I have a home warranty policy. And the company chose this plumber. The first time he did work on our property it was because pipes had burst and the two apartments above the garage had no water. The goal was of course for the tenants to have water. it was a complex situation but he would do a bunch of work and bill us and we paid him. Do a bunch of work bill us and we paid him. Then he said the job was done. But he never bothered to actually go upstairs to see if the water was working in the apartments. And then later argued with me that he was just hired to fix pipes not to have the water running to the apartments? Please explain this logic to me?! Lol! So after thousands and thousands of dollars we actually had to hire another plumber to complete the job. Cut to this week. Simple leak in a bathroom sink. Which turned into a broken vanity that needed replaced. The price $1400. We gave him half the payment upfront. And he did complete the job quickly. But then he wanted his payment and I received a text from one of my tenants in that apartment showing me that he had damaged the tile while doing the job. Which he was not going to disclose. He was literally going to try to sneak away. I think my Tenant may have been trying to be nice I’m on certain? But for some reason, Damien seem to think that it was OK for my tenant to repair the tile. When I presented Damien with the facts . Due to a combination of immaturity and lack of professionalism. He didn’t even apologize. I had him sign an agreement that he would repair the work. And told him it would be a couple days because it was the weekend and our office were closed and that he would be paid on Monday. But in the meantime, he started sending text after text after text, demanding his money. The desperation made no sense. Being that in the past had been paid thousands of dollars and never stiffed. And the fact that he felt entitled to be paid in full, even though the job wasn’t done due to the damage he made. Even after trying to explain to him that he was going to be paid on Monday. Though I had trouble getting my business partners to agree to this. I received a threatening text as did my tenant where Damien said he was going to come over and rip out the vanity in the work he did. if I did not pay him right away! Lol. So I had to call the Toledo police and ask them what to do with the situation. So of course, at this point, I don’t want him anywhere near the property. But I’m still trying to be a fair business person. What I offered him was we would get a quote to have the tiles fixed. I would present him with that quote. And we would reduce that from what we owe him. And be done with each other. Overall a very stressful and nightmarish experience that isn’t finished yet.

He was quick to get here. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Gave good advice for future issues.

I needed a plumber for a reoccurring issue and Schmeltz Plumbing was recommended to me. I contacted them and they were able to come out the same day and give me an estimate. They actually gave me 2 options and estimates. He came out and had the extensive job done in 1 day. I enjoyed conversing with him and am thankful for all he did. He gave a very reasonable price and now I have peace of mind that I will no longer continue to have the same issues.

Companies from Saturday to Sunday to come out to repair it but he was the ONLY one who came out within the hour of calling especially on a Sunday & the only one who actually got in our crawl space to diagnosed the issue. Unfortunately the job wasn’t a quick fix but he came out the next day to fix it. He communicated very well and was very timely. He talked to us in a manner we could understand & didn’t make us feel stupid. He is very well priced & doesn’t over charge you or try to get one over on you. I highly recommend him & will forever do business with him.

Great service, was professional and efficient. Was able to fix the gas leak in an hour and found two other leaks that he fixed as well.

It was after 11:00 on a Saturday night. I suddenly heard the sound of water pouring in our basement. We shut off the water tried to mop it up with rugs and towels. We couldn't get our regular plumber so tried several plumbing companies. We successfully reached Schmeltz Plumbing and Damien said he was on his way.
We have pipes that are older and he had to get parts. So he capped it so we could use water, got the parts and came Sunday morning to completely fix the problem.
I would highly recommend him to anyone for any project! It was so wonderful to know we could have immediate assistance late on a weekend night!

Honestly, I can't give a higher review. We place a called pretty late in the evening on Saturday and got right in touch. Now here's the best part. Damien came out on a Sunday. Yeah that's right, Sunday. He took a look, did a pressure test, and quoted me a great price. He did fantastic work and got me rolling.

It was a Saturday and we needed our sink, that was stopped up, to prepare food an evening event. Called several plumbers, and all were booked up. Called Schmeltz, and we're told that while they were booked up, they would take care of us within a few hours, and would keep us posted on the time of arrival. True to their word, Damien kept us up to date and arrived in time to un-stop our sink.

A courteous young man examined the situation and indicated what he intended to do. Price was reasonable and was not increased for weekend days. He cleaned up sink area before he left.

Would highly recommend him for any plumbing needs.

I have called so many professional plumbing services and every single one of them has tried to rip me off completely. Let me tell y'all about Schmeltz Plumbing. Damien is the REAL PROFESSIONAL!! I needed a new shower valve replacement. Damien showed up on time and ready to work! The job did not take long and there was no mess afterwards. Even got a warranty. If you need services done and want them done the right way, then call these guys ASAP. The prices are like no other company, trust me I know! You will be wasting time and money going somewhere else. He does not know it yet, but he is now my go to plumbing guy!! Best plumbing company around. Thanks again Damien!!

We needed multiple jobs done. Including moving our hose connection to the outside of the barn, as well as adding a hose connection off of the house from our basement. Damien was professional and knowledgeable with every question or concern we had. His prices were fair! The work was done quickly and to completion. Jobs well done. Called on a weekend. Got THE GUY, Damien. I explained my issue. He gave me some quick ideas what to check. 5min later I was up and running. No charge. He knew what I needed to do so I could make the right next move, which didn't involve his company. Most companies would of charged me fee just to come and look at it, especially on a weekend. Heck, most companies didn't even pickup the phone on the weekend. Major respect to Damien and Scmeltz Plumbing. You clearly operate a solid company because you hired a solid guy.
