They did a great job in renovating our very 80’s looking basement into a modern space. They even recommended moving a laundry wall and now we have way more space. I have recommended them to my real estate buyers and sellers. Thanks TGR!

TGR Construction does a top-notch high-end job. We are really pleased with their work and will definitely hire them again for future projects. Our neighbors used TGR to rebuild their decks and it came out looking stunningly beautiful and they told us that they had a very positive experience since the crew was easy to work with, responsive and organized. So we invited them over, created and edited drawings, and hired them to tear down the old decks and install 3 new ones. Since we live on a hill, we have one deck that is about 40' above the ground, another that is just 8' above the ground and the final one that is close to the ground. Dale really listened to us and to what we wanted. We redesigned all the decks, added safety gates, and used TimberTech Azek with a 50-year warranty. Since the upper deck is so high, we wanted to make sure the construction was earthquake safe and solid. Now that it's done, we are SO impressed with their work. It's beautiful. The deck is overbuilt, in a good way. They used large posts and beams. You can jump up and down on it and it is as sturdy as it could be. It is beautifully constructed, and we are very very happy with them. The crew is professional. They showed up every morning sharp at 8 am. Noel was the lead person and he was very skilled. Tony did all the communication, checking in daily to make sure it was happening according to plan and that all the details were going well. All the crew members were highly skilled and the job was done exactly as we hoped it would be. They worked through cold, snow, rain, and lots of mud. We have hired them for a second job already.

Had TGR at our house doing some extensive renovations for a few months, two bathrooms, two room conversions, huge roof, deck, combining another room etc.. everyone was great to communicate with, bids were straightforward and based on labor and prep materials leaving us to source our own finishes. They went out and picked everything up we needed, overall a long but smooth process, thanks guys!

TGR just put up a roof for me. Everyone I came in contact with was friendly, professional, and dedicated to giving me the best service. Their sale's rep followed the whole process. The roofers were extra hard workers and very friendly. I would work with them again.

The TGR ,was great to work with. Extremely happy with the speed in which they were able to respond for our job. Great communication ,from the office staff to the installers on site.
I look forward to working with them on my next project. -
TGR did a combination project for me. It was a french door replacement for a sliding glass door, a countertop installation repair, and installation of a new ducted range hood. It took a lot of back and forth to finalize, and I had a lot of questions, but Dale was very patient with me.
My partner and I both work from home, but still have to content with a lot of meetings. The crew was very flexible with us in installation day working around them.
I'm very happy with the outcome, all three parts were completed beautifully. -
TGR replaced our cedar shake roof and added a skylight. They were knowledgeable and competitively priced. Work was completed in timely matter, they cleaned up each day, and were quick to resolve any questions/concerns we had along the way. Will recommend and use them again in the future!

Just got my kitchen remodeled and they did a fantastic job. From day one the communication was great, they were very clean and mindful of my space, and finished on time. I would recommend TGR to all my friends looking to have work done around the house.

TGR construction is a legit company! Me and my partner have never had a roof replaced and had a couple of bad experiences with different companies before them. They were fast efficient and Did our roof! I would recommend everyone to contact them.

During a recent ice storm a frozen pipe burst in our house and flooded our finished lower level. We were away for the winter and were unaware of this until several days later when we were alerted to the flood. We called our insurance company who said they couldn’t even look at the damage for weeks. Fortunately, TGR General Construction was recommended to us. We’ve dealt with many contractors over the years, but calling TGR was one of the best decisions we’ve made. They came out right away and assessed the damage. They immediately began the process of drying out the walls and floors. They kept detailed records of their process. They met and dealt with our insurance claims adjuster. They billed the insurance company directly. And importantly, their work was amazing! They were highly competent and efficient. And the finished basement looks fantastic! Their communication was outstanding. We dealt with this whole thing remotely. They were in constant contact with us, both by phone and text. When we got home everything was perfect. The house had been cleaned, the furniture moved back, and the results were superb!
Bottom line, we cannot recommend TGR General Construction highly enough. Highly competent workers, excellent project manager and general contractor (Dale was absolutely the best), excellent communications, and the result exceeded our expectations. They made a very difficult situation so easy for us and we really appreciate their excellent work! -
I had a gutter that was recently damaged. I got TGR's number from a reliable source. Called them for a quote, I sent pictures of the repair needed. They had a respective quote and said they could be out the next day to repair. The quick response, timely repair and quality of work is impeccable. AJ’s professional approach to the repair and attention to detail is second to none. I HIGHLY recommend TGR General Construction.

Our experience with TGR was sub-par at best. The estimator did a great job on the sales pitch and the bid was very competitive especially since we wanted a new skylight put in. There were obvious (seemingly minor) issues with our roof and based on the advice of the project manager we did not address them. The tear off went fine and the shingle install went fine. Things went south once the crew got to the gutters. There were large gaps behind the gutters, they put up scratched/dented downspouts and the majority of the gutters did not drain completely. The project manager sent someone out to fix them when I asked him to come out personally and come up with a plan, that didn't fix it. The project managers boss came out and they were dismissive but understood the concerns and tried to fix them. Many of the fixes were patch jobs and don't look great. My roof doens't leak and my gutters finally drain, mostly. I am sure TGR has some great people working for them but this wasn't their A-team and the project manager was an absolute fail, never once showed up in person, with mutiple requests, and was a poor communicator over text.

We had a water leak from the heavy rain fall. TGR General Construction responded very quickly and were able to set-up an appointment with urgency. Their team completed the roof installation, roof repair and gutter installation quickly making sure to prevent any more water damage that can occur.
We will most definitely be reaching out to TGR General Construction for any projects and repairs in the future. Great staff and service! -
TGR executed a complete rebuild of a potters shed in our backyard…new roof, new siding, new windows, new door and door set. The job they did was excellent. The whole process went smoothly, with excellent communication with TGR throughout. They were well organized — estimator, project manager, on-site project lead — and did just what they said they would do, including change orders we requested. Timing was as communicated to us. The cleanup after the job was done was perfect as well. We highly recommend TGR for your own home projects.

The experience working with Dale and his company was incredibly disapointing.
After an extensive conversation, and the understanding that we were on the same page, work began. They started on the patio and that looked good.
But when they started on the fence alongside the house, there was one problem after another. The biggest issue is that even after extensive conversations about going around the trees, I came outside to find them hacking into the trees with an axe, to create dents to attach the fence to. This was not at all what we agreed to, and widely considered bad practice. Not only does it open up the tree to infection and possible death - but it’s bad for the fence, too! Trees grow, and will quickly bend fences out of shape. (And this was all after they'd hit one of the trees with a truck.)
When I brought this to Dale’s attention, he simply denied everything. Denied it was what we talked about, and denied that it was bad practice. He didn’t change his tune until I scheduled to have my (male) partner and a (male) arborist out to talk to him. Finally he admitted it was their mistake.
The fence was poorly made in other ways as well.
They used untreated nails, installed with a nail gun, instead of decking screws. These nails are now bleeding in the rain and leaving rust marks on the wood.
They intially installed gates on both sides of the yard incorrectly, which had to be fixed. On one side, they cut a huge chunk out of the neighbors fence to force an ill-fitting clasp to (barely) work, rather than getting appropriate hardware.
The gates for the front fence were also done wrong, and then swapped out, in a way that does not match in style. And as soon as the rain began, the gate has swollen so that it will not close at all.
On top of all of this, a large crew was coming and going 6 days a week, starting early in the morning, and being very loud and disruptive to my neighbors. They parked their cars in neighbors driveways, played ball in the street, and kept a radio playing loudly.
Other nusiances included their work truck breaking down and sitting in front of my house for a few days until a tow truck came for it, and their trailer and port-a-potty sitting in my driveway for two weeks after the work was complete. Not to mention leaving both construction mess and personal trash around the front and back yard.
By the end of this experience I simply could not wait to have them gone, even though it means having to pay additional money to new contractors to fix their shoddy work. -
TGR performed a re-roofing on my house. The team was very knowledgeable and explained the best value roof with the greatest longevity for my house. What I appreciated most were the honest explanations and pressure-free experience. The job was completed on time and within budget. I could not recommend these folks enough!

Don't waste your time or money! I hired TGR Construction to add a master suite to my daughter's home in Portland. Her realtor recommended them and she had never steered us wrong so I felt comfortable hiring them. We met in April 2024 to discuss plans and signed the contract. I was told the architect would have the plans done by mid-June and the addition would be complete by Labor Day. I guess it was my fault that I didn't ask which year!
The architect didn't submit the plans to the City until after Labor Day 2024. After all was approved, TGR began. The work schedule was never communicated to my daughter-workers just showed up whenever. Communication from the project manager was terrible. Work went on and on. Overall, the workmanship was fine though my daughter had to keep asking for problems to be fixed. Finally in July 2025, the addition passed the final inspection and my daughter was asked for final payment and was assured that the last few items on the punch list would be taken care of right away. My daughter paid what she was told and naturally heard nothing despite repeated attempts. I live in Chicago or I would have been after TGR from the beginning.
Fortunately or not, it turns out that we still owe TGR $2600-yes, the project manager couldn't even get the final amount owed correct. My daughter has been emphatic that she will not pay until everything is corrected--with the biggest item being that the back door was hung in the incorrect spot and cannot be opened wide enough to allow a larger person to exit properly. There are also numerous smaller items such as outer vent covers missing, gutters leaking, trim issues etc. While my daughter has been contacted a couple of times the issues are still outstanding. This simple bedroom addition is now going into it's 19th month with no end in sight. I have local contractors who are amazed at the incompetence shown by TGR. Absolutely cannot recommend them for any work. -
I hired TGR to do some emergency repairs to my house, which I'll review separately when they're done. I wanted to leave an interim review of their work to repair my roof. I knew my roof needed to be replaced, but I was hoping to put it off for another few years (this has been a very expensive "deferred maintenance" sort of year for me as a homeowner). But Martin with TGR pointed out things that I hadn't noticed about the roof's condition and gave me a reasonable quote for replacing the roof and several of the barge boards, which were rotten. I was really worried about having them do this work in November with a major storm bearing down on us at the end of the week. But they said that they could get the job done, and I believed them. In just 2 and a half days, they ripped off my old roof, installed the new one, re-installed my attic fan vent, and replaced my old metal roof vents with a new, ridgeline vent. I was shocked at how fast it went and how good it looks. I don't know if it's possible for a roof to be "beautiful," but this one is really sharp-looking. My neighbor even commented on how nice it looks! I also wanted to say that I have been very happy with TGR's customer service. More on this in the next review, but I was worried there was a leak, and I texted Martin at 10 pm last night. He asked some good questions to help me troubleshoot and offered to have someone out today to check it out. I feel like everyone at TGR I've worked with has been friendly, competent, and good listeners. I do not feel like they are a "get it done and abandon the customer" sort of company, like so many of these firms. Honestly, I've had to deal with so many contractors this year, and it's usually an exhausting proposition. TGR's team, on the other hand, has been easy to work with. I would use them again, and probably will for a series of planned projects in the next few years.

I hired TGR to build my deck and front patio cover in July 2025 and couldn’t be happier. The project was completed quickly, the quality of the work is great, and communication throughout was amazing Martin did a great job. The crew was also great and the foreman Leo was super knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend them to anybody looking to get a deck or a patio cover done!

TGR built me a new Trex deck after I discovered some rot in my old one. Jordan, their estimator, came out the same day I scheduled the appointment and went through all the options they offered. He was very thorough. Fast forward to a month later, the deck is now complete and I am really impressed with the results. Huge upgrade from the old one. I would definitely recommend them for deck projects, and they also do other exterior and interior work as well. Will be calling again when I’m ready to remodel my kitchen.

I had Jordan come out for a quote on my roof replacement after meeting with him I decided to hire TGR to replace my roof!
I’m glad to say, I feel like I made the right choice. They did a great job keeping the job site tidy at the end of every day and the project only took three days.
