We recently hired Columbia NW to replace our furnace, AC and water heater. The entire process from the bidding process through installation was extremely easy and stress free. Ivan and Joey were our installation team and willing to answer questions and explain the process as it went along. Columbia exemplifies the gold standard in customer service!

Columbia NW was able to schedule me a same day appointment. Jairus called before arrival. He was on time, professional and very personal. He completed our service and repairs in a timely manner. When he was finished he explained the process and showed pictures He left our interior and exterior as clean as it was before his arrival. I would highly recommend them.

We needed a tune up for our furnace and it occasionally seemed like I could smell gas near it. Scheduling was easy. Their appt window is a whole day at first but when it gets closer they give you about an hour window which was nice. The tech who came was kind and respectful of our space. Very polite.

They did indeed find a small gas leak. Seemed kind of expensive for the repair considering how long it took but these things all cost more than I expect. The tune up price was very fair compared to others. I was happy with them and would call them again

Columbia NW Heating & Air Conditioning was great. Everyone from the owner to the newest tech was professional and courteous.

I had selected Columbia NW as one of the few contractors that could provide a turnkey installation of a ground sourced heat pump. (The PGE website lists many contractors that install GSHPs, but it isn't accurate.) Another HVAC contractor was in the running but required me to find and deal with the excavation portion of the project.

Columbia NW pulled the permits, accurately described the installation process, and was able to work through the installation challenges in a timely fashion. (E.g. where to bury the ground loop while not interfering with the septic fields or valued trees.) They improved the existing cold air ducting airflow and did a great job. I would definitely use them again!

Technician was very sweet. Had a look at my furnace since it kept tripping. She replaced a few wires but it continued to trip. Suggested a new furnace.. decided to have a neighbor look at it and turns out it was just a few bad connections that needed to be tightened.. everything is back working and no more tripping. Probably should train them to fasten connections. Dodged a costly replacement!

I had Columbia NW Healing and Air Conditioning install my AC unit about 2–3 years ago, and I’ve had nothing but trouble since. My condensation pump kept breaking — I replaced it a couple of times thinking it was just bad luck, but the third one completely failed.

After taking a closer look myself, I discovered the real issue: the installer ran the drain tube with a tight 90-degree bend and didn’t use any proper elbows. The pipe was kinked like a bent garden hose, barely allowing any water through. Because of that, my condensation pumps were overworking and burning out one after another.

This was clearly an installation mistake that caused unnecessary expense and frustration. I’m very disappointed in their workmanship and attention to detail. Would not recommend.

Brian was awesome! He was very polite, professional, and just generally nice to talk to. I was extremely happy to not have questions at the end of the install because he had already answered anything i could have possibly wanted to know. I cant wait for when we need our furnace serviced because i get to call these guys again. HIGHLY recommend to anybody and everybody who needs a water heater replaced or serviced, they were able to come out and put a new water heater in for me within 24 hours of me calling them. I'm so thankful 🩶🩶🩶🩶🩶

Dave Whispell (Project Mgr) and Ivan (installer) did a great job for me this Sept. 2025. They installed a full house Heat Pump system, along with all ducting to my new addition building, new gas lines and a new premium whole house tankless water heater system along with all the electrical and venting. All items passed inspections on 1st visit.

Their knowledge and expertise and financing flexibility was 1st class! Their follow up customer care was Gold Standard.

I was so pleased with their 1st & 2nd job, I gave them a 3rd job for a 12K Mini Split heat pump on my ADU. They use top brands products like US made Carrier, backed by 10 & 12 year warranties and very honest service.

They were amazing to work with after so many headaches with other contractors on other jobs. Highly recommended!

I had Western out to replace my 44(!) year old HVAC system that finally gave out. The initial technician that came to troubleshoot the system, the consultant, and the actual installers were incredible -- knowledgeable, polite, and very transparent about what options would work for me. They treated my home with respect and explained all of the issues they ran into and did quality work.
The only reason for the 4 stars is that the front office coordination/communication was disappointing. My original service date was cancelled one business day before work was to begin because of delayed permitting, but this was not communicated to me until I called asking for an update.
Overall, I highly recommend Western to anyone who needs quality work done on their HVAC. They were fairly priced, did an excellent job, and are a gem of a business in Columbia County.

Wester Heating has provided excellent service for my 23 year old furnace. Michael spent more time doing more things to make sure the furnace was still working properly. I’ve also used their electrician and had a very good experience. This is a very fine company.

Excellent experience all around. From the service evaluation for our old system to the meeting with Francisco their comfort specialist to today's installation of a new Trane heat pump. I highly recommend this company for service and sales of heating and cooling solutions. We are very happy with the job. They really cleaned up too.

Corey, Jeremy and David worked quickly and had to do some trouble shooting when my house presented a problem. Corey knows his stuff.. The Peak electricians, Ivan and Mario worked swiftly and both groups were able to work around each other with ease. They're expertise made me relax. They cleaned up nicely when done, showed us how to work the remote,
and ran the equipment to ensure it was properly functioning. This group of professionals was awesome. Even the office helped me with my PUD rebate. The best experience......

A+. Everything from scheduling to consultation to install was incredibly professional and friendly. Randy came out and helped us pick out our new unit (we did the AC, too) - he was very knowledgeable and helpful. The install was scheduled for about a week later. The crew was right on time and did great work. Jeremy had to build out a custom solution to our existing duct work at the unit location and he did a great job. They left the site clean and walked me through how to care for the air filtration system.

We bought a new home and were worried about the state of the HVAC system, so we contacted Western to come take a look. Jacob was friendly and had a good attitude, explained everything politely and answered questions readily, and he did a great job getting our beat up old system in shape for the winter. He was fair and told us honestly about potential problems we could have coming up and options that Western could provide, but wasn't pushy or imposing about selling us stuff or scaring us into buying. I would highly recommend both the company and Jacob as a technician specifically.

Local small town provider that has really grown. Been using them for years to service our equipment. Really have taken good care of us. AC broke on Friday and that afternoon diagnosed and came to conclusion a full replacement of AC unit is needed. Sales pitch was a little much for me, we just don’t need a new furnace right now. By Tuesday morning they had a unit ready to install. Price was comparable but for us they’re local always been available to service when needed.

Amazing service! Ours was a pretty simple fix, as we just had an ice buildup on the pipe outside, which is what was causing our furnace to not work properly. However, after 3 other attempts to get someone out here to help us, WTC showed up on time and Michael B. Was very informative and polite. We definitely signed up for their yearly maintenance schedule!

We got top-notch advice about what equipment would meet our needs best, time from okaying the quote to installation was a very short turnaround, and the install crew were professional, solved unanticipated issues without fuss, and they finished early. I chose to work with Western Heating & Cooling after reading other reviews. They are exactly as portrayed. They were quick to respond, and on time to their appointments. Blake was very knowledgeable and listened to what our needs were. We ended up replacing both our furnace and AC unit, and were quickly scheduled to have the work done. The guys that came out were efficient and helpful, even going into our crawl space to reattach a duct that had fallen off. I highly recommend this company!
