We’ve called on a local Pittsburgh plumber twice now and both times have been fantastic experiences. The first time, I reached out through their website and got a quick reply and an appointment the same day. Joe, the plumber who came out, quickly found that the problem was small and even suggested my partner could fix it themselves or he could handle it for a fair price. That level of honesty really stood out. Joe took the time to explain exactly what was wrong and let us know we could contact them again if anything else came up. We recently needed plumbing help again, and once more, we were able to get an appointment within the week. It wasn’t an emergency, but Joe came, found the issue, explained what needed to be done, and took care of everything efficiently. He let us know the price up front, fixed the problem right away, and sent us the invoice by mail. Older homes in Pittsburgh, especially in areas like Brookline and the South Hills, can have unique plumbing challenges because of their age. This company really knows their way around these older systems, which makes us feel confident trusting them with our house. Joe is straightforward, honest, and does clean work at a reasonable price—exactly what you want in a plumber. As first-time homeowners, we’ve tried other plumbing companies and contractors, but this team is the best by far. Their pricing is fair, and they genuinely want to help and educate you along the way. We’re definitely customers for life!

Professional and quality work. Had plumbing for a washer hook up installed and Keith was great. He had to wait for another contractor to finish a part of the project before he could complete his work. He came back as soon as I told him that was completed. Prompt and good communication in the office. Would definitely use again.

Fast service and good work, but they only take PAPER checks for payment. They said I could write a check or my bank could mail one. Highly inconvenient in 2025 and frustrating for those who no longer have check books. It’s 2025 and I implore this place to start taking any form of electronic payment.

When the plumber came to look at the problems we were having he said they would be in touch with a quote for the work. I had a conversation with him because we have polished brass fixtures and lighting in the bathroom. I told him I understood that brass or gold color is rare now but it would be ok to install something in the gold family, brushed or polished. I even told him that if he couldn’t find the fixtures that I saw some online to order from Home Depot or Lowe’s and to tell me what was needed and I would order it. Our fault we didn’t get anything in writing. Knechtel has good reviews and was recommended on a few neighborhood Facebook pages so not having anything in writing didn’t concern me too much. Someone called to set an appointment to do the work about 2 weeks after the consultation. I assumed they were able to get gold and the price of the work would be reasonable. Both of those assumptions turned out to be wrong. I almost told them to wait until I could get brass but we had been without the shower for several weeks and I didn’t want to wait. Very unhappy with their price and the chrome fixtures. The work took about 7-8 hours for one plumber, not the same who had come to see the problem.
UPDATE: the caulk they put around the shower now has a spot where it’s pulled away from both parts of the shower structure.
