My experience was not good at all. (Poor)! I hired Jonathan Doering to remodel master bath. I will say everthing was moving smooting until the installer started the wall tile. After install, Jonathan came to my home for next payment, and I pointed out all the areas where the tile was install wrong ,and he agreed and said he will have the installer to come back to correct his wrong. The install person took out some tile that was turned the wrong way, and said he never install tile like this one, but he did not finish. Then, Jonathan sent his project manager, (Andrew) out to file the peak down my tile, who does that. I stopped him and told him he can't do that I talked with Jonathan several times, he keep stalling, excuses, excuses , and I refused to pay more money until the tile is corrected. Jonathan received my payment which included pay for shower glass. He did inot nstall the shower either, and refused to continue to work. I called the glass company about instaling my shower glass, and was told Jonathon only pay half ($995.00), and I have to pay $995.00. I told him I gave Jonathan all the moey for the shower glass, but he only put down half and spent the money somewhere esle. this is so WRONG! I had to hire another contractor to finish my bath and pay out more money, because his messy work and I contacted my attorney. Still to this date, I have not received my money back from Affordable Remodeling Solutions, Raleigh, NC. He has shown no effort to contact me. This was the worst experience in my life, and I will follow up with pictures. During this whole process some of his workers said jonathan was having financial problems and was desperate, even still this should not have turned out like this! In my opinion, this is not a reputable company!! ES/RS

Jonathon with Affordable Remodeling was incredibly professional and was the best communicator. Scheduling at each step of the remodel was as expected and we felt like we were kept informed through each phase. He works with awesome vendors for trades like plumbing, fixtures, tile, etc. Highly recommend using Affordable Remodeling. Very high quality at really competitive pricing.

We LOVED working with Affordable Remodeling!! We were responded to by email within hours, by text within half hour (most often within minutes!). They were respectful in communication. They were tidy in project space. We had two bathroom remodels done and then later a follow up project of a fan installed. They care about their work, are respectful of their clients and the clients' home. We easily, without hesitation would recommend them and would use them again!

Jonathan and his team did a fabulous job renovating my kitchen. The work included some demo, modifying an island, adding cabinets, replacing floor, installing new countertops and appliances, backsplash, lighting, and finishes. He helped me think through how to achieve what I wanted without it costing too much. He was very easy to communicate with and responsive. He walked me through what I would need to select, where to get it, and when I needed to decide. He did a great job of laying out specific expectations so I was not surprised about what was or was not included. We had some delays getting started, which I fully expected, and he was very communicative about what the delay was, why, and what I could expect next. Once the work began it went quickly and his team was very professional, wore masks, were very gentle to my home and cleaned up every day. The end product looks phenomenal. It’s better than I was expecting and cost less. I will definitely hire Jonathan for my next project!

Jonathan and his team have remodeled all three of my residential home bathrooms, all on time and within agreed-upon budgets. Jonathan provides detailed, line item quotes and provides clear information as to the project timeline. The tile and carpentry work is exceptional.

We hired ARS and Jonathan and team did and excellent job from start to finish. We had some work done in our kitchen with new backsplash and quartz counters. His attention to detail was witnessed throughout the process as well as updating us on progress. We couldn’t be happier. My wife and I worked with ARS for a complete remodel of our master bathroom and laundry room in our downtown Raleigh condo. They were great to work with. Jonathan does a great job keeping everything moving and ensuring high-quality work and all of his sub contractors were nice guys who did good work. Very pleased with all aspects of job...tiling, pluming, electrical etc. If you are looking for a contractor for a project in the Raleigh area, these are your guys!

Wonderful Master Bath remodel. Great communication, punctual, conscientious sub contractors. Any issue was promptly addressed and resolved. Completed in 10 weeks but, worth the wait! Would definitely hire again!

Jonathan managed a very nice job on a small remodel of a bath. I did the demo work myself, and ask Jon to finish up. It wasn't a huge job--we replaced a double vanity, new tile floor, new electrical outlet, and replaced toilets in two bathrooms. Really high quality work and professional and timely execution. Extremely fair price, too. I recommend highly. I wish he moved from Raleigh to Hawaii so I could hire him to work on our house here ;-)

What a stroke of luck when I came upon Affordable Remodeling. Jonathan and his Project Manager, Suzanne were a level of professional that is hard to find. The regular and ongoing communication of project status was fantastic.

Recommendation for Affordable Remodeling

Jonathan and his crew, especially Susanne, did an excellent job helping us remodel our primary bathroom. They have a detailed planning guide that customers can refer to and plan out their project. When Jonathan estimated two months until completion, we were pleasantly surprised. We had most of the work done while we were out of the country visiting our daughter.

The crew carried out the bathroom demo fast and efficiently. They made sure our floors and furniture were protected with strong covers to keep out dirt and dust. Jonathan provided all of the names and contact information for the vendors found in the planning guide. However, it was up to us to go to the vendors and choose our tile, vanity, countertop material, lighting, mirror and bathroom fixtures. The vendors were helpful in guiding us with decisions. We had a glitch with the flooring, which for us was a minor delay. We were also surprised at the cost of the new glass shower door. We were not expecting an extra $1000 charge for thicker glass. That price changed after we started the remodel.

One other thing to note. When a couple of vendors did not have what I wanted, Jonathan encouraged me to find one who did. I ended up choosing a different vanity and flooring company than listed in the planning guide. Jonathan went to their showrooms to make sure the quality of the products met his standards. These vendors still worked out well. We are extremely happy with the results.

We had found ourselves needing to tear out and remodel a bathroom that had a leaky shower. Due to some conflicts on our end, Jonathan was the last remodeler to come look at our bathroom. He was the most thorough. He knew where we were coming from and had information ready to present to me about what he was going to do to make sure sure our remodel was going to be watertight.

The communication from both Jonathan and Susanne was amazing - they're so great at keeping you in the loop, when you can expect to have contractors in your home, and what they're up to.

With many other projects, I've often found myself needing to stay on top of the contractor to figure out what their plans were - that did not need to happen here. They are professionals at what they do and it shows in every aspect of dealing with them.

The bathroom came out fantastic, and they were able to accommodate a subfloor that was in worse condition than expected, a change in tile pattern, and a different shower glass configuration than initially discussed.

From start to finish, the pricing was accurate, as I changed a few options, the price changed as well and it was no trouble for him to work with that.

Ultimately, the entirety of the job was finished 2 weeks ahead of our contracted completion date.

I am so, so happy that we found Affordable Remodeling Solutions. We're going to have more remodeling in our future and it's fantastic to know that we won't need to have 5 or 6 more companies out to take a look at the work - we've already found who is going to do the work.

We had our very outdated 1973 kitchen remodeled by Jonathan and his crew July of 2019. They were great about keeping the rest of the house clean, setting up barriers and putting down plastic. The kitchen came out beautiful. Jonathan listens to what you want and he is up front and honest. I just can't say enough! I love my kitchen
