My whole home warranty company selected Total Comfort to provide us with HVAC service when our second floor air conditioning system went out in July. (yep, that’s right, SIX weeks ago) Overall I have been very pleased with the service and communication that Total Comfort provided.
The two technicians who installed our new system today (Jayven & Alex) called prior to arrival this morning, as requested, were extremely courteous and professional, and did a great job with the installation.
The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is that while the warranty company did send Total Comfort a “wrong coil”, which set us back an entire week on the installation while they waited for the new coil to arrive, I wasn’t notified by Total Comfort until 7:30 AM on the morning I was expecting them. It seems to me that since they had received the replacement equipment the week before, they could have verified that the correct items for our particular system were included or not, and therefore I would not have scheduled a whole day to remain at home twice instead of just once.
Since my home warranty company was probably dealing with the corporate office of Total Comfort, which has many separate contractors, it probably isn’t fair for me to give less than five stars to this group, which appears to be based in Concord. So please take that into account as today’s technicians (who were different people than the ones who came out initially to evaluate the problem) may have had nothing to do with this lack of notification that I mentioned above.
All in all, I would still recommend Total Comfort and appreciate their professionalism and good communication overall. -
Josh was excellent and very helpful. He’s services both of my properties, I would highly recommend using Comfort Heating & Air.

Binx was amazing. He was here on time and very courteous and resolved my issues in no time. He offered me solutions and reassured me that everything was going to work out. Thanks

We have a maintenance contract with Comfort First and couldn’t be more pleased these last several years. ALL their technicians are courteous, respectful and professional. Highly recommend!
We just had them out for an emergency repair during this crazy NC snow storm. Thank you Zach for your knowledge and professionalism. -
Technician was very professional on time and helped with resetting equipment and replacing filters. He also provided great advance for future equipment item. Very nice guy. Thank you much!

Great company that provided great customer service and has a great install team. The install guys were up front about the product I had installed. The county inspector also said the install of my system looked great.

Thank you Comfort First Heating & Cooling for getting my downstairs heating to work! I want to commend my Service Manager - Dustin for troubleshooting the problem, and then repairing the supply duct that had detached and was blowing hot air into the attic. He was professional, experienced and made me feel assured that the problem was going to be fixed and the heat will work properly. I have been a satisfied customer for over 5 years with Comfort First Heating and Cooling and will continue to call you for all of my maintenance, HVAC and plumbing needs for my home!

Fantastic service. The tech took the time to help me with the thermostat operation and walked me through the inspection. He showed me the inside of the unit with a fiber optic camera and recommended that I replace a capacitor based on reduced capacitance. A real professional.

Landon was very helpful and spent a lot of time over several days explaining options to me. The service techs were all very courteous and respectful of myself and the property. Once replacement was scheduled, installation was Quick and easy

Patrick was excellent at providing and explaining options, and working with us to design a plan that would work for our setup. The workers were punctual. The end product was disappointing. The cleanup was not thorough, and the exhaust piping was covered in dust and much lower than the original, needing to be raised as the basement is being converted to living space. The wiring also needs to be raised where it exits the furnace. Communication with Patrick regarding concerns was prompt, but follow thru with scheduling got lost, and needed a second call to get it going. Appt to correct scheduled for Monday with inspection the following day.

Thanks to Alvin (Sales Manager) and Dustin (Service Manager) for rectifying my 2 year situation that should've been resolved a year and half ago. Blessings and shout outs to both of these men for standing on business and making a bad situation great! I'm greatly appreciative for both of these men and they are truly a valuable asset to this company. I wish there were more of these folks out there when it comes to providing quality service. If so, my situation wouldn't have been one.
Another shout out to Dustin, he was not only personable but forthcoming with feedback and asked what was needed in addition which I greatly appreciated that more than he knows!! Thanks to Comfort First making my situation right and I have no problems referring these two men whenever I have the opportunity to do so.
Thanks again you, Alvin and Dustin, you rock!! -
Excellent service from Adam on getting my quote and resolving any issues/questions I had. Responded quickly and was very informative.
Not giving 5 stars because the install had some issues with cleanliness. My stuff was moved around and not placed back neatly, trash was left in the area, wires exposed, and trash dumped into my toilet. -
Comfort First has been taking care of our heating and cooling for years, Josh B came out today to perform our spring maintenance. He did an excellent job, very professional, probably the most thorough cleaning our AC have had.

Absolutely the worst experience. My downstairs furnace went out. The first technician came by and told me there was a small crack in my furnance and recommended I get a new one. However, this wasn’t the reason it stopped working. There was something that “flipped” which stopped it to work and he reset it. So the my unit could continue to work but he couldn’t turn my thermostat back on because of their recommendation due to the small crack. I turned it back on and got some carbon monoxide sensors to be safe. A month later the unit stops working again. It was before a big storm so I decided I would just get the new furnace instead of continuing to deal with the old one. On Jan 22 the new unit was installed. On Jan 24 it stopped working. They came out and worked on it for a few hours and got it working. I was told someone would need to come back out and change the drain pipe. Jan 29th another individual came out to do final “repairs” to get it ready for the inspection. Feb 2nd - the unit stopped working again. Right after the biggest storm Charlotte has seen in decades - 9” of snow. I woke up to 56 degrees in the house. The on call repairman called and is not able to make it out due to the storm (understandably). This is the worst experience I have ever had. Four individuals having been out to my house and i am still without a working furnace.

I'm starting with 3 stars but could go down depending on the next visit.. We were caught off guard when our AC went out and had to make a quick decision to have it replaced. We chose Comfort First because we had a service contract with them on our previous unit and the pricing was competitive. The sales guy made the process easy and payments, after a hefty deposit were affordable. Now to the issues.... Install seemed to go great.. after installers left we realized the air filter tray had been broken, air filter installed upside down, damage to walls (recently painted prior to the install). Within a month of install the tape used to close the gaps between the sheet metal began to come away from the unit allowing all the cold air to blow into the laundry room and we realized the installers broke the control board cover on the side of the unit.. it still continues to fall off. A service call was placed to have the unit resealed and the panel cover replaced, they came out and looked the unit over and stated they would be back for the repairs, so another day taken off work for the repair to be made. We will see how that goes.. If the subs are the issue, maybe in house installers should be considered. I hope the install does not reflect how the future services is going to be.

Mike Andrews and his crew completely replaced our old Heat Pump system in a single day. It wasn't cheap, but we ended up with a top-end 20 SEER Trane unit for the price others quoted for a mid-tier 16 SEER Carrier unit. Great, efficient crew did a *very* tidy installation -- the crawl space looks so much better and accessible than before. I like the unit and the installation but, more importantly, Mike has earned my trust.

Nick and team did a great job today, super friendly and very polite. I would recommend them for sure. Very professional! They added a run to my kitchen area and it turned out great.

My experience with CMA Mechanical is A+. They were quick to respond to my problems and performed in a very professional manner. Mike (the owner of the company) went above and beyond to make certain that my issues were fully addressed. The crew that performed the work (Josh and Victor) were very friendly and explained what they were doing to address our concern. I highly recommend CMA Mechanical for any heating and air conditioning issues and will not use any other company in the future.

Mike and his team are professional, knowledgeable, and kind. They will be doing my HVAC for many years to come.
