Pruned one tree and convinced me to have a tree removed rather than pruned with the promise to have someone call to make an appointment for stump removal and new tree planted. They called me later same day and made an appointment with me for 4 days later. I waited for them to come the afternoon of the appointment. No show. I have called 4 times only get voice mail. No call back. Thought this was a good company, learning otherwise.

Davey’s employees were very professional, responsive, and prompt with their work. They took great care of the rest of my yard while working and left their work area in cleaner shape than they found it. I’m a repeat customer and will definitely continue to use again!

We have relied on the expertise of Davey arborists for more than 20 years. They have planted, pruned, and cabled our trees, and fertilized the trees and shrubs. The staff, whether the arborist or the technician, has always been professional and very helpful. A great company.

Davey Tree was great! The arborist informed me that our japanese maple didn't actually need pruned yet and offered to trim a few branches for free while he was there. Very knowledgeable and professional, will be using this company once the tree is ready to be pruned.

Davey Tree is a professional company who I can count on for removing large trees and close to my house or neighbors and not worry. I've used them for over 20 years. The Manager in my area is easy to speak with and always accessible to answer questions when I call. Workers are friendly and professional.

I have used Davey for the removal of two trees, stump removal, and trimming and pruning. Their staff is professional and courteous. They let you know what they are going to do before they do it and do a fantastic clean-up after. I highly recommend Davey for all your tree service needs.

Removed trees in our landscaping in Spring, contract for them to plant, mulch the following week. No show. Didn't return emails or calls for months. Turns out they lost the details of what to plant so instead of returning calls they ignored us. When we finally got a leader in the Summer they re did our order and booked us for September. Went entire summer with no landscaping since they removed it all in the Spring. Didn't come out until October and planted broken trees and different shrubs than discussed. Aside from not being what we ordered, it looks terrible. Called to discuss, never showed up to review work as requested never returned phones calls. Now they just sent us a bill in full for the tree/shrubs we didn't get and for the broken trees.

UPDATE: 5/1/2017 I am ok with 4 starts now. The Davey Team contacted me following this review and made good with their services. The team was very apologetic and fit me right in. They also offered fertilizing for my two Spruce trees at no charge to compensate for my time. The crew came and cut the invasive tree to spec, removed my 3 bushes, cleaned up and were very polite. The following week the moth man returned to spray my trees and as I write this the fertilizer fella is here doing as promised. Thank you for great service. I keep the last star ;}

I cannot review Davies Tree Service work, I can only review their customer service or lack there of. They did not show up for me. I called to make an appointment for an appraisal in the very beginning of March this year. I had to wait 2 weeks for the appraiser but when he came I explained to him the urgency of the matter. I have a large linden tree growing directly into one of my twin Blue Spruce trees in my front yard, which is slowly killing it and I needed the branches remove before the tree leaves out. I was told they were two weeks out on appointments and that it would be taken care of in plenty of time. Here it is April 17th and the tree has leaves! No one from Davey has been here yet, no one's called me to make an appointment! I've called the company 7 times, SEVEN, and have received two apologizes with promises of appointment and return calls with actual appointment date. James Herrick is the man whom was to set that up but I'm still calling. I called one last time this morning and had to leave a voicemail since no one was there to answer the phone. I asked for a supervisor to return my call but we shall see. Immediately hung up, called another tree service and got an appointment for tonight. Same day. I cannot recommend this company to anyone and as a small business owner here in Columbus, I am beyond disappointed in the lack of customer service and care.

Professional, knowledgeable, and courteous staff. Great to work with, came highly recommended for residential and commercial. They have a wide variety of tree and lawn services, and have Certified Arborist to help educate you in your tree maintenance needs. The Davey Tree Expert Company has been around for many years and you definitely want to talk to them first.

We have used Davey for years and once again, this Team oriented company has proven as to why we keep going back. Chris was our fieldworker arborist and was very well versed and explained everything in an easy to understand manner. The feel team was fantastic and we would highly recommend Davey for any tree removal/trimming/landscape design and fulfillment needs. Great bang for buck!

You might want to teach your people how to drive. The driver of the truck pictured cut me off and proceeded to drive significantly under the speed limit. If y'all struggle with basic driving I don't really know if I could trust you with any aspects of landscaping.

We had several large limbs that needed immediate removal. Max and the Davey Tree team were incredibly responsive and were able to get the job done within 24hrs of notification. They did a great job and the clean up was impeccable! Well done!

Donald Wells at Davey Tree is fantastic. He is incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful and responsive. We shopped around for quite some time looking at pricing etc. before finally pulling the trigger and Davey Tree was the best price and did great work. Took out 5 trees and the stumps and will definitely be going back to Davey for any future tree work we need. HIGHLY recommend!

I have used Davey Tree since 1999. I live on a wooded lot and have had many trees removed and pruned do to disease, dying, thinning, etc. I can't say enough about the expert tree service this company provides. Don Wells has been my tree advisor for many years and has always given great advice and recommendations for all my trees. This morning I had Ted and Dan come out to remove branches from a 100' tree in my back yard and do some pruning on some ornamental trees. You cant even tell they were here two hours after they arrived. Believe me, you don't want just any tree companies removing big trees around your house. I have seen the destruction caused with some of my neighbors that have used some of these other tree companies. I appreciate the great service and attention to detail you always provide!

A huge tree fell in our backyard, taking out the steps to our deck. A Davey Tree estimator came out the same day we called and was able to send a crew the next day, Saturday. Three men came out with lots of equipment. The men were friendly, professional and had amazing attention to detail. They put plates down on our yard to prevent damage to our lawn. They cut up the tree, carefully removed it up our very steep side yard, cleaned up all the debris, raked the yard, blew the lawn back up (it got a little crushed,) and swept our driveway. We HIGHLY recommend Davey Tree.

I used Davey tree for 2 years. This year on 2 occasions we caught their technician claiming the inspection service was complete without ever living his car. This is supported by on property cameras. This is a service that is over $100 per visit. On multiple other occasions the inspection could not be done because the dog was out, which means we were home and a simple call that the inspector was here would have allowed us to put her away. On Appt days you don't get an approximate visit time to plan when to keep pets inside. Thus far no refund has been issued and despite being informed that management would contact me, after 1 month this still has not happened. In addition to this, the 2 trees at the front of my house are now diseased which was not identified by their tech. Turns out this disease can be transmitted by dirty cutting equipment. For 15 years these trees were perfect until Davey tree pruned them. I also sent them pictures of these trees towards the fall last season because the leaves were turning black and they said it was "normal" for fall.

I find Davey to be completely overpriced and unprofessional. I was a customer for almost 20 years and they jacked up the prices almost 30 percent with no notification. They claim the contract was “ lost in the mail”. This company has no loyalty to you and I found the sales rep I had never came to my property or checked on anything. He even hung up on me once. I am no longer a customer and they continue to send mailings, etc. Apparently these unwanted mailings didn’t get lost in the mail. My yard already looks better with the new company.

After I cancelled my contract with them, they scheduled a late fall treatment without contacting me first. I had to call multiple people to tell them I did not want the treatment and that I had already hired another company. I find the confusion and chaos with this company completely unprofessional and incompetent.

Columbus Davey tree was so great through the process. We needed a large tree cut down that was partially over the house. They came quickly for my free quote and then got me scheduled for a tree removal within a week. They were lower priced than the other companies that I got quotes from too!

When they came out, they got the tree cut down really quickly and safely and cleaned up everything really well.

Davey Tree provided courteous and professional service. Max Norton was great to work with. We had a new tree planted plus trimming and maintenance on our other two trees and we are very pleased with the results. They also removed a diseased tree for us last fall. The crews all did a good job and very courteous in answering our questions.

I have used another tree removal service, and frankly, they scared me when I watched them in action. I have seen the Davey vehicles over the years and when I received a mailer that advertised a free consultation I made the appointment. I met with William and he provided me with a great overview of my property's needs and showed issues and gave me remedies that I could pursue on my own in some areas. I needed a huge pine removed and two other trees pruned. I told him my primary concern with Davey would likely be the cost. I was pleasantly surprised their quote was very reasonable. The work was completed in two phases with the removal and pruning being first. The team that did the work (Carlos and Dan) were very impressive in these ways: 1. the care exercised in positioning the heavy equipment 2. the quality of the equipment 3. the obvious training in the skills they demonstrated and the attention to safety for them as well as for the property 4. the clean up left the area in better condition than when they started 5. they were friendly and very repectful. Phase two was the removal of the pine stump and root system. Again, the same impressive display of all the above qualities (Luke). Davey has a loyal new customer!
