Rich did a great job. He was professional, polite and explained everything he was doing. He also got the job done quickly.

This is a very responsive and reasonable business. I highly recommend them. We called and needed quick service and Mark said he could take care of it right away. We don't usually need things done this fast but he was right there. A+

As someone who tries to avoid human contact and asking for help, a clogged shower drain created a lot of distress. I can’t stress enough how much I lucked out finding mark j puharic plumbing. They were incredibly helpful and professional. Fixed my clogged shower (yay!) and on top of all that I never once felt uncomfortable/stressed/distraught. I cannot recommend them enough. You won’t be disappointed.

My father needed a plumber fast, water was flooding his basement all Sunday afternoon and I went over to help. We contacted many of what people refer to as "fly-by-night" local business with no luck. Everyone says they "answer the phone 24/7" but that is not true as we had come to find out. The water was not taking the weekend off like the other plumbing companys in the New Kensington area so my dad and I googled a plumber. We called the main number for puharic plumbing hoping not to get the run-around, we held the line with our fingers crossed, next think we knew it was Mark. He did not waste our time, he told us he would be out later that day and there would be a charge that we were more than willing to pay. Sometimes you can purchase a little peace of mind, Mark and his guys saved the day for us and our leaking basement pipes. We wouldn't dream of calling anyone else, thanks so much you saved the day.

We had a clogged pipe. Mark sends out a plumber. The plumber rips apart several pieces of pipe (no clogs there) and then realizes the clog is underneath the floor. He proceeds to auger the drain and tells us that whatever is in there "ain't coming out."

He then gives us the following information.

1. We need to rip your basement floor up.
2. Your stationary tub is a goner. You are going to have to buy another one of those.
3. We won't know the extent of the clog until we incur around $2000 in costs to open up the floor and see what we can see.

He calls his boss. Boss gets on the phone and says not to worry and that his guys will be out the next morning first thing. I asked for a quote on the job but he couldn't provide one..... only a random looking "proposal" with a bunch of hourly rates. But there is a note saying that we should be ready to fork over $1800 or so to get the floor open.

I told him to give me a minute to think about all of this and I'll call him back.

Then I find out that I am being charged $280 for what was done thus far.

I decide to call another plumber to come and look at the basement to see if he could give me another bid on the basement dig. This plumber shows up the next day and says to me... "Before we talk digging up your basement... let me take a look at that clog." Within 5 minutes, and a nice blast of water, the clog was freed. I WAS ELATED! So I ask the plumber about the stationary tub and its need to be replaced. Guess what... the plumber fixed it with minimal parts and labor.

After all was said and done, I contacted Puharic to let them know that the clog was easily taken care of.... and if I didn't make another call I would immediately be $2000 in the hole. I provided pictures of the simple repairs that we're made and I kindly suggested that it might be in their best interest to not charge me the $280. ZERO REPLY. Next day... I'm charged $280... THREE TIMES. I am currently working with the credit card company to get this taken care of.

To wrap this up... I don't know what they were trying to pull off. They really wanted to bring in those jackhammers fast and get paid. I honestly feel that the unfixable clog was theater and drama to get us in a place of worry and they hoped to cash in on a quick decision.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Mark and his men did a great job. Everyone was friendly and helpful especially Mark. He made sure everything was done right and even took care of contacting and speaking with the gas company. I am so happy he took on the job for my building.

Mark fixed the water heater at our house in beginning of winter on one of the coldest days of the year! He explained everything he was doing very well! I felt very confident in his work and was very impressed with his knowledge. Highly recommend!!

charges $180 an hour and $90 fee just to to show up, that they dont tell you about up front. Charges $460 to fix a broken pipe! Most plumbers are crooks, but this takes the cake. Go with anyone else. Thinking about reporting to the BBB. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

In responding to the owner, why did it take TWO plumbers over TWO HOURS to fix a half inch split in the pipe. You are wrong, NO time estimate was given as your plumbers milked an easy job to steal money from me. Had the same issue at another residence and it took ONE plumber 20 minutes to fix. That is the difference between being paid by the job and the hour. That is the difference between an honest businessman And a crook. So your plumbers are either incompetent or just thieves. Or do you look for both traits when hiring?

Mark puharic plumbing was great professional upfront and honest with the plumbing problem, time it would take and most importantly upfront and potential cost of the job.

Puharic Plumbing is the best plumber that I’ve ever had. He is conscientious, hardworking and explains things in a clear and concise manner. He takes pride in his workmanship and does the job right the first time. I like his straightforwardness about what needs to be done. He knows the system and what it takes to do the job the right way. We (I am an officer for a condo homeowner association) recently engaged Mark Puharic plumbing to remedy a serious underground water leak.

They were able to localize the leak using some high tech devices. That was good, we have a lot of underground piping and not having to dig and hope for the best was great.

Once the bad piece of pipe was found it was replaced quickly. Our next 2 months of water bills bear out that the problem has been fixed.

Even with the good 'localization' of the leak, to accomplish this they did a lot (a lot) of digging. The crew who did this dug by hand and worked hard. This was through our recent wildly humid summer. But it is hard to feel like $90/hour is a good price for guys digging a hole. I know they are plumbers and have other skills, but that's a lot for when they are basically laborers. If I could change one thing it would be to have Puharic have a lower rate for unskilled labor when that is all that is required.

Not knowing what the problem would turn out to be, Puharic was not able to give us a firm quote. That was fine, they didn't know what they were getting into. Mark Puharic did give us a best guess ball park (and it was agreed all around that is was nothing more) and that was remarkably close. We appreciated that so we had some idea of what this was going to be like financially.

After the work was done his crew did a nice job restoring our landscaping.

Puharic bills on an occasional basis. If you want to monitor the cost of a fairly lengthy project I suggest you request weekly invoices.

We were happy with the work, would use Mark Puharic again and can recommend them.

Rich was our repairman today. He was very professional and solved the plumbing issue--toilet that kept running, tank kept refilling. All is in order! Responded same day and within a few hours. Appreciate Rich's expertise and friendly manner. We will definitely call Puharic Plumbing again and ask for Rich!

Professional, this crew came in well organized, with a plan. They worked quickly, finished quickly and left my basement cleaner than what it was. The work they did was beautiful and looked like it could appear on a home improvement show. They are honest and respectful and I would hire them again without hesitation!

I would have recommended them based on a previous experience when my pipe froze and one guy came did his job in a timely manner and because of that i had additional work done at the same time so they made a decent amount because of that plumber doing his job and not purposely padding hours. Last year when my pipe froze and they sent 2 guys for a one guy job but one was learning. They used a heat gun which I could have done for free but was told that was bad. The guy took more than one smoke/drink break and about 800.00 later my water still wasn't running and I was told they would have to come back because my house and outside was so cold. I let the faucet on and hours later a piece of plastic came out from the stupid shark bite a different plumber used on the shut off valves. Then I noticed my hot water shut off wouldn't stay open fully only to find I guess they melted the sharkbite so much my pipe connected to the shut off wobbles and won't stay open fully. There's no excuses for ripping people off especially when you see they definitely can't afford to be. Jobs done right and reasonable lead to referrals and good reviews. How hard is it to be a honest tradesmen? I shouldn't have to pay for a person learning or smoke drink breaks and no one should have to. Now I would never recommend them, I was trying to use a local business.
