UPDATE: After three months, five phone calls, and three formal complaints, I received my deposit back on 9/20/25.

They did very good work, but I would refuse to pay them a deposit fee again. Do business elsewhere if they insist on a deposit.

On 5/14/2025, I gave Servpro of North Raleigh (aka North Raleigh Restoration) a deposit of $1500.00 to come out and assess water damage in my living room. On July 4, I paid off the final balance due for the work completed by Servpro. I called to get the refund of my $1500.00 and was told it should arrive in a couple weeks. A couple weeks later, I called, and was told that it should be coming soon. Two weeks ago, I was told the person who processes the payments was on maternity leave and that they would find someone to help. Today, I was unable to reach anyone to give me an update on this. Although the work completed was satisfactory, I have been effectively overcharged $1500 for the services performed with the failure to refund my deposit.

My home suffered extensive fire damage that required more than 80% reconstruction. At the time, I wasn’t sure which restoration company to approach. I was referred to two or three companies, including Servpro, and I spoke with each of them about their process and overall approach.

Mike Miller from Servpro visited the property, took detailed photos, communicated directly with the insurance adjuster, and provided a comprehensive quote. Mike Miller and Pat Fitzsimmons then walked me through the entire restoration process. They also shared references from prior clients who were generous with their time and insights, as well as before-and-after photos of past projects, which gave me a great deal of confidence in Servpro’s capabilities.

Once I decided to move forward, Mike M. finalized the quote and worked directly with the insurance company throughout the project, without requiring my involvement. This was extremely helpful and removed a lot of stress. Mike Reardon was assigned as the project manager, and he was outstanding. He was transparent throughout the construction process, consistently kept me updated on progress, patiently answered my questions, and addressed any concerns promptly.

Because I don’t live in North Carolina, having Mike Reardon manage the project was a huge relief. He took complete ownership and went above and beyond on multiple occasions. For example, he contacted neighbors on my behalf to obtain HOA approvals. When there was a paperwork issue with the county that technically required my presence, he handled it for me to keep things moving. He was also very accommodating and patient with any modification requests I had during the project.

During construction, there were several unexpected findings that required additional repairs, but Mike made quick decisions and brought in the necessary crews immediately, which kept the project on track. The final result exceeded my expectations—the home turned out to be in better condition and higher quality than the original construction.

I would also like to thank Eliza from the administrative team, who coordinated paperwork/contracts, payments with the insurance company and my bank and ensured everything stayed on track. Overall, the project was completed within six months, which was much faster and smoother than I anticipated.

I am extremely happy with this entire Servpro team and highly recommend them for any restoration needs.

Jake was great! Very professional and helpful. Answered all my questions and made me feel like I was heard. He was very accommodating and came thru. My car smells like new again. I would recommend them and use them again.

I was very happy with the flooring job that I had done in my house. The construction men were very professional and friendly. The ending job is perfect and truly beautiful!!! Michael was also very informative and helped me to make the correct decisions. The overall process exceeded my expectations.

The Servpro mitigation team was very efficient and professional. They came to our home within hours of our flooding and took care of everything. They were responsive and communicated throughout the process. The reconstruction team was equally impressive. They were easy to deal with, communicated well and finished the job a day early which was very nice. Their work was perfect. We definitely recommend Servpro.

Micheal Badzick was from the beginning of the Reno with ServPro was spot on , listened to me,
explained the process, to get me back to my home as it was. He is a hardworking man of his word kind of guy. And I ask questions and he would answer truthfully. He had a great crew, Roger, Alex and Rafael. Drywall, (a lot) painting, walls molding, ceiling, as well as demolishing, hardwoods, and subfloor not in great condition.
Micheal, took control and very calmly said that, they would repair the subfloor. And not to worry!
And I did not worry. I knew he had it under control!

They worked so hard and they left the house cleaned up everyday. I would recommend them in a minute. Everyone of them were so respectful and kind. I had gone through a renovation of my master bath finished in September 2025 and it was a nightmare! Dealing with insurance companies, claim managers, estimators, alone takes a toll on you! And not every Reno manager is a Micheal……and Roger, Rafael and Alex were not your run of the mill construction guys! They take pride in their work! I am 80 yrs old and I KNOW
what quality work and craftsmanship is!

These guys care! Thank you for the beautiful job, all of you!! for hanging the chandelier, for sweeping the floors, Rafael getting on his knees cleaning hardwoods, Alex painting painting , drywalling Measuring, scraping…,
Caulking…. Listening to classical music! 😜

My experience with ServPro started off okay but went downhill quickly and ultimately left my flooring issues unresolved.

After water damage in my home, I initially met with one contractor. Then there was a several-week to nearly one-month gap before I met with another contractor. Once I finally selected my flooring, I was later told those floors were unavailable, so I had to choose a different option altogether.

When it came time for installation, the crew asked to come earlier than scheduled. I agreed, even though it meant them starting the day before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, the professionalism was lacking. The team of about five workers were goofing off, playing soccer in my yard, left my water hose out, and overall did not carry themselves in a professional manner. I could hear them cackling and playing music the entire time I was upstairs. The flooring adhesive was also applied incorrectly the first time, which the contractor admitted they were having issues with.

After they returned the next day and completed the job, there were multiple areas where the flooring was not laid correctly and began lifting up. I immediately reported the issues.

I scheduled two separate appointments for someone to come out and correct the flooring, and no one showed up either time. By the third attempt, I expressed my frustration after repeatedly providing my availability with no follow-through. Then the contractor wanted to send someone on Christmas Eve. Despite this, of course I continued to receive messages requesting me to submit the final payment.

I ultimately emailed them stating I would not release payment until the flooring was properly repaired. As of now, a guy came back out but the flooring issues are still not fixed in some areas.

For the amount of money spent (through insurance), the quality of work and lack of accountability, communication were disappointing. I would recommend shopping around and comparing other options before committing to ServPro for flooring work.

Tri and Joe did an excellent job on our master bathroom tile (floor, tub surround and shower). It looked new when they were finished. We will definitely be calling Carolina Grout Seal in the future for some more work.

Carolina Grout Seal did a great job on my tile showers, tub and bathroom floors. They look brand new and will be much easier to keep clean and water sealed moving forward.
