Constraction reviews in Lake Oswego, Oregon

Very poor service. Difficult to arrange installation of our wall oven (2 + weeks).
On the day of installation, they called and said they were told that the unit had been delivered, it had not.
When I called Sears, our salesman checked to make sure it was set up correctly for them to pick up. I also checked my paperwork.
A1 did not use the correct phone number to pick up the part and because of that were told of a previous purchase that had already been installed.
In the future, I will not purchase any product if A1 is the installer.

I recently had Alan install my new dishwasher, and I couldn't be more satisfied. He arrived on time, well-prepared, and with a friendly demeanor.
He patiently explained the process and answered all my and provided helpful maintenance tips. The installation was efficient and hassle-free.
Thank you, Alan! -
Fantastic service! They have been out for a couple of installs now, both times having to correct mistakes made by the vendors i got appliances from, and had a great sense of humor about our unique situations caused by outside reps. Working with them a few times now I'm grateful for the excellent customer service and communication- i highly recommend the team at A1.
**I have read some of the other reviews and based on experience can say the issues with costco appliances are not A1's fault as they have gone above and beyond for my family when things went sideways. It is not their fault big box stores write off their customer service as soon as they get paid. -
I was told they would contact me about a dishwasher that I had paid for to be installed, they never did. I had to call them to setup the install date. The installer broke a valve while installing the dishwasher causing water to leak everywhere and was just going to leave. Then when I wanted him to fix it before he left he said “I’m not a plumber” then went to his vehicle got a new valve, charged me $90 to replace the valve that he broke. I got a refund for the valve and the entire installation and found a different company that could re route the electrical and finish the install the next day. Do not use let his company. The installers don’t know what they are doing.

The appliance installation contractor A1 Northwest is highly incompetent. First they did not provide a confirmation call the day before delivery or the day of to say they were on there way. I tried calling them to ask if they were still delivering that day and they did not answer. They finally show up at 5:30 with the washer I purchased. The delivery people lied to me and said that a different person would be coming later to install it. The second person never showed up and come to find out after talking to Home Depot they were the ones who were supposed to install it after all. Also they claimed they did not have the required parts to install it and offered me no guidance to obtain the parts. I would highly advise Home depot to stop using this contractor.

Your Costco appliance install experience varies by region and unfortunately the PNW has a bad one. They no showed my appointment and there is no one at the office to provide an update. Reporting to Google as temporarily closed until proven otherwise. If this also has happened to you, please inform Costco that A1 is your reason for cancellation.

Great work, professional crew
I purchased appliances through Costco and they contract with A1 to complete the install. I have to admit I was a little hesitant after reading reviews. I have to say, these guys were on time and professional- even making some recommendations and offering to come back when I was ready (dishwasher was not originally wired properly). They cleaned up when leaving, endured they were careful around the new cabinets and floors, and walked me through the new appliance.
They did mention some companies they contract with don’t include high quality hardware which can cause problems so I highly recommend you ask them if the hoses they’re using is what they recommend. I would recommend A1 to others in the future. -
Ordered a cooktop and oven through Costco. As mentioned by others, Costco contracts with them to do installations. Impossible to get in contact with them. Finally got an appointment by calling Costco and they were a no show today. Guess we’ll have to pay for someone else to do it. All I can recommend is to tell all your friends not to buy appliances from Costco until they find a new, more reliable partner for installations!!!

We had our dishwasher installed by A1 installation, it was for a Costco order. Recently our dishwasher door spring broke and had Kitchenaid person come to fix it, only then we realized the dishwasher was incorrectly installed by A1 installation. A1 installation did not use any sort of brackets to install the dishwasher, instead screwed the dishwasher in place by over screwing into the cabinet wood and damaging it. Now we cant pull the dishwasher out of its place. Since this is still under warranty, Costco has been trying to schedule an appointment with A1 installation to come fix this for more than 2 months, but A1 installation hasnt accepted or committed to this yet. I have personally tried to reach out to A1 installation directly, no one responds. I am now stuck with a dishwasher that has a broken door, incorrectly installed and damaged cabinet. Clearly A1 installation doesnt want to own the mess they created, its a total scam. Please be beware of this before using their service. Totally disappointed with the service.

A1 was assigned to us by Costco when we bought a dishwasher from them. They showed up when they said they would, removed our old dishwasher and had the new one installed in less than 30 minutes. Also went over features of the dishwasher with us. They did an excellent job and we were very impressed.

I just bought a new dishwasher online from Costco on December 9th. Appointment set for December 26th. Just received email from this company saying they can’t make it to our place until February 12th. I canceled my order. After reading these reviews I’m thankful I canceled order.

This review is coming a little late. Back in September of 2018 I purchased new appliances from Lowe’s. Pete from this company came out and installed my dishwasher for me. Mine was not the usual install due to the location in relation to the kitchen sink. The guy was on time, very friendly, really knew his business and did a great job. He was efficient and not there too long, cleaned up everything, did his best to protect my floors, cabinets. I am now looking them up to do the install of my over the range hood system. I see these negative reviews and I am shocked. So I am inclined to write this review and absolutely want Pete to come to Salem and do my next install job.

A1 Installations just installed my dishwasher purchased from Costco. They were excellent. They were on time, very efficient and I appreciated that they checked everything first to ensure it worked appropriately before leaving! They even showed me how to use it! Highly recommend!

Extremely frustrating - while very kind on the phone, I was sent back to call Costco logistics several times to figure out what was going on with our delivery. After learning that they typically don't deliver without doing an installation (we weren't quite ready in our remodel), they wouldn't reach out to Costco directly to coordinate a change but after several calls they said they would make an exception and deliver only as it was already on the truck and on the route. 12-3 window, I called at 3:30 to learn that it had been sent back to Costco and had to call Costco yet again to figure it out. Costco was excellent the entire time, but this is not a company I would work with again due to the poor service provided and lack of proper communication.

Had a dishwasher installed, they were contracted by Costco.
They left a leak that I noticed three days after. I contacted them and they informed me that it would take 2 days for them to get out there. Fixing it myself would "void" their warranty.
Due to this being above the shutoff valve my options were to fix it my self or not have water for a few days or rig up some janky bucket. I just fixed it myself.
To their credit they did call me back and offer to come back out that day and fix it but I already did. The water damage is done.
I hired someone to install in the first place because I didn't want to mess with it and now it's going to be 10x more of a pain to deal with than if I just did.
I highly recommend not using them. -
If I could leave negative stars, I would. We ordered a dishwasher through Costco and this delivery team was a no show 3 times, then blamed Memorial Day for the next installation date to be set out more than a week (when I should have had it long before Memorial Day would have been a factor in the first place). Finally, I just cancelled because I couldn’t get a straight answer from this team or from Costco about when they’d deliver. I spoke with the delivery/installation guy twice and he kept placing the blame back on Costco. Then, when I spoke with Costco, neither the Costco rep nor myself could get ahold of A1 Installation’s office. They’re communication between themselves and Costco is a whole mess, as they’re both sending me different delivery notices (even saying that I missed my delivery window in one, even though I was home and my security cameras don’t show any attempt).
Ultimately, Costco does all their big appliance delivery/installations in our area through this company and, between the two, nothing was ever accomplished and I decided to buy my dishwasher elsewhere. What a waste of my time and money!! -
This company installed a dishwasher (bought from Costco) at my house. Communication with the office team was very good an smooth. The crew came per the set time window. They called me half an hour before arrival. Arrived with all tools and floor protection sheet, listened and communicated very well about what I needed (because I am a picky person), tested the unit, and finally left without leaving any damage whatsoever. Thank you for such a good service.

Edit - I feel it necessary to explain a little bit about the situation here in the PNW. Understandably, many people are frustrated thinking they have appointments set up by Costco & they rely on them. I can tell you based on speaking with Barb & Curtis, that isn’t the case. A1 does installations for many major retailers & unless A1 confirms the appointment, you likely don’t have it. They are being double booked. Their appointments aren’t only dictated by Costco, there are other retailers they are obligated to install for. They are so courteous, knowledgeable, patient & helpful. I’m sorry if your experience doesn’t align with ours, but it’s likely because you’re only hearing from Costco. Reach out well ahead of your appointment, leave a message & be patient for a call back. These people are running around a massive area doing many installs every day for several different retailers. Maybe from that standpoint, it’s a little easier to understand why appointments are “missed” or calls aren’t returned immediately. Also, four months later, our dishwasher is great and working exceptionally, it cleans all our un-rinsed dishes perfectly!
A1 installations, was excellent! I could not recommend them more. Barb & Curtis came as a team to install & they were so friendly, professional, prompt, knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating - amazing. I read the reviews ahead of time & of course was apprehensive, but after having them in my home, with my two young boys present and in the way and asking lots of little kid questions, I’d recommend them to all my friends & family. Heck, I probably asked more questions than my boys and they were very patient & friendly through it all. The Costco Dishwasher install was PERFECT! Could not have been any better. They brought everything needed for the Bosch to be installed, had everything needed to keep the area neat & tidy (vac, mat.) I know people aren’t perfect & mistakes can be made, but after my experience, I’d have them back in a heartbeat. -
We recently bought a dishwasher through Costco and these folks are the contracted installer. In calling to verify what time they would be by to install it, I was told that the appointment was cancelled by Costco and she could could not provide me any additional details. She said she could see what availability they had and offered the end of the month (two weeks out). I tentatively declined that window and said i would follow up with Costco for more details. In escalating with Costco, they shared these folks overbooked and had sat on that for a week. When Costco followed up with more details, they lied and said they offered me multiple appointment windows that I declined and hung up on them. Costco asked if I would still want to work with them to find an appointment window but if they were this horrible before entering my house, I do not want to even imagine how awful they'd be once inside. I recommend everybody find a different installer if you purchase any appliances through Costco - these people will lie and do everything the opposite of what customer service is.

They called to confirm an installation appointment for an appliance I purchased through Costco.
I thought I might install the appliance myself and asked if they were available for contact over the weekend to cancel if the appointment was not needed.
They told me no, and that they would no longer honor the original appointment and I'd have to wait 3+ weeks.
I spoke with a manager who then berated me for 'wasting their time', said they were refusing the work order (which Costco had no record of refusal), and then hung up on me.
After reading these reviews I'm thankful they treated me so poorly, otherwise they may have ruined my appliance or home...
I highly recommend if you have an issue with this company you file feedback with Costco, or other vendor, directly. They have no business ruining other company's reputations with their abhorrent customer service or shotty work. -
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They took two weeks to get out for the install, tried to make us buy something we didn’t need and did not compete the install. They told us we needed a shut off value under our sink in order to install our dishwasher, which we have and you can very clearly see. I am still waiting on the “boss” to call back to discuss “the plumbing work we need to have done”. We bought our dishwasher through Costco and this is the company Costco has chosen to do their installs. Do yourself a favor and call an install company to do the work. This will make sure the warranty is still valid and better yet, Costco will make sure you are reimbursed. So unprofessional, and it completely makes sense why they are 2.8 stars. It’s incredible a company like this is able to stay in business.
