I can’t say enough good about Joe. I hired him to build me a rolling gate for my backyard, and he built me a strong, beautiful gate that matched the rest of my fence. He showed up on time (a rarity in the business), and he was very responsive whenever I had questions or concerns. After the works was completed, he offered to followed up with me in case the wheels needed fine tuning. When I later reached out to him to take him up on his offer, he came by the same day (actually 20 minutes later). Oh, and his bid was competitive. I’ll definitely use him again.

I am a home owner on a budget and these guys where the best choice for me. If you want a honest upfront contractor for smaller jobs I would choose this company! Other contractors didn't want to work with my because want I was asking for was too small and time frame was too shot notice but Development Contracting LLC was able to help me out on a short notice. When problems came up they informed me immediately and solved them on the spot. I am going to use them for my next projects going forward.

Joe and his team transformed our kitchen and went above and beyond to make sure all of the last details were taken care of. They removed a wall and installed new cabinets, appliances, sink and fixtures. They worked magic on the walls and ceiling that were part of the demo (we can’t tell where the old ends and new begins!) and put up a beautiful new backsplash. They also installed new flooring and baseboards throughout our entire first floor. They involved us for all decisions but we often asked for their opinion and we were glad we listened to their expertise. We appreciated their attention to detail and thoroughness with every part of the process, including their estimate of timing and how they planned an scheduled work.

Most importantly, they are the kind of folks you want to invite into your home every day, which is not something I’ve ever experienced with contractors! They arrived when they said they would, were excellent communicators, worked hard and treated us and our space with the utmost respect. We enjoyed getting to know them and checking on progress. We would absolutely recommend NW Development Contracting and look forward to hopefully having them help us with other projects in the future!

I'm a property manager in SW Portland and have used Joe for several jobs on my 2 properties. He's hands down my favorite contractor. From full heavy turnover work in units (drywall repair/tub surround replacement/subfloor repair/door replacement/etc) to small odd jobs that have come up over the years, Joe was the go-to. I even had a side of a building that needed re-wrapped and re-sided after water intrusion. He told me he had never replaced siding on the whole side of a building before, but said he felt comfortable doing it. I trusted him because he has always been honest, fair with pricing and delivered excellent work. Well, the job turned out perfectly. If you didn't know it had been done you'd never even notice the repair, down to the last detail. And the price was very fair for the industry rates.

I couldn't possibly recommend him more highly. Great communication, very nice personality, honest, hard working and cares about the quality of what he does. If you need any contracting work done, this is the guy to call.

Had a fantastic experience working with Joe and NW Development Contracting. My complete bathroom remodel went so smoothly it was almost unbelievable. I had gotten bids from other contractors but when I was referred to Joe I knew right away his company would be the best fit. Communication was excellent, and timeline and cost estimates were spot on. Workmanship was high quality with great attention to detail. He showed up every day at the specified time and left everything cleaned up and organized for the next day. Not to mention he’s super chill, easy to work with and a great problem solver. Given these crazy times I went into my project expecting a nightmare. But instead I got a beautiful new bathroom with virtually ZERO hassle. I’m still pinching myself and wondering if it was all a dream? Joe and his crew made me feel very comfortable where as other Contractors I've used in the past made me feel very uncomfortable. They treated my home like a home instead of just another job. They did not try to sell me something I didn't ask for or didn't need. They even gave all my cost alternatives. The work they did was better quality then I expected. NW Development converted our garage door from two single-car doors into one large double-car door and the finished project is exactly what we were hoping for! We had a good experience working with Joseph and his team. A different company had removed our carpet and tile. Joseph's was able to fit us in on short notice to install laminate planks in our basement. They did good work. And took measures to limit dust and mess.

They did an amazing job with cleaning up a newly installed window, the drywall was really messed up, and they got it done beautifully. Also very communicative about expectations and even gave a few tips to help me in my on DIY projects in the house.
