A-Better Heat and Air replaced our heat and air system completely with Carrier Infinity System. All the employees were very polite and knowledgeable. It was a great experience, would recommend this company to anyone needing HVAC replacement or service. Family owned and operated company that provides quality customer service.

I love Scott. Ask for him ! He is friendly, knowledgeable and thorough . I will always be a returning customer as long as he is a tech here.

Tim arrived called prior to and arrived on location, as stated the evening before, on time (before noon). That informed me that he had an idea of what his previous appointments were going to entail, prior to arriving on site. Very curious and professional. Pricing was discussed the evening before. I was charged with very close estimate from the previous conversation.
I highly recommend their annual service. It is reasonable and practical. -
Did a good job getting my older air conditioner going when after paying for 2 other places to come look at it, they were trying to sell me a whole new unit. Needed a new fan motor and something else, I really appreciate their honesty and will be glad to call them back if I need them and recommend them highly.

Oh boy! If you are looking for professional heat and air folks that will treat you right look no further than A-Better Heat and Air. During a demo for a new shower the contractor discovered that my dryer vent had been run under my old bathtub and had broken a while ago. Needless to say the dryer tube couldn’t couldn’t stay where it was and it had to get fixed fast or my shower install would have to be delayed. I called just about everyone in the OKC area and everyone was booked solid except for A-Better who said they could come out between 1-3pm. At 1:15 Todd and Jaime showed up at my house and the next 3 hours were just awesome! We looked at three different ways to run the dryer vent up into the attic and out and eventually settled on the easiest for all of us. Not only did they do a professional job, they even went above and beyond to use some of their materials to seal off the holes where the old dryer vent had gone through both my walls. They were friendly, consulted with me on everything and assured me they could get it done. If you ever need a company when you are in a bind you won’t find better than A-better.

Every time Karl come out he’s a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable and professional. He takes the time to explain what he is doing and why it’s important. I have always been able to get a quick appointment when I call and the service has been great. Definitely ask for Karl by name when calling. I can’t say enough amazing things about him.

We had two different companies come out previously who could not figure out how fix our heater. He was prompt and very detailed. Received the part the next morning and fixed it. We are very appreciative of Tim and A-Better Heat & Air Conditioning. Thank you!

We had A-Better install a new Heat and Air system. Mark Lee was prompt with his estimate and answered all my questions. He discovered during inspection we did not have adequate return air. During the install of new unit they installed an addition return and did an excellent job. The install team was polite and detailed in their work. . I would use A-Better again!!

I highly UNrecomend this place. I've already had 2 issues w the brand new 5 ton system. They've taken way too long to come out and repair initially but DIDN'T even repair when they showed up late. They just told us that we need to wait almost another week for them to reschedule us due to the weather... It's not even raining here, hasn't all day! Unfortunately waiting this long is hurting our business very badly and the fact that they won't come out here first thing in the morning to resolve this issue is absolutely unacceptable especially after waiting so long already! Nor do I appreciate the attitude over the phone.
I NEVER leave bad reviews so this will be my f1rst.
Buyers beware, I've had better luck w used ac units and better service from Craigslist lol. -
This is a very professional company, the technician did a great job educating me on the issue, and how to keep up on maintenance. He also brought his own shoe covers so he wouldn't be walking around our house in his work boots. I highly recommend a-better to anyone who needs their unit serviced!

My AC went out in the middle of a 110 degree (feels like) day. Due to a cancellation, they were able to get me up and running sooner than expected. The tech was nice and professional, and the cost wasn’t crazy expensive. I would definitely recommend!

They came out the day I called. Keep in mind this was in the middle of July. They were sympathetic to my mom's age which is 85. I've used them for years as a builder and for service. The tech was polite and professional the price was excellent and my mom was cool within 5 hours of my initial call. Love them and highly recommend them. I would give them 10 stars if possible.

A Better Heating and Air Conditioning was amazing!! My furnace pilot wasn't lighting and they were able to come out within a few hours of calling. Karl was also great and thorough....he talked me through the issue, what caused the issue, how to fix and prevent future issues. I couldn't be happier with the service I received.

Karl, with A-Better Heat and Air, just came to our house. He had to climb up to the very top of our attic on a awful ladder. He was extremely nice and professional. I'm sure it was so hot but he did not complain. He took care of our problem in less than ten minutes. Also, he actually came on the day and time he was scheduled which is so uncommon in today's time. I definitely will use this company again when I need air conditioning or heating services. Very pleased.

I'm giving a 2 because of the lady on the phone that takes the calls. When I called asking about the spring tune-up I paid for she said "springs over, we sent you a reminder card". I told her I did not receive one and scheduled the service. I was called and said they would be there between 0800-0830 Friday. Friday at 0900 my wife called and the guy said someone would be out....could not give a time. Finally at 1300 they called and said someone was on their way. I asked her about not coming this morning and she said "I don't know who told you that, we never give a time". I've had nothing but good things to say about this company and their work.....but the lady on the phone needs to find a new job that doesn't make her so nasty to the customers. It's going to ruin this good business. I would be more than happy to discuss this with anyone at A-better that would like more information.

you need to work with or get rid of Cicely on the phone. She gives misinformation and then either denies it or plays stupid and tells you it was someone else. I had an issue this morning when Hayden (Great kid BTW) came to the house. I was told that I still had my fall tune-up and it was covered because I paid in the spring. After my service I was then told it was not paid for yet and it'll be $185. Then they tried to tack on another 3.5% to use a credit card. Sorry that's the cost of doing business....I'm not going to loose sleep over $6, however I will give your company a bad review and you can decide how much the $6.00 is worth. I'm not apposed to paying what you charge.....I'm very much against not being told what you charge and then have all these hidden extras added. Most importantly, you need to train Cicely or get rid of her. She's not doing your business any justice. I've noticed from the other reviews, this isn't the first time there's been an issue. You're welcome to call me if you want to discuss further. -
We had an issue with our furnace which the technician diagnosed as a dirty evaporator- he claimed that it would be impossible to effectively clean it and instead recommended the entire system be replaced giving an estimate for nearly $7000. We had another company came out and they were miraculously able to clean it for about $100 which he assured us would get us through the cold season, and he would come back in the spring, remove it and deep clean it to get us completely squared away. Be careful with their recommendations.

We built a new house and our builder had them do the install. The first issue was that we had service areas to run ducting through and they didn’t run ducting there. This resulted in really odd drywall to cover the ducting. It affected shelving and hanging space as well as light switches. They also had cut outs in the drywall for future service access and just left them open. Then said plumbers should find covers for them. The plumbers explained it was the HVAC techs responsibility to cover but worked to solve it anyway.
Then we had this most recent ice storm. The furnace over our master bedroom quit working. It took 2 days for them to come out, which is understandable. The tech cut up the decking to find that they didn’t properly insulate the condensation drain line. They borrowed a space heater from us to try to melt the ice and left. I came home and managed to pour warm water down to melt the ice so we can use our furnace since it is still below freezing.
Today my wife gets a call from the scheduler who says they can come out right now. Unfortunately nobody is home currently so she proceeds to tell my wife that they’ll be out Monday (5 days from now). My wife asks if it can even wait that long and then she says they can make it out later today and hangs up on my wife.
So we had poor communication on design and installation. Poor installation quality. Insufficient repair attempts and rude customer service. -
I had this company do an HVAC inspection in a home I was purchasing. They did the initial inspection for $150 and recommended we do a deep cleaning of the downstairs system, which included cutting the system out, cleaning, and checking all of the parts and pieces. The sellers (a general contractor who had remodeled the home) and I were very impressed with the service up to this point. The seller even commented that he would be using them for future remodels.
My lender then called and specified that we would need to have an HVAC technician specify that the two units were sufficient for the home. We thought this would be no problem considering that they just worked on the unit extensively and had been paid $1,350 up to this point. The receptionist that answered the phone was extremely confrontational and said that we would need to pay them an additional $500 for them to report that the units (which totaled 5.5 tons for a 2,400 sq/ft home with 8 foot ceilings throughout) were of sufficient size for the home. When my wife asked if the receptionist would speak with me, then hung up on me as soon as I said hello. I’m not sure if the contractor had already called or what the situation was, but to be that abrasive right out of the gate with us and give that high of a quote definitely rubbed the seller and I the wrong way.
We called Spencer Heat and Air, who showed up within 45 minutes of calling them. The technicians were extremely professional, and were dumbfounded by the $500 quote from this company. They charged $90 and sent me the report on the spot. Cannot recommend them enough!! -
I waited a few months before writing this review. I called A-Better to get a quote for a new system. Mark promptly came out and gave a price on a unit that was more efficient and lower in price than other quotes from Carrier dealers. Also, they had it in stock so there was no waiting period for install. During his visit, I had a surging power dip and he suggested a protector since this is what killed my 18yo condenser. Hayden and Kelly came out to do the install. Professional, friendly and very knowledgeable installers. Granted, the install took most of the day, but it was due to the power supply not up to code and this being a down-flow unit installed in a tight closet. Before it was over, 2 more installers showed up after their assignments to help finish the job. Even Mark came by to see the progress of installation later in the day. Also, they did not charge extra for additional wiring and a disconnect to bring the power supply up to code. I paid exactly what they quoted. Bottom line, I won't use anybody else for my maintenance or new equipment needs as A-Better has shown me what a highly competent company they are!

I am not thrilled with my most recent experience with A-Better Heat & Air. I got a new HVAC system from them less than 3 years ago. The system came with a 10 year warranty. The warranty is only for the parts, not for any labor cost related to the repair.
Last week, my heater stopped working, and I gave them a call on a Tuesday. The first time they were able to come out was on a Friday. They showed up promptly on time on Friday which I very much appreciated. However, I ended up paying $337.00 for them to fix my heating unit. In under an hour, the service technician diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I asked what part of that was covered under warranty, and he said that the part was, but the $337 was for the service call and labor cost. I reiterate that his truck was seriously in my driveway for no more than 1 hour. Not only that, but he mentioned that it was a shame that the broken part started being made cheaply and of poor quality in China and that the replacement was the same, but it was the only option I had. My takeaway from the experience is that they charge a lot of money for their labor and they use cheap materials which will require you to pay for their labor in the future. Do with that information what you will. -
The control on the unit installed by A-Better is impossible to read as the letters are so small, even with reader glasses. The control didn’t stay on selected temperature. Got hot by evening and chilly by morning. I wanted a control with larger numbers and words and one that would stay on the selected temperature. It was going to cost $280 for control and service call. I wasn’t able to afford that. Not really happy with options.
