If you need HVAC repairs, look no further than Salmon and Sons. Joe, the owner acts as if the customer is his family member who he wants to receive the best service. When our heat wasn't working after I returned from a trip, I was frustrated with my system and worried about finding someone I could trust to fix it at a reasonable cost. Joe helped me get my heat working after an 8pm emergency call - he was kind, cheerful, and patient in explaining the issue and the solution. I can't recommend him enough, and will be calling for my future maintenance and eventual system replacement!

Joey and Randy (Joe) came to our rescue when we needed a completely new HVAC system. Not only is this company the best HVAC company I've worked with, but the best company I've worked with in general when it comes to contractors. Joey is one of the kindest people I have ever met, and I've never felt so genuinely looked out for by a hired contractor. It's very apparent they take pride in their work without cutting corners or taking the easy route, which in my experience has been almost impossible to find these days. They have won our business for life, and I look forward to seeing them prosper.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Salmon & Sons HVAC, and I couldn't be happier with the service Joseph provided. From start to finish, Joseph was nothing short of excellent. Not only was he incredibly informative, patiently explaining every aspect of the HVAC system to me, but he was also extremely reliable, showing up exactly when he said he would and completing the job efficiently. What truly set him apart, though, was his personable nature. Joseph didn't just treat me like another customer; he took the time to establish a genuine connection, making the entire experience not only stress-free but also enjoyable. I highly recommend Salmon & Sons HVAC to anyone in need of HVAC services. They're the epitome of professionalism and quality service.

Joseph was one of the few guys in town who was able to come out the day I had a problem and he did an excellent job taking apart all of my hvac units and finding the problem after a power surge. Even crawled under my house and fixed my water heater too. Super friendly service and gave a very fair price.

Joey was extremely kind and knowledgeable- he fixed my AC in no time and got to me so quickly ! He explained everything he was doing and gave me tips on how to continue to care for my unit. He is the best. A million stars ⭐️!!

Joey is my neighbor. So if he treated me this way he will treat anyone this way. I had an AC that was not cooling as it should have, it used to get down to my desired temperature within 2 hours. He came and looked at it and said it was the capacitor. He charge me $185 to fix it. It worked for a day and then went back to still cooling but not reaching the temperature I wanted. He came back and said oh it's just the machine slowing down it has about a year to go, and you should replace it now because next year prices are going up. I agreed to have it replaced with a new one. I did a cash discount so it was cheaper it was the SAME size AC as the one I had which I had no problems with for years until it started not cooling . Then on the day of install, I told him I had second thoughts and wanted to wait until the unit I have dies. He said they already had my new one ready, I was getting a good price on it etc and again pushed me to buy it now bc prices were increasing the next year.he pushed me into it and agreed to follow as planned. I was also leaving town that day didn't want them at the house working after I left. But I said it had to be completed before I left town. Then he called me and said the AC was not ready. So after he pushed me into Bc it was not ready , it wasn't. He ended up finding an AC unit and replaced it but it was not done before I left so I never was able to see it completed. I told Joey I would pay him when returned from my trip. He then pushed me to pay with an additional cash discount. He's my neighbor so he wouldn't screw me right? So I paid. Then I get back from my trip and the AC has never gotten below 67 degrees. It takes HOURS to reduce a few degrees and this is supposed to be a top of the line product and the same size as the one I had before. He assured me that it would get down to the degree I wanted and I would have no problems. I paid about 9k for an AC unit that does not get below 67 degrees. the same issue I had with my previous AC. Every time I have seen Joey he always complains about money problems, and has promised to come back and look at my unit to figure out if something else is wrong. He has stood me up about 10 times he would come back and look at it. He came by once and looked in the basement and noticed a duct was crushed up but didn't fix it and I have no other explanation to why this AC unit will not go below 65 and works exactly the same way the other did. He keeps saying he will come back but always has an excuse to why he won't. Or just is a complete NO SHOW. When I complained about the AC unit not going below 67 he always has an excuse. "well most people don't want their unit to go below 67, most people keep it around 70". Which is BS, an AC unit should have no problem going below 67! To be honest I'm not even sure what I got was what I paid for, I was not here when the project was completed. Joey pushed me to buy this, never finished the project when he said he would, said this unit would work better than my last and get down to 65/64 which it doesn't. and now I have an AC Unit and am out 9K that works exactly like the last. He's also delayed coming back that I think the warranty to send this unit back has expired while I wait on him. Don't hire Joey to fix your AC unless you want to get swindled and get an AC that won't go below 67.

It's hard to spend a bunch of money on HVAC repairs and write a review but here goes. The owner Joseph Salmon showed up to my house today with less than a 24 hour response time after calling. He diagnosed and FIXED all my issues on a unit that I had failed to maintain for 8 years. I was referred to him by Lori Cloud my awesome realtor friend. Joseph was top notch on knowledge of the the unit in question and went far and beyond my expectations. Even cleaning the other unit since it was right next to it. Joseph! You won me over on this repair and have a new customer. Thank you for the great work. I feel confident with your work and will not hesitate to work with you again. Jay

I woke up this morning and our A/C was out. If you live in TN you know, July with no AC is a crisis. The inside temp went to 90 from nothing, no pun intended. I called all I could reach in a 5 mile radius and , after 6 others, I found Mr. Joey Salmon.
Joey is a business owner who takes pride in his business and service. I didn’t reach AI, or a Franklin call center, I was instantly in touch with the owner and had his assurances that we’d be addressed today. I know he worked late on a Friday to make sure we were taken care of and really appreciate the level of attention and professionalism he displayed.

Thanks for helping us bud, so appreciated!

I really appreciate this company! We were having HVAC issues on an extremely cold Sunday, and even when they weren’t available to come visit, they worked with me via FaceTime to help me trouble shoot the issues remotely. It was very generous and appreciated!

We had a great experience with Joey. He was very knowledgeable, took the time to explain our new system to us, and that was AFTER working outside and in our hot crawlspace all day with his crew. Great workmanship, and everything looks tidy and clean. Thanks Guys!

I was referred to Joseph, the owner of Salmon and Sons, by a friend of mine from the East Nashville YMCA. I had done my research and gotten estimates. Joseph had a fair price and had the knowledge of my electric/gas combo system. He and his crew got my unit installed and hauled the old one away. I got a fantastic warranty - 10 years on parts, 2 years on labor and lifetime warranty on the heat exchanger. My unit sits up off the ground and this was no issue for Joseph. He put in a new electrical box, new gas line, new flashing, and sanded and painted the stand it sits on. I feel like I got a great deal from a reputable man. I highly recommend Salmon and Sons.

After our old gas furnace (25+yr) quit working, a friend referred this feller that worked for Salmon and Sons HVAC. He and Joseph Salmon, company owner, evaluated the situation and determined a new unit was needed. 2 days later, Mr. Joey, Eric, and Joe, Salmon & Sons crew, came to do the job. We live in an older house with a low crawl space, but them guys scooted and snaked around in that dust, dirt, and old insulation getting the job done. Continued working with no breaks till task was complete. "Mr. Joey" is a true professional, explaining everything they were doing and about the equipment. He talked to you like "family" or an old friend. All the crew were knowledgeable and professional. We now have good heat and AC...the wife is tickled to death. We will have them doing the yearly maintenance checks. 😃💜👍

Team Air Distributing is a phenomenal company! This is the second time they have jumped into action to save the day on parts we were needing. THANK YOU, Doug "Superman" Spencer & Crew!!! ;0) You guys are amazing & have a BIG fan down in Jackson, TN! - Christi Bartlett, Cagle Service, LLC

Minimum 5 Hours to get unloaded. If you can cancel your load it’s not worth it to be here.

Updated Review: Major Headaches, Partial Redemption — Be Cautious With American Standard and Team Air

I previously warned about my frustrating experience with American Standard and Team Air, and I want to update the review to reflect the full picture now that the situation is (finally) resolved.

    The Problem
In 2022, I purchased an American Standard HVAC system through Smith’s Quality Heating & Cooling. Within 24 months, the unit suffered:

    Two failed compressors

A frozen heat pump due to a leaking coil

    Four warranty claims

    Persistent performance problems

The most recent compressor replacement (installed June 3, 2025) failed within 5 days. Clearly, I was sold a defective unit—but instead of owning the issue, American Standard hid behind their warranty, providing no real accountability or urgency.

    Who Did What
Smith’s Quality Heating & Cooling was not the problem. They're a small company that genuinely tried to help:

They absorbed the labor and refrigerant costs each time repairs were needed.

They performed the warranty repairs even though the repeated failures were out of their control.

They were ultimately left in the lurch by Team Air, the distributor responsible for regional warranty support.

Team Air, on the other hand, shifted blame instead of taking ownership. When the second replacement compressor failed, they claimed an electrical inspection was needed (despite no evidence of such a problem). I provided that inspection, proving there was no issue—and still, I was met with stonewalling.

    Resolution — Thanks to Trevor
What finally turned things around was Trevor from Team Air. He stepped in when no one else would:

He worked directly with American Standard.

He was responsive, professional, and took ownership where others didn’t.

He helped coordinate the new equipment so a new HVAC professional could properly install it.

Thanks to Trevor's efforts and the new installer, I now have a functioning, system.
