We found Lenny through a facebook group when we bought our first home in Apex in 2018. I love that he is the owner of the company and comes to every service call. Lenny has an amazing memory, and always remembers what we talked about! I never feel like I'm being upsold or convinced to do something I'm not ready for. Lenny treats us like family and I always feel like I'm in good hands with his advice. He is easy to communicate with via text and email. We recently bought a new house in Holly Springs and Lenny and his father installed two new HVAC systems and a furnace. His pricing is very fair. I would recommend HDR Air to anyone!

Lenny was a fast worker and a pleasure to work with. He came back same day when I messed up a little bit of his work and fixed it for free. Would absolutely recommend to everyone else and will be calling him again in the future

Lenny was very responsive. We ended up needing to replace our air system. It was over 25 years old but still he wanted to be sure we were completely comfortable in our decision to replace the system. Lenny fully explained why he made the recommendations he did and answered all of my questions thoroughly and simply. I had a previous consult where a lot of unnecessary recommendations were made. Lenny fully explained why the recommendations weren’t needed and helped us spend our money wisely. I would highly recommend them.

Lenny and his assistant were fantastic. They were quick to respond to my concern. They took time to diagnose the problem (which was nothing🤦🏻‍♀️- I just have a heat pump). I wasn’t charged for the visit since there was nothing to fix!

HRD Air is a company I have trusted with my HVAC maintenance and repair needs for the years that I have lived in Cary. They have never been anything other than helpful, honest and easy to deal with.

They have done regular (and timely!) maintenance twice a year on my heating and cooling and have always given good advice when asked for an opinion on what to do in certain situations. As a side note, they were also very accommodating during the covid pandemic and took good care of their customers.

I would not hesitate for a second to hire their services. Totally recommend.

Amazing experience - Lenny made the painful experience of replacing our air conditioning and heating unit as painless as possible. He was quick, responsive, polite, calm, and he and his dad are such a great team!
I had an emergency yesterday morning when I woke up to my garage flooded due to a 15 year old water heater busting. He again was quick, came over right away, calmed my nerves, went out to get parts, and we had beautiful running water by 3pm that same day. Great pricing, fair, and tried to fix before just replacing.

We had two aging HVAC systems that we’ve been nursing along for several years. Both units were struggling to keep up over the summer and I received Lenny Jr.’s contact info from a friend who had used them in the past and had great things to say. He was very quick to respond, gave us several options for how to address the problems with our systems, as well as the pros and cons of each option and associated costs.

He did advise that we would definitely need to think about replacing our systems in the near future, but was not in any way pushy or sales-ish.

He was able to get us fixed up as a holdover very quickly that same afternoon, and even went above and beyond to take care of another issue without being asked, at no extra charge.

This is absolutely a first rate family business, and I will gladly call them or recommend them anytime I can.

They took the time to explain to us the problems with our system and all our options. They really went above and beyond, and we were so impressed and grateful for their service and care.

We have been using HRD for our seasonal maintenance and recently had them replace our entire HVAC system. Soon after, we had a disagreement about a damper motor issue that we felt should have been identified and resolved during the HVAC replacement. We were going to move on and find another company but Lenny Sr. personally reached out to make things right. He apologized and was very responsive to our concerns. He took the time to look at the issue himself and resolved it to our satisfaction. We truly appreciate the level of customer service and quality of work we got from him.

Lenny Sr. and Curtis did an excellent job in servicing our HVAC today in the HEAT! In fact, they came a day earlier than expected, which we really appreciated. Both Lenny Sr. and Curtis were knowledgeable, honest, kind, and worked quickly to get our cold air moving again.

We are repeat customers and will certainly call them again!

The HVAC company we were using for quite a number of years and contacted with for seasonal maintenance couldn’t find the time to install a new unit. Our unit was still working but we wanted to replace it before the heat set in. We were referred to HRD and within one week our unit was replaced. The guys at HRD are extremely friendly, courteous and very respectful of our property. Prices are reasonable and the quality of work is great. We asked about the seasonal plan and they recommended we do seasonal service our older unit and wait until the fall to sign up for the seasonal service. Their words were why would you sign up for seasonal service on two units when one is brand new.
Highly recommend HRD Air. ***** five star, small and locally owned.

Lenny and his Dad are phenomenal! We’ve been using them for at least a decade for all things HVAC. They can fix anything and kept our very old system running as efficiently as possible before it was no longer worthwhile to do so. Lenny replaced that unit for a very reasonable cost. He’s very smart, reliable, honest, and just a really decent guy. Look no further and just call him.

It was recommended that I contact Lenny on a Facebook page and I’m so glad I did! Lenny talked me through my options and helped us make a good choice in replacing our system, even walked us through the option for repair (which we appreciated) but given our circumstances of a leaky Lennox, we decided to invest in a full unit.

Lenny works with a very small team, is very thorough, educated, and efficient. Good people, honest work, and a better feel and price point than the big box companies in the area. I prefer to get a quote from the guy doing the work, over a sales team and that’s exactly what HRD air provides.

Now we joke about how our house has never been this cool inside a single day we’ve lived here. If you suspect that might be the case for you too, give Lenny a call!

Lenny and his crew are always so good. I had to replace my whole HVAC system, and they did an outstanding job. Everything was left neat and clean, not even a mark in the carpet (and it was a rainy day!), and it was overall a very smooth experience. Highly recommend!

Curtis was great! Quick and efficient service. Very professional. Decent prices. He was able to resolve my issue and get my AC back up and running same day that I called. Very much appreciated.

Great communication and customer service. Happy to explain how things worked and our options. We bought our new HVAC system from them and they installed it for us. 2 weeks later our condensate pump went out (not a part from the new install, it was the original one) and they came and installed a new one free of charge. Its failure was not their fault and they could have reasonably charged us for it. Instead they covered the cost themselves for our inconvenience. I really appreciate the way they do business and I highly recommend them.

I cannot recommend this company enough! Our 28 year old downstairs unit finally kicked the bucket, and we’d received several quotes on replacing both units (might as well do both since they were ancient) before contacting HRD. Lenny Jr came out the following day and put together an all inclusive price for us. He walked us through what was needed, was knowledge, honest and didn’t sell us anything we didn’t need. The quote was well below the others we’d gotten and, frankly, was the only one we trusted. They were able to get us on the schedule for two days later for full replacement. The crew showed up 5 mins early for our appointment and got right to work. Curtis was our main point of contact throughout the day. He kept us informed about what was going on and answered every question we had. He even brought us out to show us that our old heat exchanger had rusted through and would’ve posed a carbon monoxide risk this winter when we turned it on. Curtis was so friendly and kind, never making us feel bad or silly for asking what were probably very basic questions. They were able to complete everything in one day and fully cleaned up the work areas. I am now a customer for life and have already referred one of my friends. Thank you HRD for proving there are still honest, reliable companies out there!

I cannot recommend HDR Heating and Cooling enough! On January 4 of this year I had a fire in my HVAC system outside.
It was really scary and eight firetrucks showed up on my little tiny cul-de-sac. To say that it was somewhat traumatizing is an understatement. I am a disabled, senior citizen and I had no experience with house fires or replacing a major unit like an HVAC system. So I turned to a neighborhood group I’m in on Facebook asking for recommendations. I got quite a few recommendations, but I narrowed it down to HDR Air because of what some of the people were saying in that post.
The owner, Lenny, called me back within 15 or 20 minutes after calling his business. I went over what happened to the HVAC system, what the fire chiefs report said and he came by that afternoon because he was worried about the temperatures dropping and me having no heat. I really couldn’t get over that.
I went from feeling like I was at the mercy of people and companies I wasn’t familiar with to feeling like I was talking to a friend or a relative who is genuinely concerned about my well-being.
My homeowners insurance company gave me nothing but trouble. For every blockade the insurance company put up Lenny was there to either get on the phone with them or write them a letter detailing why what they thought was in their best interest was basically not legal in the state of North Carolina. This man went to bat for me at least three times.
The insurance company was not the easiest to communicate with. Most of the time I would have have to call them two or three times to either get an email or a phone call back. When and if they supplied me with requests for information, I would call HDR Air and tell Lenny. And he would usually respond to them in the form of a letter which he would send to me, and I would forward to the claims adjuster. It was a tough journey as in January and February North Carolina experienced record low temperatures and sometimes snowfall.
We kept warm with electric blankets, heating pad pads, and the small gas fireplace in the living room. But every few days Lenny would call and ask if we heard anything. He also offered to lend us a space heater!
When the insurance company finally approved the claim, they approved it for 1/3 of what it would cost. Lenny went to bat for us again. They came back with 60% of what it would cost. Again, Lenny went to bat for us and wrote a letter explaining that what they were willing to cover was not what the state of North Carolina required per state codes , and they should cover all of it.
Finally, the insurance company acquiesced and told us they would cover all of it minus our deductible. It was finally installed on March 11.
Sixty six days of no heat. In freezing temperatures. But Lenny and HDR never wavered. They never once thought it was too much trouble to help me communicate or taking too long to get approved.
I will never, EVER, forget the time he spent helping me communicate with the insurance company and the times he called “just to check in”.
This man is an absolute joy to work with and honest as the day is long.
If me or anyone in my family or any of my friends need a GREAT HVAC company I’ll never hesitate to recommend HDR.
