I've been in the construction industry my whole life and this is the first place that really puts the customers best interest first instead of just giving them the illusion of it; and they make this possible by also putting their employees in a good position. (We are well taken care of, and because of that the customer receives "in my opinion" what I've seen to be the best customer service in the industry)

A lot goes into making sure that the clients are satisfied. It is unlike anything I've seen in this industry before.

Chris came to our home for an estimate and was friendly, informative, straightforward, and very helpful in helping us narrow our priorities. While we decided to focus on other needed jobs, we will not hesitate to contact Square Deal in the future.

We hired SDR to do an entire remodel of our first floor. This included a new kitchen, deletion/widening of a few windows, opening up of a wall, floors, laundry remodel, fireplace remodel. They were amazing and easy to work with throughout the entire process. They were very quick to respond when we had any concerns or issues. There were several instances that they came out after hours when we found something to quickly resolve the issue. They were very good about giving us options and working with us when as with any remodel plans needed to change. I would very highly recommend SDR to anyone looking to perform a remodel.

I realize that Square Deal remodeling specializes in kitchen remodeling but I wouldn't hesitate to call on them again . May be the next time it will be Square Dean remodeling our kitchen. Square Deal removed several walls for us and remodeled our kitchen and guest bathroom. Their designer, project manager, employees and sub contractors all did a great job. We were given a calendar at the beginning of the project, which was meticulously adhered to. They provided helpful information and simplified the decision making process, and were also open to our suggestions and requested changes. I would certainly hire them again.

We used Square Deal Remodel for a Kitchen & First Floor Remodel. The project was completed on time and within budget. The quality of the finished work is amazing, it looks beautiful.

The project duration was over 4 months, and even with living in the residence while the work was being done the team was great. They put up with changes in schedule on our part, our pets, very respectful of our home.

After they finished the work our dishwasher broke, which was an older unit we had kept from prior the work. Well, being inexperienced DIY'ers we decided to purchase and install by ourselves. Unfortunately, we flooded our brand new kitchen as a result! Jim personally helped us navigate the home insurance process, and quickly scheduled us to start the work. They re-finished the floor in record time and tied up all loose ends.

We look forward in working with Square Deal in our future project, which will be many.

We have a mid-century NE Portland home, which needed a new kitchen and adjoining den. Jim, Anne, Eric were all very attentive to our desires and also educated us about new ways of improving the function of our rooms. They spent a great deal of time with us at the planning stage and those sessions along with the computer-generated plans that helped us visualize how it would look were very, very valuable! Although we had no structural work done, there was need of extra work (and costs) due to surprises found during deconstruction. This is probably typical in an older home. In spite of that, we are very happy with the work that SDR did and we love our newly remodeled spaces. One of the pleasures of working with their company has been their friendliness and their enjoyment of their work. Many employees have been with them a very long time. The majority of the work was done within a week of the expected completion date and they are coming back to finish a few small things we’ve noticed after living with the remodel for 5 weeks or so. I would heartily recommend Square Deal Remodel!

SDR and all of their subs were great to work with. Everything went well from initial consultation and design with Chris and Anne to negotiations and communication while I was away, and especially Eric the PM kept subs on schedule and completed the job timely and very nicely. I am thrilled with the results.

Hello, we initially hired Square Deal for window and siding replacement, however, once we started pulling off the siding they found a large amount of rot which considerably extended the project. I was so impressed with the ongoing communication from Terry throughout the entirety of the process. He came by the house often and was available whenever we needed him. We are very impressed with the quality of the work completed and very pleased we chose Square Deal. Everyone at Square Deal, from the office team to the carpenters, were helpful and friendly. I’m pleased to have a safe and sound house going into winter!

This was a mid-sized project reconfiguring and renovating the stairway leading to an upstairs bedroom. We worked with Square Deal on a prior project (kitchen renovation and related improvements) and that project turned out very well, so we had no concerns choosing Square Deal for this project. The latest project also turned out great -- on time and on budget. We hit a few snags, but our house is relatively old (1919) and the Square Deal reps had warned us beforehand that we won't know exactly what we are dealing with until we do some demolition. The craftsmen working on the project were very considerate -- we were living in the house for part of the project and dust control was excellent -- and took time to explain the various steps in the process. We highly recommend Square Deal and would not hesitate to work with them again.

We hired Square Deal to do a major remodel of our home. We were blown away with their professionalism and skill. Throughout the initial part of the process, as we were figuring out the design, finishes and final look of our home, they were extremely accessible, answered questions promptly, and provided us with lots of different options and actually listened to what we wanted! It was so refreshing to work with a team that was extremely competent and helpful. As the project was progressing, and we hit some snags in our original plans (due to the original owners of our home that did not disclose major defects in the construction), Square Deal was able to quickly adapt the initial project, provided us with alternative ideas and suggestions, and were able to finalize the new plans quickly. The project finished within the initial 9-month timeline they had provided us and came in exactly on budget! We are very happy with the finished project and would gladly recommend Square Deal to anyone looking for a company to remodel a home.

Amazing experience! I had a major remodel. Added a basement ADU, moved stairs, all new plumbing, new electric, new footings, etc. This 4 month project that was turned over on time. There were a few surprises but the team worked to stay on schedule. Compare this to my brothers remodel just before mine. It was to be 3 months and ran 5 1/2 months.

Communication was clear and direct which was much appreciate. Team is flexible and didn't get frustrated with my questions and discussion's of why we something would or would not work.

We have used Square Deal for one meduim-sized, and two major projects. They did a complete gut and refinish of the basement and attic in our 1916 bungalow, as well as turning a previous extension into a period-correct sun porch.

The company is fantastic to work with. They have very tight relationships with all of their subcontractors, which means you get quality work that generally stays on-schedule. Once your project has been planned, you will get a calendar that shows what work will be done each day of the project. SDR is VERY GOOD at keeping to that schedule.

All of the SDR employees and all of their subs were very friendly and respectful of our time and space. All three of our projects were well managed. They show up for work at 8:00 EVERY DAY and do everything in their power to stay on schedule and provide quality work.
