I have had Davey out to do 2 jobs today n the last couple months. They handled both jobs with ease and efficiently. Have several more jobs and will definitely call Davey again!!

We used Davey a few years back and experienced excellent service, so we were very disappointed when our most recent experience was completely ridiculous. We have several trees that needed some trimming. After multiple calls, we finally got someone out to look at the tree(s). Then almost a month went by before we were able to finally beg someone to put us on the schedule. Then, when they finally arrived to work on the tree, the crew didn't have the equipment necessary for the job. They said they would be back in a few days, and they just literally never showed back up. We have obviously gone with another company, but to say we are disappointed is an understatement.

Used Davey Tree for our HOA and really enjoyed their service, so I used them to removed a few trees on my property. It took two months for them to finally come cut the trees after multiple phone calls. Still waiting on them to return and grind the stumps and plant the new tree. I have called them multiple times and no one will return my call. Lady said he was out looking at storm damage, so they have time to take on new business, but no time to finish the jobs they already have pending.

We had to have a lot of work done. I wasn't sure where to start. Ricky, the arborist, was extremely helpful and great to work with. We had Ash trees injected, trees removed, and trees pruned. They will be my first call next time I need tree work done.

We are not happy with the service. Your tree Trimmers were EXCELLENT but the managing of the project was POOR. Poor communications from the supervisor not getting back to us. We are still waiting for an answer from your company that was asked 2 weeks ago. Your company left a large pile of grindings from a stump removal that we are not happy about and your tree trimmers questioned the leaving of the pile to supervisor.

Duane and Camron did a great job removing may Very large Arborvitae and root balls which they have to hand dig due to the VERY limited space to work. They also left the space cleaned up after completion.

Davey Tree was very responsive when we had a tree fall on our house after a storm. They did such great work for us, that we are using them to trim the deadwood off our trees, and remove a handful of others that are not safe near our home. They actually care about saving the remaining trees in our yard, giving us insight and recommendations on how to keep our mature trees looking beautiful and thriving. They are always polite and have given us extremely fair estimates on the work we want completed. I highly recommend them!

Davey Tree does an excellent job. Jason and Scott are very thorough and knowledgeable. Kristy in their office is very responsive and efficient. Highly recommend this team !

To say the least we have been incredibly amazed at the level of professionalism and efficiency of Davey Tree Surgeons! Unfortunately we had a huge tree hit our house yesterday after a huge storm came through. We called Davey this morning and they got here the same day. Their crew was very mannerly and knowledgeable. They answered our questions in a most professional way. They cleaned up extremely well down to the last leaf, believe or not. After 7 hours here on the job they were still eager to make sure we were happy! What can you say...we are impressed! And my wife and I rarely, very rarely, post reviews on anything! Thanks Davey for a job well done!

Large branch came down off a neighbor's tree, and the rest of the tree was rotten. Called several arborists, Davey was the only one that responded. A rep showed up when promised, provided a very reasonable estimate, warned us they were booked for about 6 weeks. Work crew showed up 6 weeks later. Work required a crane, which was expertly handled. Tree removal was completed carefully and safely, a pleasure to watch an experienced crew at work. Work completed quickly, cleanup very through, job well done.

Davey Tree came highly recommended by my trusted Realtor. I have a rental property in South Nashville and needed a large maple tree in my front yard fertilized and several large/tall dead branches removed. Set an appointment for them to come take a look. The guy arrived on time, seemed knowledgeable, worked out what needed to be done, said he'd send me a proposal that evening, and that I'd be on the schedule in a few weeks. All seemed professional and going well.

He never reached back out. I followed up a few days later via email and no response either. Unfortunately, in today's world full of unreliable contractors, you often get ghosted, ignored, and forgotten about. This wasn't a HUGE job per se, but definitely several hundreds dollars or more worth of work.

Too many companies like these out there that get away with poor service. I choose to have my business earned by a company who respects my time and needs.

Update - Response from the owner was "The feedback is appreciated. A manager will look into this for you." Nobody 'looked into it.' Nobody reached out or tried to remedy the situation. Wouldn't have used them anyway. Add these guys to the never-ending list of frustrating contractors.

I have been a Davey client for many, many years. The first time I had Davey perform work, it was just for a small tree removal. Over the years I have let them take over more and more of my landscaping/lawn needs. Today, they take care of everything outside my house, with the exception of mowing my lawn, removing leaves in fall and spreading mulch. I have fallen in love with their dependable service, EXTREMELY knowledgeable sales reps and crew. I have had a lot of tree companies do work for me, and none of the crews compare to the expertise and experience of a Davey Tree crew. The couple of times I had small issues with my service or billing, they were quick to resolve the issues. They even held my bill until I was completely satisfied! Not many other companies would do that for you! I would recommend this company to anyone needing tree, landscaping and/or lawn work done. They're sales staff is top notch in customer relations and expertise and their crews leave your property as if they were never there...spotless!! I will ALWAYS be a Davey client! Thanks to all of the Nashville Davey Team, you guys rock! 5 stars!!!!

They came out quickly, assessed my trees and carefully explained everything. Gave me suggestions and was completely honest. I will definitely use them again should I have any issues in the future.

We hired Davey to prune and cable a large willow that is very special to our family. Camron amd Steve did an outstanding job and still maintained the natural beauty of the tree. They were also very friendly and clearly communicated everything they were going to do, and then followed up after the work was completed to ensure it met our expectations. I’m confident we’ll be using Davey again to maintain the life of our beautiful willow.

Have used Davey Tree several times in past and have been extremely pleased with the punctual service, the knowledge of the workers and the work performed. So when we decided to remove 3 trees and prune the rest of the trees on our property, we got an estimate from Davey Tree. It took well over a month from the initial estimate to get onto the schedule. When they arrived, they told us the stump grinding was scheduled and billed separately, which was not our experience in the past times we have used them. We have been waiting for well over a month now to get on the schedule for the stump grinding. No one has ever contacted us about either scheduling or issues with scheduling, which you would expect as a customer. So we have reached out a couple of times. Each time we call, they remind us that it indicated it would be billed and scheduled separately and/or that there are issues with their equipment. While I realize that issues can arise, the lack of taking the initiative to contact us is very poor customer service. And seems like we are not the only ones with this issue based on reviews.

In addition, the first storm we had after the pruning, we lost 3 significant branches from a tree which had just been pruned. That was never our experience in the past.

Update: Davey came out today to grind the stumps but left a huge mess and damage to my yard. They never cleaned up chips as they did previously and was just spreading them out on my newly planted grass. When I questioned why they were doing that and not cleaning up, he told me it wasn’t on his list to do that.

Long story short: Do not go with Davey as they obviously do not have same level of customer service nor the same quality of work as in the past!

My initial contact, Scott Johnson was great. Explained what needed to be done and got it scheduled. The crew that performed the task was efficient. They cleaned up area after tree was removed. Highly recommend Davey Tree.

They quoted us for work to be done on three trees. They came and tried to leave after only doing one, did a second one after we repeatedly showed them evidence (the quote sent over and emails) that they were supposed to do three and then they didn’t do the third. Their sales people do not coordinate at all with the people actually doing the work. They then tried charging us for all three trees. We spent MONTHS trying to get ahold of them and they finally got back to us after 5 months and came to do the third tree and then sent us to collections immediately (after specifically saying they would not because they admitted they were wrong on their end). Their customer service is severely lacking and we would not recommend working with this company. We are currently debating reporting them to the BBB and would implore others mistreated by the company to do the same.

UPDATE: They reached out. They were shocked this happened because the manager said it would have had to come from him, however we showed him the letter and he apologized profusely and offered us a partial refund.

What an excellent company! The tree we had removed was right beside our house and posed a problem if we had a serious storm. Davey Tree removed it in sections with no damage to my garden or house. And the crew cleaned up all the bits of wood and debris! We were more than pleased.
We would recommend this company to anyone. They were efficient, professional, on time and a pleasure to work with. You won't regret using Davey Tree!

The team from Davey (Santos, Salvador, Christian, and Richard) was incredibly skillful at placing ropes and pulleys to precisely lower large tree sections cut by either Santos or Salvador working from either the bucket or tree itself. The difficulty level of removing my 5 sixty ft. trees was high so much so that several other companies declined the work. The trees were sandwiched between a shed (1 ft. away) and a 3 story house with large glass windows (10 ft. away). My TPO roof and wood fence were underneath the tree canopy. I watched the entire 6 hour process and they NEVER touched any of the structures with the tree branches. The communication between the arborists and the ground crew was professional and precise and the ground crew did a thorough job with debris clean up. They didn't rush and the 2 arborists took the time to confer on multiple occasions regarding rope and cut placement. Watching the arborists work up in the trees was mesmerizing. It rained the entire time they were on site. The quote was very fair and their manager, Lukas, maintained an excellent line of communication with us and was easily reached when we had a request on site not outlined in the quote. These guys are now my go to team for any and all tree work.

Randy,Cameron and Duane Removing Silver Maple in my front and back yard. They worked as a team and did an amazing job cleaned up all the brush and raked up the small pieces. Randy came back Friday and grounded up stumps below the top of ground and cut the remaining roots that branched off the tree.

Stephen and Cam did a great job with cutting our tree down! There was a power line nearby, tree hanging over our building, and a busy driveway the tree had to land on. They navigated those obstacles with ease and had zero problems!! Really appreciate their quick work and cleanup of the site once finished. Thanks so much & will definitely use for any future tree service needs!
