HVAC reviews in Oregon City, Oregon

Anderson heating and cooling was able to repair my air conditioning system at a fair and reasonable price, after another HVAC company had given me bad information trying to sell me a new unit for thousands and thousands of dollars.
These guys are honest and professional. If I have heating or cooling issues in the future Anderson is the first and only company I will call -
I used a Groupon to have my annual gas furnace checkup. Heather was the name of the tech who did the work. She was FANTASTIC! She was punctual, courteous, and very knowledgeable. All the techs I've met via this company have been great, but Heather tops the list. Kudos!

I wish I remembered his name! He helped replace a doohickey and got cold air for me real quick. He also gave me some maintenance advice. 👍

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. If I could give a zero star I would, because Anderson Heating and Cooling did nothing for me.
I had recently purchased a house and within a few months of occupying the place I had noticed there was a significant amount of dust in the air when the heat was turned on. I tried to clean the ducts myself with my shop vac but after some research learned I needed a company with a long bristled brush to sweep the inside of the vent to remove years of dust build up. I called Anderson and spoke with Cynthia. I explained to her my issue and what I needed and set up a date for her tech to come perform the requested service.
On the day Anderson's tech showed up he came in and I explained to him my issue. His response was "I don't know why she said I can clean the vents, I don't have those tools". He offered to shop vac as far as his arm could reach but I had already done that. He apologized for not being able to perform the work and left. This encounter was a maximum of 5 minutes.
Fast forward almost a year later I get a call from Cynthia. She states that I have an overdue invoice. I explain to her what happened that day and that the tech never gave me an invoice. She asked if he performed service on the furnace because that's what the techs notes stated. I let her know that never happened and she said she would talk with the tech and get it cleared up.
Months without any contact from Anderson went by and I figured it had figured itself out. Now I have been sent to collections for a bill I never received, on service I never got. When I tried to approach Cynthia and get this taken care of she was rude, insulting, and had blatant lies. She proceeded to tell me that I had told her "I won't pay it, so send me to collection" which is unbelievably untrue, and that she had sent several invoice and left several messages. Again untrue!
Unfortunately I will end up paying this so it does not effect my credit but I hope this tale of caution saves the next person from using Anderson. -
Was quoted on the phone by “Steve” a price for install with electrical. Told him I had the electrical covered. He lowered the price by $500. Before they came to install, I told him I couldn’t get a hold of the electrician, and asked if they could just include it. He said sure. After install I paid with Cashiers check for the full amount agreed upon. His electrician was the same guy I was going to use. So the total was still the same. After making payment he told the electrician to call me for his portion. Then told me that the price would be $500 more than what I paid. I was quoted $4400 for install, plus $500 for the electrical work. I gave a check for $4900. And now he (Steve) is saying that I still owe $500 more to his electrician. ABSOLUTELY NON SENSE!!! They will tell you one thing and then change it. Bait and Switch. I Highly recommend going with a different company!

Sent out a Tech named Kevin, he said low on refrigerant could probably use a few lbs. Added sealer and 6lbs of refrigerant, 750$. This made absolutely no difference. He said it could be the thermal expansion valve, but he has never done one. Did a little research and found it to be a fairly typical repair. Mine being a screw connection, not a brazed connection. He said he would call another person. Over a week and never heard back, even after a call and message. Called company and they just asked if i wanted to order the part, would be at least 500$. I asked if this would fix it. They said they don't. I said I don't want to dump a bunch of money into a system and then replace it. I would rather buy a whole new system then just keep throwing parts at it. The lady told me three time I could call someone else. Horrible service. Go somewhere else, don't waste any money with these people. Can't believe a business would pass on replacing a system, just to screw someone out of 750$.

The tech showed up to my house to service my AC and heater. He looked at my heater for maybe 5 seconds before telling me I needed a new one and refused to look at the AC claiming it would be in the same condition. I had a different company come out a week later. He was able to fix both of them and told me that my heater had balloons stuck in it which was extremely dangerous. Definitely do not recommend this company to anyone. Tech should not have a job honestly.

My wife and I picked Anderson Heating after getting 4 bids in the local Oregon City area. We got a new furnace, additional filter cassette, new Central A/C, new gas water heater installed, and a new Ecobee 4 smart thermostat with sensor.
From quote to installation, Steve and his team showed up on time, did everything they said they would do, and replaced the thermostat when the wrong one was accidentally picked up. Highly recommend, as did my neighbor. -
If you want to have a honest and reliable company to give you a fair and accurate bid for whatever your heating and cooling needs are I would strong recommend Anderson's. I live in Vancouver and had on going issues with my heating unit which was relatively old. They didn't try to upsell me or tell me I needed more than I actually did to get my unit up and running again. I was expecting to spend at least $1000 and ended up spending less than $500. Two years later my neighbor was shooting darts at raccoons and ended up shooting my outside unit- I reached out to Anderson's and they were able to give me a bid over the phone since they had previously worked on my house and could get me on the books in less than a week. Being a single female, I was extremely concerned that I would have to at least get a couple bids when having issues and then looking to replace because I was expecting the pricing and recommendations to be through the roof- Anderson's made it so I didn't have to. The owners have the utmost integrity and simply believe in doing the right thing and creating a return customer which you don't often see these days. They even have specials occasionally for tune-ups and making sure your system is ready for winter. Stop searching and reach out to Anderson's today- you won't regret it.

It's the first cold snap of the winter -- Dec 2019 -- and of course that's when my furnace goes on the fritz. Anderson Heating saves the day. Steve came over -- on the weekend -- and takes a look at it. Unfortunately it was beyond saving and I needed to get a new one. But, no worries - they had a new one available and were able to schedule the install for that week. Steve arrived on time and got the work done quickly. The new furnace is working like a charm. I will contact them for future maintenance, etc. Great job, Steve!

I found Anderson Heating and Cooling when looking for someone to complete annual maintenance on our aging heat pump. I was impressed with the representative that came out (I completely forget his name). My wife and I have been saving for a while to replace our current HVAC system (installed in '93). We decided to go forward with things this Fall and, in preparation, I arranged five companies to give estimates.
I had some good (and not so great) experiences) but kept coming back to Anderson. The price was right and the owner, Steve, was low-key, knowledgeable, and straight forward. I'm happy we chose them to install replace our system. The installation appointment was incredibly smooth and I was never pressured or upsold. There were no surprises and the price was exactly as estimated.
I hope to enjoy a lot of low-to-no maintenance years to come with our new system, but I will definitely be using Anderson for my future needs. I highly recommend them as a company. -
I moved into a new house and had Anderson H&C out for inspection, cleaning and tune up of my furnace right after moving in. I started noticing what smelled like natural gas but some said they smelled it and others no, so called the gas company and they said yes, hazardous leak coming from the flex line in the furnace right in front when the panel comes off. I called Anderson H&C to ask them to come repair the flex line that they'd either nicked or missed during the inspection less than a month before and the guy refused, saying I'd have to pay to have them fix it and heating systems have issues all the time less than a month after they come out for inspections. I haven't touched the furnace since they came out. When I said that's the point of an inspection (to make sure it's safe and working properly), he said I had an entitled attitude (??). Never using them again, definitely would never trust them working on my system and called me entitled (??) for expecting to have a safe, working furnace after I paid them to do an inspection.

I chose Anderson heating & cooling for new AC and furnace installation after getting 4 quotes from other companies because of great value and nice customer reviews I read online and on Angie's list. The owner Steve came out to talk to me prior to installation and was very professional & kind. On the day of installation technition Heather and Kevin showed up on time and completed the work and they were both very nice to work with. Kevin went over everything when the work was completed and answered all my questions. He was very caring and professional! Thank You Steve, Heather and Kevin for providing excellent customer service and job well done! I will recommend you to my friends!

Anderson Heating is a great company and I highly recommend them. We reached out for a quote and Steve got right back to us and answered all our questions. We got scheduled to have our furnaces and AC replaced quickly. Steve, Heather and Kevin were very professional and thorough. Steve put in extra time to figure out how to get our system to work properly with new filters. This company goes above and beyond and their prices are the lowest we found with the best service and quality products. I highly recommend Anderson Heating and Cooling.

Anderson Heating and Cooling installed a new furnace 7/18 and we could not be happier with the entire process. After getting 3 other quotes we called Anderson on a referral from someone previously in the HVAC business. Steve responded quickly with 3 options via email and then answered our questions over the phone. The technicians arrived right on time and explained the installation process before they started and did not do anything not "standard" with asking us first. We highly recommend them.

Made an appointment for an AC tune up last Monday. Scheduler and I agreed on a time and date, which was today at 3pm. No call, no show. I spoke to someone on the phone. She said I wasn’t on the schedule today so no one would be coming. Nice job Anderson Heating and Cooling. Looking for that ac or furnace tune up? I recommend going somewhere else who stick to the agreed upon scheduled time.

Our gas furnace of 28 years old began to show signs of failure, so we decided to replace it, got bids, etc. The best explanation for options, and the best price, was by Anderson. We contracted them to do the job, which was done in a day. The furnace worked fine, but the internal circuit breaker popped occasionally. Steve, the owner, was quick to respond, and suspected the smart thermostat (intermittent problems can be hard to pin down), so bypassed it with a battery-powered thermostat, and the problem stopped. We are warm and happy at winter's start.

We had Anderson install a furnace replacement and AC install. Through the quote process, Steve was very helpful as we looked at various options and he provided a very competitive price. Rachel and Heather did the work itself and we were very impressed with them. They worked hard for a long 12hr shift, kept a very clean work site, and were helpful/flexible with a difficult exhaust vent situation.

I had a tech come out to give me a quote to add dampers to my heating system in September. After three service visits (and visit charges!) where different techs were uninformed of what they were supposed to be doing as well multiple no call/no show appointments missed over about six weeks, I gave up and went somewhere else since they said they'd no longer be able to fit me in their schedule due to the busy season. I was a previous happy customer and will no longer be recommending them to anyone I know in my life personally.

This is a late review. The owner happened to be the person who came to my home. He was thorough, friendly, and to the point. Within a few days they replaced my 23 yr old: air conditioning unit, hot water heater and furnace at a fair and competitive price all in less than one day. Their customer service by their two installation t professionals was best of class. They are prompt, fair, and timely. I strongly endorse them.

Unpermitted, Unsafe, and Unprofessional . Avoid at All Costs
Hired for a full HVAC install, worst mistake I’ve made as a homeowner. I confirmed with the City of Hillsboro that no permit or inspection was ever done.
The installation itself was a disaster:
• The main trunk from the air handler in my garage was left uninsulated, causing heavy condensation, repeated flooding, and water damage.
• The condenser was noisy from day one; the upper fan bearing failed almost immediately.
• A constant low droning sound now carries through the bedrooms near the air return. And one end of the house is hot and the other cold.
• They chopped through ceiling joists for duct placement without proper support, drilled multiple test holes in the ceilings, and left drywall dust all over my home — including on a MacBook Pro and brand-new washer/dryer.
• The subcontracted electrician aggressively demanded payment on-site (we thought it was part of the main job), knocked holes in my garage wall, left without patching, and showed up in a van packed like a dump run.
Repeated calls for service were met with “the owner will call you back” ,that call never came.
This company not only left me with a defective, potentially unsafe system, but also damaged my home and ignored every opportunity to make it right
