I initially chose Restano Heating and Cooling based on their strong Google reviews and reputation for professional service. Michael Restano came out Wednesday afternoon to assess my boiler replacement needs. He was personable, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain boiler intricacies in detail during our 20-minute discussion. He followed up that same evening with a detailed estimate of approximately $8,800 for a Carrier boiler installation, which seemed reasonable compared to some of the other quotes I'd received. However, it was still not the cheapest estimate I received.

I called the office this morning to schedule the work. Carrie was helpful and transferred me to Mike Long (general manager). He informed me that the quoted Carrier boiler wasn't available, the original estimate was incorrect, and the actual cost would be closer to $15,000—nearly double the figure provided just hours earlier. I politely stopped the conversation there, as $15,000 was far outside the range of my other estimates ($4,200 higher than the most expensive estimate to be exact).

Almost immediately after, Michael Restano called me personally. I explained the massive discrepancy between his on-site estimate and what the general manager quoted. I told him I had been ready to move forward with Restano, but due to the near-doubling of the price, I was no longer interested.

The irony? Another reputable company is completing the exact same job for almost $6,500 less than the $15k dollar quote.

Michael Restano was a pleasure to work with—professional, insightful, and genuinely helpful. It's unfortunate that his efforts were completely undermined by poor internal coordination and what appeared to be a bait-and-switch on pricing. This experience eroded all trust in the company.

I cannot recommend Restano Heating and Cooling based on this interaction. Potential customers should get multiple written quotes in advance and confirm availability before investing time. It’s a shame, as Mr. Restano deserved better support from management.

EDIT: To their credit, the service manager reached out personally to apologize for how things were handled and expressed an interest in making it right (the same day this all occurred). I appreciate that level of accountability and the effort to follow up—it shows commitment to customer satisfaction.

That said, I had already moved forward and signed a contract with another company by the time they contacted me. While I won't be able to take them up on their offer to resolve the matter, I wanted to publicly recognize their professionalism in addressing the issue after the fact.

The HVAC technician Joe at Restano is excellent. He came to work on our furnace during the 0 degree snowstorm. He got it up and running asap. He was very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Big props to Joe. Couldn't be happier with our service.

Keith arrived a little early which I really appreciated. He did a thorough inspection of the furnace and changed the filter. He was very professional and friendly. He was careful about disturbing anything in my house and didn’t even mind my dog barking nonstop.

Jay resolved a line blockage and did a comprehensive evaluation of the house drainage system using an inspection camera. I appreciated his attention to detail. He was thorough, professional, and courteous. I have had good experience with Restano.

Tyler, who came to our home and assessed our old/broken furnace was so helpful and empathic to our situation - especially with a 6 month old just after Christmas; this was not a great time for not having heat (if there is one). After picking our new system and going over the details, Tyler told us that Will, Tim, and Josh would be there in an hour to come set everything up. The team was diligent and kind, even fixing several of the hookups to make our furnace both more efficient and properly connected. We are so glad we will be able to welcome 2026 warmly. Thanks yinz!

Restaño Heating, Cooling & Plumbing pretty much kept me from freezing to death the past 4 days. I called them when my furnace broke down and my kind neighbor referred me to the company. From the first phone conversation to the ultimate furnace installation and careful explanation of the new equipment, Restaño employees were outstandingly responsive and kind and diligent. I feel as if my rather significant household problem was shared by and managed by every Restaño employee with whom I interacted. I’m writing this while basking in the relief of my warm living room …. But also in the capability, diligence, and fairness of the company that came to my rescue.

We have used Restano a few times now. We’re always happy with their work and their prices. Today Aiden came to check out our furnace because it has been having intermittent problems. He was excellent! I particularly appreciated how clearly he explained everything. Thanks so much Aiden!

I cannot say enough nice things about William and the work he did today to fix a burst pipe caused by the cold. He went above and beyond to install a bleeder so it won't recur. Evan has also done plumbing at our house and they are both knowledgeable, explained everything and really care to get it right. Won't let anyone else touch my house, but them and Restano.

My furnace and AC were over 20 years old, and Restano has been there to maintain them over the years. When I decided to be proactive and replace both aging units, I knew exactly who to call. The entire experience was fantastic.

The price was reasonable and the installation was punctual and polite. They meticulously installed both units, tested everything to ensure a smooth operation, and answered all of my questions. The friendly service has made me a loyal customer for years. I recommend them to everyone!

We had an emergency maintenance call @ our 10 unit property yesterday evening. Our tenant reported concerns of the furnace not working properly. I called Restano Heating and to my surprise, a live representative answered immediately and dispatched a technician.

I had an excellent experience with Aiden, through his expertise and professionalism, he was able to promptly diagnose and repair the furnace at our tenant’s unit. Aiden is highly knowledgeable and took the time to clearly explain the issue and the repair process, which was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend Aiden for any HVAC service needs and commend Restano Heating for their outstanding service.

In addition to excellent service, Aiden was able to navigate through undesirable road conditions with a winter storm approaching. This young man had multiple challenges and it’s a pleasure to see his dedication and perseverance in his craft

Scott McCandrew inspected our steam furnace. He was very knowledgeable and reviewed in detail his suggestions to replace it and add a cooling ductless system to our home. We enjoyed meeting him and trust his advice.

Could not be more satisfied with maintenance of boiler! Nick was very professional and clearly knowledgeable about my boiler and entire HVAC. Took his time and made sure every component of the system was working. Made adjustments to boiler temperature, drained the expansion tank. Really did the job I was hoping for. His assistant Vonn was also professional and courteous. So happy I signed up as a customer.

I had the two Dave’s repair my bathroom sink. First, I would like to say I loved the texts and phone call I received giving me info about the Dave’s and arrival time. Within 24 hours Restano had their team out to troubleshoot a failing 1990s era furnace. Within 5 days, they had the replacement furnace in and running. Garret and Dylan arrived bright and early on Christmas Eve and were out the door within about 5 hours. Swift, professional, and very willing to answer our questions. We’ve had Restano out to the house several times over the past 10-15 years and have always been pleased with their response times and knowledgeable staff.

I needed to have service twice from Restano and the service technician Jake responded to my residence. He is extremely knowledgeable and very professional. Jake also repaired both issues. I extremely satisfied with the performance that Jake did he went above and beyond and treated me with the utmost courtesy and respect. I have recommended restano to a few of my coworkers.

This was our first time receiving a twice-yearly HVAC maintenance appointment at our new home, and Aidan was consummately professional. He pointed out a few idiosyncrasies of our system, what it should be doing instead of what it was actually doing, and offered to follow up with Restano HQ about our system's warranty to determine if we could cost-effectively get a particular part replaced that is running a bit hot during operation. Quantifiable data was shared transparently to demonstrate normal operation, advice was given about filter lifetimes and getting some components cleaned, accessible leaks in our ducts were sealed, and a dripping condensation pipe was glued correctly. We're grateful for Aidan's expertise, and I also enjoyed some meaningful conversations with him before and after the appointment. Restano has taken extraordinary care of us during this visit and two prior emergency calls, and we're looking forward to continuing our relationship with them for future visits. Thank you, Aidan!

We had a complex boiler replacement done in our home. Paul, Garrett and Mike were fantastic. They did a great job and really paid attention to every detail. I could not ask for better service. Highly recommended.

Jay was so helpful and professional. I figured out my issues with my plumbing right away, and had it handled within an hour. Would definitely recommend his services to anyone.

Jake Taylor and Brandon Caratello were at my home today. Jake installed new ground wires and Brandon came and assisted. They were both very polite and knowledgeable and explained everything they were doing. They got everything ready foran inspection. If I need electrical work done in the future I will be requesting theses guys. Also Jake will be here for the inspection wich makes me feel better. Also Mike was here Friday for furnace problems. He spent many hours trying to get this figured out. His Boss even showed up to assist. They got it taken care of after alot of head scratching. Both of these Mike's deserve Kudos 👏

Jay @ Restano was Great - he came within a hour of us calling in for after hours service! We had a sewer blockage. He called when he was on his way, and worked fast and efficiently to clear the clog, answered all of our questions, and made sure everything was draining properly before leaving.

Joe was fantastic. He serviced my furnace, made some recommendations, showed me pictures to support those recommendations, and was extremely pleasant to deal with. This is my first time using Restano and I will definitely be using them again in the spring for my AC! Joe also told me about all of the other services Restano offers (plumbing, electric, etc). Give Joe a raise!!!
