Scott Akin, owner of GreenTech, installed a ductless minisplit heat pump in my rental ADU (accessory dwelling unit) in 2017. Scott and Abe have always provided good product, highest technical understanding, and excellent customer service. Scott has impressed me with speedy responses to any issues I’ve had with the heat pump, always including comprehensive information for me as a consumer, to better understand my product and get the most out of it. Just last week, the ADU heat pump inexplicably stopped working and my tenant informed me after 9pm she had no heat. I immediately emailed GreenTech, not expecting to hear anything until the next business day, but within 15 minutes (after 9pm!) Scott responded that he would come by the next morning to assess the issue and provide space heaters. While I’m embarrassed to report that the issue was only a tripped breaker, the point is Scott’s attention to customer service as much as consumer education, and continuing to support his product even seven years after installation. Bottom line – I trust GreenTech’s technical and ethical business model, and have been impressed with their high level of customer service and consumer education.

I've used GreenTech since 2017. Scott and Abe have installed HVAC systems in 3 of my houses. Their installs are done to very high standards and have exceeded my expectations. They are very neat and efficient. They always leave the jobsite immaculate when they are done. Not to mention they are a pleasure to be around. I couldn't be more satisfied with their work. I've recommended them to my son for his install, and fully recommend them to anyone.

My wife and I do not post reviews on the internet, but we decided to make an exception when Scott emailed GreenTech’s longtime customers to say that GreenTech’s many excellent Google reviews got disconnected from Google searches after GreenTech recently upgraded its website.

We have worked with Scott, and later Abe, since 2011, when Scott helped us install a Daikin ductless heat pump system in our ductless (electric pocket heater heated) home. Scott helped us choose the right system for our home and design the optimal configuration. He was attentive, but with no sales pressure. When we decided to proceed, the work was done on time and on budget. We have had Scott or Abe inspect and service our system every year since; they are always responsive, reasonably priced, and keep our system running with no problems. And on top of that, Scott and Abe are very nice guys. We highly recommend GreenTech.

Green Tech has been my "go to" heating and cooling company since 2012. Scott and Abe have done heating and cooling work for us at both our home and at a rental. They are professional, knowledgeable, and take pride in the integrity of their work. Scott even managed to fit us in when an electrical outage caused damage to our furnace one winter. Simply the best!

Since 2017 - on a couple of projects - we have been extremely happy with Scott and Abe @ GreenTech. They installed zones on the north and south sides of the house; adding AC/Heat to our home....we love it. All parts and pieces have worked quietly and efficiently; the installation was clean and detailed oriented (interior and exterior). Scott and Abe have integrity; they are- promptly responsive, reliable and communicative. We had them back for a remodel - to disconnect & reconnect units; the process went very smoothly. Fourteen years ago I bought a house with a very old oil furnace. I contacted several furnace companies and chose Scott because he had the lowest price and offered to have the old furnace recycled. Scott did a very professional job installing my new furnace. He has serviced this furnace on a regular basis and it is still in great condition.

GreenTech is a pleasure to work with. We found Scott back in 2009 when we were doing a reno and he installed a ductless system for us. It's still working great many years later. They were a pleasure to work with and have done a couple of other projects for us over the years including a full furnace/AC replacement. They stand by their work and have always been super responsive whenever any issues pop up. Would highly recommend them, Scott's a great guy.

We love GreenTech! They are a great company. We got bids from several HVAC companies when we needed a new furnace and we are so glad that we chose GreenTech! Scott was really informative and helpful in discussing our needs and the kind of furnace that would work best for us. He did not try to "sell" us on the highest-priced furnace, but just very clearly explained our options. Installation was a bit difficult in our old house, but Scott is highly skilled and got everything working perfectly. He came back 3 years later to help us change out our thermostat and has been totally reliable and helpful no matter what we need. He responds quickly and always shows up when he says he will. I've recommended GreenTech to many friends and they have had a great experience as well.

Greentech is a great local company and highly recommended. We first worked with Scott in 2013 installing a mini split that replaced our furnace and added cooling in our small house. Our challenge was that we needed one unit to work on the entire main floor and Scott figured out the perfect placement that has made the most efficient use and kept us in comfort. Over the years we have met Abe who has cleaned our indoor unit and has shown up friendly and on time. We recently decided to get a unit for the upstairs and with no doubt we called Greentech. Again, job well done: quick, clean and always friendly! They’re the best!

Green Tech replaced our gas furnace in 2013. We got three bids before doing the replacement and Scott was the most knowledgeable and professional by far of the bunch. His work was fantastic and we loved the new furnace, so when it came time to add a mini split system to the upstairs of our bungalow and then later to a ADU we were building we called Scott. Nate was recently here for maintenance and he too is a gem. Not only is their work solid and honestly priced, they are patient with your questions and good people who enjoy their craft.

Scott and Abe have done several projects for us going back to 2018. First they installed a mini-split when we converted our garage to an office. Then they moved the mini-split (which had been put in by someone else before we found GreenTech) in our attic bedroom and corrected some issues with the previous install. They were great, so when our old gas furnace gave out we called them again. Scott gave us great advice and then installed a new, more efficient gas furnace plus AC. We appreciate their expertise, the quality of their work, and their advice and help maintaining all the systems they've installed here. Our house and office are comfy! Plus, they are fun to work with.

Scott from GreenTech installed my furnace in 2014 and I have had no problems in a decade. We were so happy with our experience that this summer, we hired Scott and Abe to install central air conditioning. They were fast, professional, and easy to work with, and both of them are just genuinely good dudes. I can’t recommend them highly enough. We got a ductless system from GreenTech in 2013, and couldn't be happier! Scott took the time to educate us about our options, and really listened to our needs, so that we ended up with the perfect solution for our situation. We have relied on him ever since, and recommend him to friends at every opportunity.
Scott's integrity is beyond compare. When our neighbors had a furnace issue, the first company they called turned off their furnace (in the middle of winter!), told them it would be dangerous to turn it on again, and that the only solution was replacement. We recommended a second opinion from Scott, and even though he was super busy, he made time for them. Just hours later, their fears were were soothed, their furnace was working again, and they had time to research & shop for their next furnace in comfort, instead of making a snap decision from a place of scare-tactic-induced desperation.
He really stands behind what he sells, too. Our ductless unit had a problem from the factory that showed up after about 8 years. Even though it wasn't his fault, Scott spent the better part of a day practically re-building it, and gave us a massive discount on his time and labor, simply because he had recommended that unit so many years prior.
GreenTech is a small (2-man) operation, not a huge place with a lot of overhead. They do quality work can be relied up on to look out for YOUR needs -- if you really don't need something, they give you the straight scoop. Five stars!

We've used Greentech for several projects at our 1925 house including adding air conditioning to the existing furnace as well as replacing a failing dryer vent. Each time Scott has been easy to communicate with, reliable, and has spent a lot of time educating me on options and pros/cons. I initially got several quotes for our AC project and ultimately Scott stood out for fairness, honesty, and competitive price. Abe has also been great to work with for ongoing maintenance and adding a filter cabinet. I will continue to use them and highly recommend their services!

This company is tops. Scott spent extra time telling us about their product, reviewed placement options, then really came through on the installation. I reached out to Scott referred by my close friend for advice on cooling options for my attic, and I was genuinely impressed by his honesty and clarity. Even though installing a mini-split system could have meant more business for him, he took the time to explain—clearly and thoughtfully—why it wasn’t the right solution for my space. His priority was what made sense for my home, not his bottom line. After all, my attic was okay this summer with new fans.

While he was here, I asked him to take a look at my not-so-old 12-year-old furnace, which had been making odd noises and acting up. Scott did a thorough inspection completely free of charge, identified the issue, and walked me through several options. Ultimately, I chose to replace the unit, which had been poorly set up and was severely clogged. I’m so glad I did—it’s made a huge difference.

I can't say enough about how great GreenTech is. I am very happy with my mini-splits, furnace, and air conditioning setup. I have been working with Scott at GreenTech for over 10 years now, in two separate homes, and referred them several times. I have been trying to reach Scott Akin for over six months with no response. He has refused to return my phone calls, text messages, or emails — even emails sent by my realtor on my behalf.
In August, Scott sent out an automated email stating that he was very busy, but that if you were already a client and he installed your HVAC and furnace, he would be sure to get back to you. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I first reached out in August and have made numerous attempts over the past six months with no reply.
We invested a significant amount of money in this HVAC system. During the past six months, I have had Sunset Heating and Cooling come out to my home three separate times. Each time, they have told me the same thing: the mechanical components (furnace, HVAC unit, thermostat) are all functioning properly, but there is a communication error due to the wiring. Sunset has stated that the wiring is not how they install systems and that the installer needs to correct it.
Because Scott refuses to respond or take responsibility for his work, I have been completely without heating and cooling for the last six months. This has been especially concerning as I have a 10-month-old baby, a 5-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a 16-year-old in my home.
This is strictly a business matter. I am simply asking for accountability and follow-through on the system that was installed. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Greentech Heating and Cooling.

Our heater blew out in the middle of winter. Simi came out same day and had our heater back up and running by the end of the day. Competitive pricing and really reliable.

Great service! Was able to get out sooner than originally estimated and got us back up and running with AC.
