Constraction reviews in Lake Oswego, Oregon

Contracted through Costco for dishwasher installation. Was worried after reading reviews on here, and also about the sizing because we had a bear of a time getting our old dishwasher out and ready for pickup. However our experience turned out to be excellent.
They called to say they would be there about an hour earlier than expected, which was nice. We live on a very steep street, with a steep driveway and about a dozen front steps. Installer didn't let it phase him, just hoisted it all the way inside by himself and got to work. Was quick and pleasant and we were using our new dishwasher an hour later. Highly recommend. -
A-1 was assigned to install an appliance I purchased from Costco. Costco set up the delivery and installation day for Tuesday, January 30th. Because of that, my husband and I moved our schedules around to accommodate someone coming to install our microwave. We moved everything in our kitchen out of the way in preparation. Come 1pm on the delivery/install date, I still hadn't heard a peep from A-1. I called Costco, who called them on my behalf. An hour later I received an email from A-1 stating that they couldn't come install my microwave before MARCH 2ND. When the appointment date was January 30th. This business has zero customer service or communication skills. Thankfully I was able to make another arrangement for my microwave. 0/10 stars- would never, ever recommend.

Ordered a dishwasher through Costco and A1 Installations NW LLC is the provider for installation. First appointment they no-showed and did not contact me. Left multiple voice mails over the following week and finally had to call Costco to have them contact A1 and reschedule. A1 then emailed me the day before the new date and said they would have to reschedule for even further out. I requested to just pickup the appliance from their warehouse and A1 said they could only contact Costco and have them deliver without the installation service which I agreed to. So, what did they do? Cancel the order. Luckily Costco is actually proactive and has reached out to see how I want to proceed as they actually understand customer service.

I had a wonderful experience with both the scheduling and instillation experts at A1. The scheduling expert arranged everything for me and even called Costco on my behalf to ensure the delivery and install times lined up.
Yesterday Allen and Duncan came out and installed the dishwasher I purchased from Costco. They arrived in the time specified, got right to work, completed the job very quickly - less than an hour!- and hauled away my old dishwasher for me. I even got some tips on how to get more out of my dishwasher. Turns out that I should have been using the rinse aid this whole time and never knew...
This was such a wonderful experience! I used my new dishwasher right after they left and am thrilled to have put away my drying rack.
If I need help again, I'll be calling A1! -
We purchased a dishwasher through Costco, and A1 was contracted to install our new dishwasher and haul away our old one. On the first date reserved through Costco, nothing happened. I received a phone call from A1 letting me know that Costco was over scheduling installs. The scheduler from A1 was very nice and professional, and we got a date set up through A1 directly. The install and removal were both seamless, and our installer was fantastic. I was very impressed with the level of service received from A1 - it sounds like the disconnect between scheduling service and delivery of that service may have been on Costco's end. Regardless, A1 did a fantastic job, and I would recommend them to anybody based on the quality performance of their service.

My understanding is that there was a logistical issue with Costco double booking appointments. I left a message with them and they got back to me with a new install date, that was sooner than had I rescheduled through Costco. When they arrived to install it they were professional, polite, very prepared and went above and beyond, working through some challenges with my water valves. Let's give a little grace, they are working long hours and overtime to catch up from an issue caused by Costco Logistics.

I am very satisfied with the service I received from A-1. The schedulers were polite and easy to deal with. The install went very smooth. Nathan did an excellent job. He was fast, efficient, friendly and customer oriented. I would highly recommend A-1 Installations.

I just finished scheduling with them. They are rude and inflexible. When offering a time, they will state that times are auto-generated by their software 2 days in advance and so simple things like specifying morning or afternoon cannot be accommodated. Also the person texting me kept typing - "You have until 2pm". I don't recall having an interaction like this I would term as 'service'. Costco needs to find a new installer. I would never hire them.

Seamless. Ordered my dishwasher through Costco and was worried about removal and installation because of all the negative reviews about this piece of the purchase. But my experience was great. Took quite awhile from date of purchase to have it done but that was expected since I was given about a month out approximate date when I bought the dishwasher from Costco. I got a call from A-1 a little over a month after purchasing the dishwasher to set up removal of my old dishwasher and installation of my new dishwasher. The lady who set the appointment window was nice and gave me clear instructions. My servicer, Pete, was on time, professional and personable. Everything went off without a hitch. Very happy with the service!

A-1 service came to install a faucet for me and gave me great service. I use to be a appliance repair person years ago and I now handle logistics , so I understand the pitfalls of following up with emails and communication. I took time off work to be available for this install and so I needed for A-1 to communicate with me that everything was confirmed. They did a nice job with the communication! I ordered my faucet from Lowes and A-1 contacted me 3 days later(I ordered on a Saturday online) and gave me a appointment for 4 weeks later. I confirmed and waited. 2 days before my appointment they emailed and left me a voicemail that Alan would be arriving between 11 and 2 in the afternoon and I confirmed with both the email and a callback. When the window arrived Alan called me around Noon or so and arrived 15 minutes later. He installed the faucet in quick fashion then gave me some quick instructions on the install(They have a 1 year warranty on their work) and left. A-1 had a nice service van and Alan had tools and was professional . This is a legit installer and I give them my Thanks!

Costco dishwasher installed with no problems or upsells. Julian did a great job.

I wouldn't have hired someone to install the faucet if I had known how to do it myself, but I ended up paying Home Depot, which subcontracted the job to A1 Installation. From the very start, Nathan, the installer, did not demonstrate good listening skills; he seemed irritated as soon as he called to discuss my garage door. His tone was aggressive, and he dominated the conversation rather than engaging in a dialogue. After two hours of working on the kitchen faucet installation at my condo, I reached out via text to check on the progress, but he didn’t respond. When I followed up two hours later, he finally replied, but our conversation quickly turned sour. As I tried to ask a few questions to gauge how the installation went and what I should monitor in the coming days, he became increasingly agitated, yelling at me to stop talking and just listen. I complied, but the interaction left me feeling frustrated and confused. While I understand that everyone has off days, his approach to customer inquiries was far from acceptable. Based on this experience, I have no intention of working with A1 Installation again.

Would NEVER recommend!! Was forced to use by Costco for a dishwasher install. Their appointment dates are way off from what was provided (5-10 days longer), and send inexperienced installers (Cole) that cross threaded the drain connection needing a replacement unit.
I then had to wait over a week for an expedited replacement from Costco, now without a dishwasher for 17 days and 12 days past when A-1 was supposed to install originally.
On the 2nd install they sent me with their most experienced installer I was told (Justin) and was completed. However, they finished and I realized after using and checking over it had damage that the door wouldn't fully open and buckled on the inside. You would think an experienced installer would notice this so did they cause that issue?
Since I now at least had a working dishwasher I wasn't as urgently looking for replacement. Costco did their part and got me a new unit after waiting for A-1 (Justin) to return and review the damage to report replacement needed to Costco.
That took 10 days and now I wait for A-1 again to give me a new install date that was again 10 days past what Costco stated. They called a business day ahead of install to confirm and have assigned me with the same inexperienced installer from the first time.
I refused and asked for an experienced installer that they now quote me 2 or more weeks out. UNACCEPTABLE!!! If anything they should be expediting and making this right for all the hassle and personal time I have invested with Costco to get replacements. They have ZERO Customer First attitude vs take it or leave it.
In closing I worked with Costco to get a different installer that came within a day of receiving the job and did an excellent job the FIRST TIME!! They even validated how damaged that 2nd unit was in the back of it they would have never installed. I have given a lot of feedback to Costco leadership to drop the contract of using A-1 as their supplier. -
***DANGER HAZARDOUS INSTALLATION *****If I could give them no stars I would. By far Spencer was the most incompetent installer I've ever come across. BEWARE of A1 Installations.👎 This company came out to install my induction cooktop and didn't even realize the manual called for a bracket kit to attach the cooktop to my granit. WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS🤯 Management didn't even have the intestinal fortitude to even talk to the customer. What makes it worse was Spencer had a worker he was trying to train, so the vicious cycle continues. When they left my cooktop moved all around- SAFETY HAZARD

I bought a dishwasher from Costco that came with installation and haul-off. The installer that was sent to my home was amazing. He was very efficient and meticulous with every part of the installation. I am a very skeptical person by nature and tend to nit-pick things to death and I have nothing negative to say about my experience. Thank you A-1 for a job well done!!

Pretty terrible service. They rescheduled my appointment without my knowledge and only informed me about it AFTER I reached out asking what time they’d be coming by on the 16th. Turns out they rescheduled me for the 26th. I had already gotten the 16th off work so I could make sure to be home. Lack of communication is a way to lose customers.

I purchased a toilet from Home Depot and install services via A-1 Installations NW LLC were offered by Home Depot. Normally I would have done this toilet replacement myself but decided to try out A-1. We had an appointment set up within a day or so of the purchase. Unfortunately the shipper damaged the original toilet so we had to reschedule. Their office was really great communicating and making sure we had an appointment that worked well for our household.
Spencer was our technician. He as requested checked in with me via phone 30 minutes prior to arrival. When he arrived he was professional, friendly, informational, knowledgeable about what he was doing. He was very efficient. Got the old toilet removed, new one installed and tested in about an hours time. All I had to do was sign. He removed the old toilet, all of the cardboard from the new toilet and cleaned up after himself prior to leaving. I was left very impressed not only by Spencer but by the company he works for. I read a few reviews before leaving mine today and I have to say clearly that anyone who thought or thinks Spencer is unprofessional, I couldn't possibly disagree more. I think its more of a reflection of the person who purchased the appliance rather than Spencer. He was as said above very professional. I highly recommend this service! -
Spencer, with A1 Installations NW, installed our new dishwasher (2nd one we've bought, we love it so much) from Costco! What a delightful and professional gentleman; and so helpful with the questions we had. It was such a pleasure! Thank you, Spencer! and thank you, A1 Installations NW!

While there was some confusion as to the initial appointment for installation, they responded promptly and scheduled the installation around our needs. The installation was professionally done, kept it tightly and even educated us on proper use to extend the life of our dishwasher. I would recommend this company, thanks especially to Alan.

The A-1 team did a great job. They installed 3 toilets from Home Depot. They were on time, polite and professional. Justin & Phen(sp) worked great together helping each other to quickly and cleanly remove 3 old toilets and install their replacements.
I highly recommend.👍👍👍👍👍
New toilets were a needed upgrade. -
A1 was supposed to install a new dishwasher. They were unable to due to incomplete plumbing underneath the sink.
I was told that I would be able to reschedule the installation. They did not leave the contact information, and even after calling their office multiple times I was unable to get a hold of anybody nor did they give me a call back per their own answering machine.
Overall extremely disappointed with the service and responsiveness to their customers.
