Cornell Plumbing and Heating ANSWERED THE CALL! Our furnace crapped out in the winter, it was 20+ years old so we knew it was coming but put it off until it died. We were freezing for less than a day before Cornell quickly responded to our request for an inspection to see if the furnace was fixable. The inspector was very thorough and helped us understand all of the issues with our dead furnace and quickly got us connected to Randy who came over in a matter of minutes to walk through the options. Randy was very very knowledgeable and so friendly. I never felt pressured when talking to him, he was very practical and honest about what would be the best bang for our buck, while ensuring we had a solid heater for decades to come. We were on the fence about installing central AC (our house was built in 1890) but the summers in Portland have gotten so tumultuous that every year for the past four years, we've shopped around for AC quotes but just couldn't afford to commit. Randy built a great package for us that added AC to our furnace for a price that was very reasonable, so, we did it! We have a two year old and a baby on the way and we are very very thankful to know we have cool summers ahead of us and warm winters to enjoy in the comfort of our home. It's been night and day with the new furnace compared to what we were working with before. I never knew how warm our home COULD have been, until we got our new furnace installed. Oddly enough, our neighbors furnace also died like a week later and he saw we had Cornell over and asked about our experience. We were very quick to highly recommend Cornell, and my neighbor also got a new furnace from them! Needless to say, it was a smooth, quick and satisfying experience, you know, as satisfying as it can be to have to suddenly invest in heating and cooling, which can be many tens of thousands of dollars... but with the right folks, and the right system, the experience can be a sort of blessing in disguise - which it was for us!

Our hot water heater broke suddenly last night. Jake at Cornel came quickly, fixed the issue, showed us how to troubleshoot for next time, and helped us figure out how to save money. He was very friendly and explained what he was doing in an easy to understand way. After running some quick numbers, we ended up getting the 1 year membership so it will be easier and more cost effective to schedule follow up maintenance for our HVAC as well, since that hasn't been looked at in almost 10 years & we've been meaning to do that anyways. We used Cornel a couple times before & had a good experience again today!

Jake and James did a great job investigating and problem solving our water heater recirculation issues. We ended up replacing it since it was 10 years old. They were knowledgeable and personable. The new installation was quoted at a fair price and done very efficiently. I highly recommend Cornell Plumbing.

Our experience was great! Eric was on time for our appointment, was very professional, and got right to work, and cleared the drain quickly. He was upfront to let us know about possible pipe issues, as we have an older house. He explained what he found afterward and did a quick inspection of the rest of the drains to make sure we didn’t have any further issues. I highly recommend Eric and Cornel’s Plumbing.

We had a clogged and leaking kitchen sink. Cornel was able to come out within a few hours. We’ve had the opportunity to use their services previously for a tub issue and this latest experience solidified our trust in their work.

On a busy Wednesday morning, I discovered that my water heater had suddenly stopped working and wouldn’t turn on. With a house full of people and no hot water, it felt like an emergency from the start. I searched for the nearest plumbing company and came across Cornel’s Plumbing. I left a message around 7:00 AM and was promptly contacted, even through their AI system, which efficiently gathered my information and helped get things moving.

Shortly after, I called back to confirm the appointment, and to my surprise, they were able to schedule a technician within just a few hours. The technician arrived with a professional attitude, thoroughly inspected the unit, and clearly explained that the water heater was beyond repair. He provided a quote on the spot. At the time, I felt the price was a bit high, so I thanked him for his time. He remained courteous, knowledgeable, and respectful, and even encouraged me to get other opinions if needed. That level of confidence and professionalism really stood out.

I did exactly that and contacted a couple of other companies. One came on Thursday and another on Friday morning. To my shock, both quotes were nearly three times as high as what Cornel’s plumbing had originally offered. That alone spoke volumes.

By Friday morning, I called them back and told them I was ready to move forward. I asked how quickly they could return, and they reassured me that once the paperwork was ready, they could handle it the same day. True to their word, they arrived around 1 PM after our 10 AM conversation, completed the installation by about 3 PM, and left the area immaculate. Everything was put back exactly the way it was, clean, organized, and fully functional.

What impressed me the most was their responsiveness and sense of urgency. While other companies were offering appointments as late as the following Monday or Tuesday, Cornel’s Plumbing understood the seriousness of having no hot water in a home with multiple people. They truly rose to the occasion, delivering fast, reliable, and high-quality service.

Professional, courteous, efficient, and dependable from start to finish. This is exactly the kind of company you hope to find in a stressful situation. Excellent service all around — and without hesitation, they will be my first call the next time I need plumbing work.

Brendan did a terrific job installing our Phyn auto water shutoff today. He was careful and efficient, wrapping up faster than expected. I appreciated that he took the time to answer questions about my water heater after a long day. This was my first experience with Cornel's and I'd happily call them again.

From the time I ordered a new water heater to installation being fully completed was less than 24 hours. Super easy process and experience all around. James was the install tech and he was polite, clean, articulate, and knowledgeable. The price was competitive too. I wholeheartedly would use Cornel’s again.

What an awesome company. Their customer service game is on point, My tech Nathan really went above and beyond to make sure that I understood the value I was getting of service, Took time to not just explain the current state of the equipment, but to show me the defects and things I can do too keep it running as long as possible. I really, really appreciated the Appointment reminder and heads up when they were on their way. He was punctual and super respectful of my home, keeping everything clean and tidy.

Eric did a great job of cleaning three bathroom sink drains. He was friendly, courteous, efficient, on time, and he was able to do his work neatly and without our having to move things out of his way. Juan, who was also very friendly and courteous, diagnosed and efficiently replaced a part in one toilet and looked at our water heater. He also did a great job and provided a quote for a possible future water heater replacement. I highly recommend Cornel's.

Alex and Juan came out and promptly replaced a leaking faucet. Very clear with the options and pricing, replaced quickly and efficiently. Communication was excellent. Will be using again.

Edit: scheduled a furnace tuneup and turned out the original 20+ year old furnace needed to be replaced. Nate walked us through everything that was going wrong with the furnace and several different options for repair or replacement as well as deals and payment options. No one wants to get hit with this bill but he made it as painless as possible. Super friendly and respectful, transparent and personable.

Cornel's Plumber, James Pearson, performed maintenance on our Tankless Water Heater. He was very through, took his time and explained what had been done. We were very happy with the service overall.

Cornell‘s plumbing provided an excellent service and experience for us. We took advantage of a water heater service special. Kevin Van Dyke serviced our exterior tankless Gas hot water heater. He was personable and very professional. Kevin explained exactly what he was going to do and even gave professional tips on how to care for our hot water heater and keep our plumbing system clean and flowing. He even provided pictures and video of his work to further prove his honest and thorough expertise. I would trust Kevin to service our system again… he was great! Excellent service!!!! 5 stars! Juan got rid of are old hot water heater (2008) and replaced it with a new high efficiency one. Replaced all the corroded plumbing and old ball valves, as well. Friendly, fast and efficient just like our new water heater. Highly recommend this team at Cornell’s.

Vinnie who helped us with installing a new water heater was so transparent and recommended the best solution for our needs and clearly mentioned the pricing and process. Within an hour and half, he installed a new water heater and got it running, especially on Halloween day. These guys are the best.
