Tom is one of the best home inspectors I've ever worked with. His competency, thoroughness and passion for this work shows through - and you feel assured that you have all of the right information before making a decision to purchase (and plan out your improvements). Tom's skills were invaluable in looking at a rehabbed property that had improper plumbing and sewer work done - many of his inspection techniques go beyond what I've seen other inspectors do. When I finally did fine the right property, Tom's inspection (and enthusiasm!) reassured me I was making the right choice. I can't recommend Tom enough and he's worth every penny!

We were able to get our inspection done the day after calling Tom due to a cancellation. He was extremely detailed and the report was very easy to read and understand. As a remodel contractor he was able to inspect the house for what it was but also understand the changes we hoped to make in the future. He was also extremely knowledgeable about the issues to look for in the neighborhood where the house was located. You only get that kind of experience from a local who has been doing this a long time. He was also super nice so I’m happy I believed all of the reviews! We hope this house works out for us and we are able to negotiate thanks to Tom’s report. If not, I know who I will be calling for the next house.

Tom has performed 3 home inspections for us now for properties we have made offers on. He has been easy to schedule with for our realtor, coming out within days of the request. Tom was very easy to work with. He responded promptly to my request for a quote. We were able to quickly set up an inspection time. Tom was very thorough and professional. It was clear that he has a wealth of experience to draw on - he has seen it all. At the end of the inspection, he walked me around the house showing me what he found, and what the impact of the issues would be. His final report was posted within a few hours, and included pictures with clear descriptions of the findings. I would highly recommend Tom to others.

I have had Tom inspect 2 properties in the past 5 years. He is really knowledgable and personable, taking time to really help me understand what I am getting into. He also has a lot of knowledge of history, materials and sourcing that is super fun to listen to. We could have probably spoken to him forever about the actual house and just life stuff :)

We had Tom out to do a home inspection because of some serious problems with the bathroom tile, but he went over the whole home and found a number of other issues. Some of them were things which once you see them you can't unsee them, but we had never noticed before. I really appreciated his professionalism, knowledge, and calm. It was really nice getting an opinion from someone who is not (and cannot) sell you anything. We're fairly proactive about home maintenance and I expect to have him back out in a couple years to see if we've fixed everything and / or if there are any new issues.

We had Victor and James do the following work on our nearly 100 year old home: Kitchen updates including the installation of a new dishwasher and oven vent hood, installation of a bathroom fan, and updated/new pipes throughout the home. They also installed some new windows, a new front door, and framed a 12’x20’ deck for us.

Throughout the various projects both Victor and James were excellent in their communication, communicating when work would start each day, and when things needed to move around.

Their pricing is fair for the Portland market. They set expectations early, and follow through with great work. They’re both experienced, and it shows in what they can do. The subcontractors Victor works with are all vetted and he manages them really well, keeping projects on time and within scope. Victor and James were also happy to answer all my silly questions about the projects and what they were doing on a given day.

I plan on coming back to Noble Fir Construction in the future for my home updates. I’d recommend them for any project your house may need!

I’ve worked with Victor and Evan twice. Once on my own house and another for a project at my studio. They are fantastic communicators, problem solvers, and craftsmen!

We hired Victor, Evan, and the team at Noble Fir for two jobs in the past year: a partial bathroom remodel followed by a complete kitchen remodel and flooring replacement. We are very happy with the outcome of both projects.

Victor and Evan take great pride in their work, and they pay attention to the details. Close enough is not good enough for them; instead the work will be done correctly and with outstanding workmanship. For example, they noticed that a kitchen cabinet we had picked out could be replaced with a larger cabinet to give us additional storage space and countertop area. They gave us the option to swap it, we said yes, and they went to Ikea to get the replacement cabinet to install. As another example, after the demolition, we noticed that an HVAC vent had been buried under the kitchen floor for years. We didn't even know it was there. Evan took it upon himself to create a channel underneath the new cabinets so that the vent could be used again. It was an elegant solution that left us better than before.

Victor and Evan are both friendly, polite, respectful of our space, and good communicators. We were kept informed, and Victor was very responsive to text messages for updates.

We highly recommend Noble Fir Construction, and we intend to use them again on our next projects.

Noble Fir handled my exterior renovation which included porch/ stair demo, building of a new porch, exterior paint, concrete, and some electrical.

Victor was thoughtful, honest, communicative, and reliable. His team was always on time, and did great work. They also offered sound advice and left the work site clean when the job was complete.

Victor and Evan were great! We needed some improvements in the master bath of our new home they were able to accommodate us. I definitely recommend Noble Fir!

Victor is a terrific, capable, and engaged contractor. We had a large remodel project that occurred in two phases. It's an old house, which means there are always surprises. Victor did a great job managing the things you simply cannot plan for when you start ripping into the walls of a 1907 farm house. He always had great ideas for working around 'old house' stuff, and the end results are fantastic! Phase 2 required a completely new foundation. Victor worked well with the foundation contractor to ensure we kept moving forward, coordinated subcontractors to keep scope of work appropriately aligned between his team and the foundation people, and stayed on top of the permits. If you have a remodel project - big or small - I highly recommend Noble Fir Construction.
