As you read over these Google reviews, please make a note of those reviews which mention transactions with elderly clients. I have met Randy Partin (the owner) personally, and he is quite friendly. It is even possible that he runs a good plumbing service for basic repairs for the younger generation. But based on my experience, he takes deliberate advantage of older people, and he may not be knowledgeable about how to repair a well according to state code. If you hear your older parents or grandparents so much as mention his name, or if you have a problem with your well, save yourself the trouble, and RUN.

Due to Google review character restrictions, I will make this as brief as possible.
-G&R Plumbing worked on a well for Ms. X in June of 2017. They put down a very high figure on the invoice, and then gave her a "senior discount," bringing the price down to $8000.
-Ms. X was 75 years old, in poor health, and in the process of selling the house. When she saw the poor work they did, she did not want to pay their price, so G&R Plumbing threatened to put a lien on her property. Since the house was for sale, she was scared enough to pay them what they wanted.
-They installed an old inefficient pump, a cheap water tank, used the wrong sized pipes, and did not install a pitless adaptor.
-They did not get either a permit or an inspection.
-We bought the house in March of 2019. The well was an eyesore in the front yard, so I had Clermont Country Public Health come out to look at it.
-They wrote up a list of health code violations that G&R Plumbing had committed, and gave them a deadline to fix the well.
-Randy Partin came to our house twice. Both times he claimed he had done nothing wrong, that the County was just making things up, and said he would send me a written estimate for completing the work as ordered by Clermont County. He told me verbally it would be "about $5000" to do everything they wanted. I never received a written estimate.
-When the deadline came and went with nothing done, Clermont County shrugged and said they could give deadlines, but not enforce them.
-I filed a bond claim through the Ohio Department of Health against G&R Plumbing.
-While the Ohio Department of Health agreed that violations had been committed, they said that an "unfortunate loophole" meant that I could not do anything about it, because I had not been the property owner when the well was repaired.
-Ms. X now cannot do anything either (I offered to help her with a claim), because the statue of limitations has expired.
-The well water gave 4 out of 6 people in this house diarrhea after we moved in, and we have been buying bottled water for months while waiting for all of this to play out.
-Another private contractor will be bringing the well up to code next week, for the price of $1800. He told me that the original job should have only cost about $3000, thus showing how badly G&R Plumbing took advantage of Ms. X.
-Individuals from Clermont County, the Ohio Department of Health, and the contractor who will be doing the work have all encouraged me to sue G&R Plumbing. What they did here was really that bad, and I feel that this review is the least I can do to shed light on their business practices.

As I said, this is the Cliff Notes version. If you want to read all the details, check out my review on Yelp. Yelp does not have character restrictions! But either way, please consider their treatment of the elderly when you are making a choice about who to call for your plumbing needs.

I would like to recommended G & R Plumbing based on my experience. I was unable to turn the water off at the spigot in my back yard. Adam, the technician that came to my house, was polite, knowledgeable, thorough, offering many options and then recommended the best solution for my situation. He made the repair and then instucted me as to, how to prevent this problem from reoccurring!!

G R rerouted the downspouts on my mom's house. The work was fine, but they charged her more than double what it was worth. She admits she should have gotten more estimates but G R had come with a good recommendation from a friend. Please get multiple bids before using G R.

We had a leak in our water main line. Randy and crew came the same day to check the issue and came the next morning and repaired it. Explained everything to us and had it fixed in a few hours. Call G and R first for all your plumbing needs.

To be fair, the rating is based on price and professionalism. Professionalism 4, price 1(2.5 stars if it would let me). I called G & R to fix a leak under my sink, the service call took about 20 - 25 minutes, and I was charged $360.00 .... that was with the "new customer discount" These guys did what they were paid to do, my mistake was not asking about their service charge schedule. This is REALLY expensive for the service provided. I paid, but don't like it. They charge what they charge; $179.00 for the service call and the rest was a "flat rate for that job". I had them go on a day my wife was home, she called me to tell me the price, and because they charge $179.00 to show up .... we were pot invested. A service call charge is designed to protect the contractor from wasting his time on a job that doesn't pay well enough to get him out there, or in case a customer cancels after the contractor arrives. In my experience, the charge for the service call is inclusive of the 1st hour of work, or covers the billed amount up to the price of the service call (something along those lines).

Adam with G&R Plumbing was very professional and was a huge help when we discovered a sink clog with broken disposal unit. He came in and got right to work, was very knowledgeable and answered the questions I had regarding best practices with our plumbing going forward. He was very quick and left zero mess for cleanup. Great experience all around.

$1800 bucks to unclog a drain, 15 feet from a clean out. Total of 4 hours on site. Great guys, really liked them. But will never use them again. Your equipment may be expensive, but I dont need to flit the bill for it. Very unreasonable price. And now he called me to call me names, and berate me. Because it was my girlfriends house, not mine, he tried to make me feel bad for her paying. Then he passed judgment on my dog. After the day before he commented on my neighbors. This is a bottom of the barrel group. I will make sure, I make this entire encounter known to everyone I have the opportunity to tell. I have since cancelled my payment, and will see him in court.

By the recommendation of a neighbor, we had four issues we wanted addressed by G&R. We had poor water pressure, two utility drains had had leaks and our water heater was not hot enough. 1&2) The water leaks in the utility sinks seemed to have disappeared since I looked at them a couple of weeks prior. 3)Per Adam, he adjusted the water pressure "down" to 80 psi as it was actually too high. Strangely enough, the internal water pressure did visually increase. Not sure what happened there. I am not sure if his adjustment just allowed the water to flow? I'm not sure but we now had normal water pressure. 4) Adam, the apprentice (by our request and the advisement of Randy) adjusted the water heater temperature up past the 125F (even though we only get 105F at the tap). That helped as in 10 minutes it was noticeably warmer. It was now at 125F.
Randy recommended we replace the expansion tank as they typically only last 5 years and he said ours was bad. For $280, he would replace the tank. I didn't second guess it and said "okay". I understand they need to be paid for something. It took them less than 10 minutes to get the tank and replace it. As my wife was getting them a check, I was surprised to learn that the visit was $630! The trip fee of $165 is NOT waived even though they did true work! The $280 was the price just for the tank, plus the labor. We later found that this a $40 part at any plumbing or home supply. Per Randy, "They are all the same and only last 5 years."
Randy kept "selling" saying he does a lot of work in these upscale neighborhoods. He wanted to sell us a water treatment system, but he could not get due to lack of supply. All he was doing was looking for a way to make more money!
Two days later, we had no hot water. I called up and spoke with Adam as he was on call for Saturday work. He said that it would likely need a new water heater costing $1400 to $2400. We asked if the service call charge would be waived. He said No.

I called a new plumber! He came out and reset the water heater. We have hot water now. No charge!

Never again will I use G&R!

We woke to a broken bathroom pipe that had burst behind the wall. They came right away.

We were very happy with his work. Beyond repairing the plumbing... He conscientiously opened the wall with a minimal opening. And, we appreciated his attempt to keep the removed tiles intact to save us from buying replacement tiles. Only one cracked!

Other things he did impressed me, like being careful to protect my tub and fixtures while working. (I've experienced other repairman who were careless, and let sharp debris fall into the tub leaving scars on the surface.)

After the repair, he tested the plumbing for some time to be sure there were no further issues. He also took the time to explain what was going on, and what he was going to do.

The plumbers work was finished before lunch, and his price was very fair. I am pleased to recommend G & R Plumbing.

Recently acquired an older house with several gas and plumbing issues, These guys are fast and very competent. Dealing with several difficult circumstances, (massive root structure in sewage lines) was no problem for these guys. Had all the right equipment. They actually respond to your inquiries fast, which is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Fast, great work, and reasonably priced service. I would recommend them to anyone.

This was the second time that G & R Pluming performed service at our house. The removed and replaced the water main Pressure Regulator and Backflow valves. Randy was professional, neat and extremely prepared. The job was completed in less than 30 minutes. I still give them a 5 star rating and will certainly call them again when I need any kind of plumbing work performed. Thank you G&R.

Exterior water bib leak and toilet that would run periodically. Work was performed in a very neat/clean manner and care was taken to make sure areas were left clean and neat. Very knowledgeable and took time to explain services to us. Also checked water heater and expansion tank although both were relatively new. I would call again for plumbing repairs because I really appreciated professionalism and care they took with our property. Thank you for all you did.

G&R are scoundrels who vastly overcharge and destroy your landscaping by using a bazooka to kill a fly (a bulldozer to dig up the discharge line which is about the diameter of a softball). With this inappropriate machine they ended up cutting the electrical line to my septic system and then used "an illegal splice" to temporarily fix their blunder, according to the electricians who finally discovered and corrected the problem G&R caused. If G&R showed up at my house again, I'd call the police.

Randy is a great guy. He was punctual and efficient. He took care of my plumbing issue, then helped me disarm an annoying alarm. He was very generous with his time and smiled the entire time he was here.
In all honesty, I may have overpaid for what he did, but I usually do business with people with whom I establish a relationship. If I like the person, and the services are high quality, that's what I pay for. I feel like I could call him with any problem and he would either help me or point me to a reputable person or company that could. He's a reason I like this community I have recently moved to.
I will keep his number handy. You should, too.

We called G&R to check out a low water pressure situation with our well. While Randy was respectful and investigated the cause of low pressure, the prices were very high. We were charged $500 for the assessment and were quoted $7500 for the potential job. He indicated that he would have excavate just to get down to the area where the leak was occurring. We sought a second opinion because we’re very new to the area. Eckel Plumbing came out and resolved the issue entirely in two hours for $400 - no excavating. All they had to do to was replace a cracked nylon fitting.

After calling another plumber who could not solve our problem, we called G & R Plumbing. They identified the problem and corrected it without the cost of excavation which had been recommended by another plumber. They also inspected various components of our plumbing system at no extra charge. From now one, G & R will be our "go to" plumber! Thanks Randy and Adam for your quick response to our call and saving us a substantial repair cost! Jim & Linda

Randy & Adam went above and beyond for my main sewer line backup. Other plumbers didn’t show, wouldn’t respond, quoted me for sewer line replacement, Randy & Adam showed up right when they said they would, did their own due diligence and discovered my main line was not crushed and could be cleaned and treated without replacement! Their expertise saved us thousands!

They even showed up earlier than they scheduled for final repairs and got the repairs done quick and easy and they even cleaned up after themselves.

If your in a serious situation and you need someone to respond professionally call G&R and ask for Randy & Adam, I wish I called them first.

Randy and Adam did a fantastic job on our water main replacement. They came out a day earlier then scheduled and knocked out the entire job within 3 hours. Water was only down for roughly an hour. Great quality at a great price. Would recommend them to anyone looking to get it done right without getting ripped off. Open and honest 2 way communication the entire time. No surprises.

G and R plumbing is wonderful! Ranny was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. We are delighted that he was able to replace our well pump. It's a relief to have water again. 💧

We needed to have out main shutoff valve fixed, as the old one wouldn't turn off. Randy and Adam did a fantastic job of explaining what was needed to update it. They also replaced our bathroom faucet. They are fair and honest wish more companies had their work ethic.
