We had a great experience with Lux Tree Service! They were very professional and did a great job. We had two dead trees in our front yard and a large tree in the backyard that needed trimmed. We live on a busy road so choosing a professional company with insurance was very important to us. The rates were very reasonable compared to others as well! I highly recommend.

Lux Tree took down a very large maple tree in our back yard. They showed up on time and immediately went to work. All 5 guys knew exactly what to do and went about it. Ricky said it would take 2-1/2 hours plus cleanup time. He was spot on.

They took great pains to be sure to lay down mats to protect my yard and kept the equipment on it. They used a very new lift so the tree climber didn’t have to climb in the tree. He could safely and quickly reach each limb and cut them. I appreciate Lux Tree buying this equipment to safeguard their employees. Well done.

Lux Tree Services did an incredible job removing our giant oak tree! The owner, Ricky Penter, came out personally to assess the project and provide an estimate. Their pricing was right in line with other quotes we received, but I chose Lux because of a strong referral — and I’m so glad I did!

Our oak tree was over 80 feet tall and positioned close to both our house and a busy street, so I was understandably nervous. But Ricky and his crew handled everything with total professionalism. They had the right equipment, a skilled team, and worked efficiently from start to finish.

They didn’t just remove the tree safely — they left our yard looking better than before! The cleanup was meticulous, which really impressed me. Midway through the project, I asked if they could grind an extra stump while they were here, and they accommodated the request right away for a minimal cost.

Ricky and his crew were professional, respectful, courteous, and masters of their craft. They took down two 30ft trees and ground down the stump of the front tree all in under 4 hours with little to no yard disturbance. Brownie points for entertaining my 16 month old son for the morning and for saving me a couple slices of the trunk for me to use in a future project. It was a pleasure working with Ricky - he was prompt on responses and fair in his price.

Had a massive maple tree just fall over onto our house. After making some calls a friend referred us to Ricky Penter of Lux Tree Service who came out the same day to give an estimate, and the next morning Lux came and removed the tree in a couple of hours. Lux was professional, quick and extremely careful with our property. Aside from the massive tree not being on our house, we cannot tell they were ever here. We HIGHLY recommend Lux for any tree service!

EDITED: Lux came out again to take down three unhealthy trees. Same as before they were so efficient, careful, and cleaned every thing up. Google will not let me review again, but another 5 stars goes to them. What an amazing company. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Ricky and crew are very impressive. They recently cut back some stubborn brush/trees 10-15 feet, dropped a tree, grinded all stumps, dropped a barn! and expertly pruned back a large tree. All was done with professionalism and speed! They came in with all the needed equipment, all the needed crew, and banged it out. Quality & Price was right and we highly recommend. Will call them again for future needs.

Ricky and his group are my go-to folks for tree removal. We have used them twice now. Once for removal of limbs from multiple trees around the property and another time last week to remove a lot of honeysuckle and small trees in our back yard. If you use Lux Tree Service you should expect timely communication, an honest assessment t of your situation, quick work, and complete cleanup when the job is complete. Lux tree service removed a tree that was leaning on our house, as well as removed some branches from some other trees. Everyone was nice to deal with with and communication was easy. Will definitely use them again if we need more services.

This was a massive, complicated job — multiple large tree removals, a huge overgrown invasive bamboo jungle on a steep hillside, and tight access that made it nearly impossible to get equipment in. Several local companies either turned it down flat as “too big” or quoted and then ghosted us. Ricky drove hours from the Cincinnati area, gave us a fair and detailed quote, and showed up ready to work.

What impressed me most was how professional and careful they were. They maneuvered cranes, chippers, and heavy equipment through a narrow space without a single rut in my yard or the neighbor’s — everything was protected with mats and planned to the inch. The cleanup was impeccable; you’d never know they’d been here except that the dangerous trees nightmare are finally gone.

They even went above and beyond by grinding out several old stumps that weren’t even part of the original job, just because they wanted the yard to look perfect. Ricky is knowledgeable, honest, and clearly cares about doing the job right. His crew worked hard, stayed safe, and were respectful the entire time. True professionals from start to finish. Ricky and his team did a very nice job for us. He was able to do the estimate 3 hours after my phone call and then completed the work less than 24 hours after we accepted his quote. I am sure it isn’t always that fast, but it made for a great experience for us. His team also raked the leaves that fell prior to his arrival. The yard looks great after his team completed their work.

We were in dire need of cutting down some black locusts, so my husband call Ricky for a bid. He came out immediately in an hour and spoke to my husband about the condition of the trees. WOW talk about service!! He was friendly and confident and put my husband at easy that he could get the job done correctly. We accepted his bid, within a week he was out with his crew at 7am, cut both trees in a timely manner and cleaned up quickly. He will be back to take care of the last locust which he accessed as decaying. I highly recommend him without hesitation. He is also reasonable priced.

Ricky and his team contacted me within hours of asking for a quote. He came out gave me a fair price and timeline. I had a large tree fall in my backyard overnight and within 24 hours it was cut up and gone in less than 90 minutes. They didn’t damage my yard with machines.

A month later I had Lux Tree service come out and remove the rest of the large maple tree. His team came on time, worked safely in tight spaces and did a fantastic job. During the stump grinding his team communicated with me and did a fantastic job cleaning up. I highly recommend Lux Tree service. They do things the right way!

We had an amazing experience with Ricky and his team. He came out quickly to give me a quote on having multiple locust trees and honeysuckle removed from across the back of my property. The quote was super reasonable and he came out quickly to do the work. We ended up having more trees removed when work started because they had issues (dead and rotting). Pricing was more than fair and he was able to complete them within the original time frame. It was an excellent experience and I would 100% recommend them.

Ricky from Lux tree services was amazing from the first communication to the last. He, as the owner, personally answered the phone the first time I called. He was friendly and accommodating. Once I sent him pictures of the tree, he texted back within minutes with a price, giving a discount for having the work done the same or next day (my tree was a relatively small one). Ricky arrived when he said he would to cut the tree done and communicated when his team would return to grind the stump. Work was fast, efficient and as promised. I reached out to Ricky on short notice and he had a crew at my property the very next day. These guys showed up ready to work - and I mean ready.

The crew was large enough to frame a house; these were not two guys and a pickup truck. They came fully equipped with professional-grade equipment including a commercial tracked stump grinder and a Spider Lift that could make it to the back yard without tearing up the lawn!

The crown jewel of the job was a massive, completely Emerald Ash Borer-infested ash tree that needed to come down. If you know anything about EAB, you know that tree was structurally compromised and unpredictable. Ricky's crew dropped it cleanly and safely in gusty, unfavorable wind conditions without so much as a scratch on my property. That alone earns five stars!

Lux came in at less than half the price of several competing quotes I received, without sacrificing a single bit of quality or professionalism.

They knocked out the entire job including multiple trees and overgrown foundation plantings that were dangerously close to my home's brick and electrical, in just a few hours.

What also impressed me was their situational awareness. When one stump was too close to a wall to safely grind, they recognized it on their own and left it appropriately rather than risk structural damage. That kind of professional judgment is rare.

Ricky was easy to communicate with, responsive, and completely straightforward from first contact to final payment. My property looks transformed and I have total peace of mind going into spring. Their cleanup of the job site was like the trees magically disappeared without a trace.
