochester and VP consistently takes great care of me, so I can take care of my customers.

Friendly, helpful folks! We always find what we need when we stop in. Today we needed LED bulbs and advice on fixtures for either side of our garage door. My husband was happy with the bulb options and we got a good start on finding fixtures. I appreciate their patience and willingness to talk through pros and cons of the different choices.

Customer service is terrible, if you receive any. The entire experience is ridiculous. The business will upcharge, try to sell fixtures they either do not have, or do not want, and ignore the customer when returns are necessary. They usually are. Good luck placing and receiving an order. The customer service leaves much to be desired. Buy, then return product, if that's what you're looking to do for your home improvements. If you want help, ask the staff in the back of the house. Front hospitality, isn't hospitality.

Everything the last few reviews have said is true. I ordered a fixture. Said it would take a week. A month later I called and they couldn't find the order (and it took an hour just to get through their system). Then they said they'd order it. A week later, I call again and they say it is no longer made but I'd have to come in for a refund. Meanwhile I found the fixture on the Web in under a minute. And you wonder why people want to buy on the Web rather than buy from you?

Avoid this place. I've been a regular customer over recent years mainly out of convienence. Every time I go, they manage to get something wrong or are just plain slow. Forget if you have something moderately difficult to find as you'll spend an hour sitting there while they try to figure it out. The prices aren't great. If you're a contractor you get better prices, but for the average home owner that has no need for $1000's in parts a month, they're going to gouge you on what you need. Also, watch out for their return policy which is much more restrictive than bigger chains with decent customer service. Don't bother arguing either. The rules aren't designed with customers in mind. You're better off driving elsewhere, as I will now be doing.

My wife and I bought several light fixtures for a home remodel we are doing. One of the fixtures cam damaged and missing parts. After reading the poor reviews on this company i was expecting a unpleasant experience. Boy was i surprised to be taken care of promptly and courteously. I spent a total of 15 minutes in the store and left extremely satisfied. The three women who helped me were awesome. I will definitely shop Maynards again in the future.

Where do I begin on how disappointed I was with the service that I received here? I went into the store on Thursday, 5/16 to look over the selection of bathroom lighting fixtures. I asked how long it would take to get something in and Jim told me, “Probably about a week.” I left the store and came back on Saturday, 5/18 with my husband so that we could pick something out together. Then I was told that the order wouldn’t get placed until Monday, 5/20 and that it might be in by Friday, 5/24 but more likely on Tuesday, 5/28, since they were going to be closed for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. My bathroom contractor was going to at my house daily til 5/28, so that was going I be fine with me.
I called the store on the afternoon of Friday, 5/24 to see if it had come in. The woman who answered the phone said that there was no way it would be in, since the order didn’t even get placed until earlier that day. WHAT?!?!?! I let them know how upset I was that I was so blatantly lied to about when my order would be in.
I just got the call that this was in today, Wednesday, 6/5. “About a week” really means almost 3 weeks. Unbelievable.
Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. -
Stay away from them. I placed a big order with them and they didn't have some pieces in stock. Ended up getting the run around for over a week when i was on a deadline to finish the job. They charged me over $500 in restocking fees when it wasn't even my fault they couldn't provide the product that was promised to get expedited. Cost me tons of time and money there is plenty of other suppliers locally that will take care of their customers better than VP. My contractors nor myself will never use them or make purchases from them again. Repeatly called numerous times, never received any call backs or responses. Horrible customer service..

I had a wonderful and easy experience at VP Supply thanks to a great employee, Ben Vieira. He focused on my needs, was friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. He made excellent recommendations for materials and just made it an easy overall experience. Would Highly recommend VP Supply 10/10

I personally have been dealing with VP Supply since 1983 when I started in the plumbing industry. They used to be off of Brown Street in the city, then they moved to Henrietta, and now look at them, They have locations all over the place now! They are one of the best in this region for all your plumbing supplies.

Excellent place! I brought an old fixture in to see if they could help me cobble together some replacement parts. The guys in the parts area were very kind, generous and helpful. I was able to get the parts I needed. Yes, I had to wait, because that is what you do in America when you want good service. Yes, it was a weekend and places are busy in America on the weekend. Overall, great place with good people.

Never will I go with VP Supply again. The sales rep I worked with was very uninformative on the details with the custom vanity being made. She never followed up with me unless I was the one calling her or emailing her. She did not explain the whole process of a custom vanity such as the counter top is completely separate from the "vanity" itself. One would think when the vanity is finished it's fully finished. Nope! Now I have to wait for the top to be done! BTW.. I placed this order back in February & was told today, June 11th, that I had to sign something in order to get the top in production. I renovated my bathroom & bought fixtures etc from VP Supply. Granted I didn't spend thousands & thousands of dollars from them so maybe her commission wasn't that high but I'm the one spending my hard earned money. Extremely frustrated! Horrible customer service! I feel I have wasted my money!
