Matt Anderson serviced my HVAC system today and did an excellent job from start to finish. Before he even arrived, I received both an email and a text message notifying me that he was on the way. I was also able to track his location in real time. The message included a photo of him, and he followed up with a personal phone call to confirm his estimated arrival time. That level of communication gave me a lot of confidence before he even stepped through the door.

Once he arrived, Matt was efficient and professional. He started by checking the furnace in the basement and took the time to answer a few unrelated questions I had about installing a smart thermostat. Even though that wasn’t the reason for the visit, he gave helpful feedback and never made me feel rushed. He explained what he needed to do outside, completed the work, and then walked me through what had been done and what still needed attention.

I also asked him about a recent spike in my energy usage, and he identified two likely causes: dirty coils and low refrigerant. He explained how both of those issues could be driving up my kilowatt usage and how today’s service should help improve efficiency. I use an AI-based transcription tool to keep a record of these types of conversations, and Matt was understanding and patient throughout the process, which I really appreciated.

All in all, I’m very satisfied with the work Matt did and the way he handled the visit. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and made sure I had a clear understanding of my system’s condition by the time he left. That kind of service really stands out.

DJ Hoover was fantastic—he diagnosed the issue with my AC right away and found that the thermostat was broken and needed to be replaced. He quickly swapped it out for a better model and got everything running smoothly again. I really appreciated how knowledgeable and efficient he was.

He also went above and beyond by recommending a whole-home surge protector to safeguard not just the thermostat and furnace, but all the electronics in the house. I thanked him for the suggestion and told him I’d love to consider that in the future. Just waiting on the quote now!

Noah Beeli was excellent to work with. He quickly identified that the capacitor in our furnace had failed and also noted that the blower motor bearings were struggling. It was a three-legged race between our 2018 A/C unit and our 2010 furnace. He pointed out that while replacing both components would get things running again, the furnace itself was already 15 years old. After discussing it with my wife, we decided it was time to replace the whole furnace. Noah gave us a fair quote, was very knowledgeable, professional, and easy to talk to. He assured us we’d have working A/C by the afternoon. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone.

It was a very easy going experience. Matt knew exactly what he was doing. He even knew what was wrong before he even took the furnace panels off. He was able to tell me a very accurate estimate before he even started working. He had it fixed in no time flat. The heat is better than it’s been since I’ve moved in the house five stars all around.

From the first call to the installation of a new furnace this company exceeded my expectations. Everyone was personable and professional. The tech who diagnosed the problem was very knowledgeable and explained everything that he found, how it should work and what it was or was not doing. He laid out the options without using high pressure tactics. The installers were very courteous, protected the floors in my house and cleaned up everything. He then took the time to show me everything that was installed and went over the basics. I would definitely recommend using this company.

My normal HVAC tech was busy and I needed a furnace at a rental checked out that wasn't heating properly. I assumed Grove City heating and air was not a part of a monopoly super company due to the name, but they fooled me. I try to use local companies if possible. After confirming my appointment online from grove city heating and air's website, I received a confirmation email from Five star home services. The tech arrived on time. He wore shoe covers which I appreciate. He was kind and diagnosed the problem within 30-45 minutes then the salesman in him came out. He pulled out his iPad and went on the "well it's going to be about half of the cost of a new furnace for the repairs, we can put a new one in tomorrow" The diagnostic visit was $99 which was helpful and exactly what I needed. I told him I was going to think about my decision and let him know. He was very pushy and I felt like I was speaking to a car salesman, not an HVAC technician. He said well when will you decide? I told him sometime today, he said what time will I hear from you? That was the end of that conversation. He asked me to pay on the spot and had to get approval from management if I didn't pay the measly $99 immediately (my business card was at home and I paid the invoice within an hour of his visit). The quote for the control board and flame ignitor was $2170. The quote for a replacement furnace was $4545 after "discounts." Luckily, I don't make hasty financial decisions. My hvac guy was free the next morning and replaced both parts for $580 in 20 minutes and let me know my furnace is actually in good condition for the age of the furnace. Steer clear of this company who just wants to take advantage of you in a time of need as most people are in a time pinch when having a these issues.
