Brett and his team have taken care of my pool and equipment for four years (and counting) and I have been nothing but pleased with every service and interaction with every member of his team. He is reliable and trustworthy and I would recommend him to anyone looking for work on their pool or remodeling.

Brett has always been very helpful when we have a maintenance issue or pesky algae appear. His team is very prompt, makes sure the job is well done and answers any questions you have about the problem. Appreciate all their help and advice to make sure our pool is clean and in good condition year round.

Wanted to share my experience with this pool company after a recent pool remodel. I decided to go with Southern Pool & Outdoors because I felt he wasn’t trying to oversell me on stuff and I thought his price was real competitive. After putting the 10% down, about 5-6 weeks later the project began. The owner subcontracted the work out. I was impressed how quickly the tile, coping and replaster took. I saw the owner, Brett twice during the process – he stopped by during the tile and coping work and then after the pool was filled and aftercare completed to get the final payment. I had to do a lot of clean-up in and around the pool once completed because of the construction. This included removing large clumps of dry mortar around my skimmer opening. I wasn’t pleased with all the mortar left behind from the tile and coping people. Felt like it was a bit sloppy. I also didn’t complain about the tile and coping crew running over one of my landscaping lights. I cleaned up the mortar the best I could and then reached out to Brett asking if he could have someone clean up the dried up mortar in exposed areas of the coping? He didn’t respond and I had to follow up. Before he sent his guy out, I also sent him a picture of some plaster in the hot-tub that felt a little rough and asked if his guy could look at it when he came out. I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t recede any further as it was right at the ledge of a seat. His guy came out and chipped away some of the excess mortar with a screwdriver. While there are still spots that you can see, it will do. After we finally were able to get into the pool, we noticed some grout/mortar missing in a few areas. Although minor, I reached out to Brett and shared that we were enjoying the new pool and asked about some spot touch-ups for the area lacking grout/mortar. Brett did not respond and I followed up several days later. His response implied that I was looking for perfection and getting the perfect amount of grout is not easy. He ended with, “this will be our last punch list item covered and any additional requests will be charged separately as repairs.” He later added, “making unlimited trips over and unlimited amount of time does not work.” I was very disappointed with his responses and question him standing behind his workmanship and warranty. We’ve never asked for “unlimited trips.” We’ve merely reached out and have questioned in a professional manner some of the quality of work and just want a product that looks good and will last. David has been our service provider for about six months and has excellent maintenance for our pool. I would recommend him to anyone looking for pool service provider.

I’ve used several companies over the years, and this is by far the best one. David is very knowledgeable and always responds quickly to any questions I have. He doesn’t just do the work—he also takes the time to explain what he’s doing and show me how to handle simple issues myself if they come up again. Very professional and impressive service. Highly recommended.

We love how Alex pays extra attention to our pool. Our Polaris hose keeps getting tangled and Alex always takes the time to straighten it out. Our pool looks great!

David is awesome! He does a great job on our pool and always sends texts when he is on his way so we can put our dogs inside and they don’t get out.

We had a complete backyard overhaul from Southern Pools + Outdoors. They put up a patio cover, extended our pool deck, put a deck overlay on all the decking, put new coping, title and plaster in our pool. In addition, they redesigned our pool by making a tanning ledge and reduced the depth of our pool. We could not be happier with the results! Brett and his team were great to work with and would happily refer anyone to him.

I had some stone work needed around my pool/spa area. I called and Brett came out to check it out. He was very helpful and set up his masonry crew to come do the job at what I thought was a very reasonable price. I have to say I am probably more picky than most customers and I couldn’t be more happy with the work they did. I explained what I wanted and you can’t believe how hard these guys worked. Not only was the work really good, they don’t mess around… it was done quick. You can’t tell but I had several stones replaced on the right side of my spa that were crumbling. I’m glad I called Southern Pool & outdoors. They are local to me and they exceeded my expectations in not only the work, but Brett was great in communicating with me and that’s important. I highly recommend them if you need anything.

David is a great person. He is always on time and leaves our pool sparkling and clean. He also keep me informed on any repairs that may need to be fixed.

First of all, Sabrina, at the office was very cordial, helpful, and in providing a timeframe of the work I needed as well as, an estimated cost of the work to be done. Secondly, the Lead Technician, Ty… was punctual, friendly, approachable, and skilled/knowledgeable about the work that I needed done, in regards to, my pool. Ty also agreed to follow up tomorrow to make sure the work he did was satisfactory. He is an asset to your company. Great job… I highly recommend this company for any pool needs!

Tom and his crew led by Omar provided an incredible service from start to finish. My wife and I were dreading the cost and hassle of getting our homes foundation repaired. We called five different companies and had each of them provide a free estimate.

Company one came in and told us we needed 40 piers around the entire house at a cost of $18,500. Company two came in and said the movement in our house scared him and he didn’t even quote us. Companies three and four were just as pricey as company one.

Enter Tom Dodson and Dodson Foundation Repair. He came recommended by a friend and won me over with his integrity and heart to educate. He accurately diagnosed our foundation and within two weeks, 12 piers and a savings of multiple thousands of dollars, our house is again on solid footing. I recently noticed some cracks in the walls of my home. So I scheduled several foundation companies to come out, evaluate my foundation and provide me with estimates for any work. Tom Dodson, the owner of Dodson Foundation Repair, was my second appointment of the day. Within 5 minutes of stepping inside, Tom told me that based upon his many years of experience, he was able to tell immediately that there was no work that he would recommend at this time. While this may seem a little presumptuous, let me add that when I first contacted Dodson Foundation Repair to schedule the appointment, Tom spent a good deal of time with me on the phone. During that conversation, he tried to educate me on things to look for and questions to ask of the various foundation companies which I had an interest working with. From that conversation, I formed the impression that Tom is an honest and ethical businessman who is genuinely interested to helping people (not just as customers). Additionally, the appointment prior to Tom's, that company performed their assessment and was not recommending any foundation work either. Surprisingly, after Tom told me he didn't think I need foundation work and I told him that that was also the conclusion the other foundation company, Tom asked to me to do the courteous thing and cancel the other appointments I had scheduled for the rest of the day. He suggested that I would be freeing up those other appointments, so that those other companies could potentially help people who might actually need foundation work. Honestly, I just thought that was a really cool mindset to take. So if and when I do need foundation work done, Dodson Foundation Repair will be one of the first companies I call.

Tom arrived at appointed time and was very friendly. He did a thorough review including measurements. He took the time to answer my questions about the things I was seeing. He was honest enough to let me know I didn't need foundation repair at this time. He pointed out a tree that might become a concern down the road. No charge for his visit.

I've been experiencing what I thought was foundation problems. Note: I did have some work done in 2016 & 2017. The company which had done my previous work wanted to come into my home and dig up the floor in a couple of places. Tom Dodson came out, did a complete inspection, and determined that my foundation is just fine and what I was experiencing was a crown problem, due to our wonderful Texas soils. Well bottom line, he saved me and additional $3000 in unnecessary repairs. I offered to pay him for his evaluation and time and he refused any type of compensation.
