Better Service representatives are very knowledgeable and willing to go out of their way to help with our (business) dryer issues. We originally had a problem with the dryer overheating. They inspected, went on the roof and gave us the solution and fixed the problem. I highly recommend them.

I appreciated James Garcia's professional and kind demeanor. (Not sure if he is owner or manager.) He was able to squeeze me in on a hot day for end-of-the-week service request, when other companies weren't available or I didn't like their practices when I called for a quote. I got to speak directly to him, explain my concerns, and he talked through the situation with me and possible ways to address it in a clear way. Our A/C had been progressively not cooling for well over a couple of weeks. I asked for a cleaning of our outside unit and he sent Joey to check things out. Long story short, the outside unit was cleaned, tested, and some "leak stop" was added to address a leak. Joey returned a couple of days later to see if he could identify the source of the leak, but the "leak stop" he had put in had done its job. No guarantee that this is a permanent fix for years to come, but that was made transparent by both James and Joey. I felt informed along the way in a stressful time. Also, I rent my home, and James did a good job of handling working with my landlord for payment of services rendered, which greatly alleviated my stress. Finally, James reduced the price for overall services when the cost wasn't necessitated for the service. I think it went from $750 to $500. I felt comfortable as a woman alone in the house with his employee, Joey, which is very important to me. Joey was professional, mindful, and respectful, and shared his best recommendations with me in a way I could understand, and also showed empathy, which is a great professional skill! I would highly recommend this company, because I think they are honest, professional, respectful, responsive, and are trying to do a good day's work and serve their customers to the best of their ability. Thank you, Better Service Co. for keeping me cool on these atrociously hot days that came right after service!

These guys are awesome. James serviced our A/C and installed an in-duct air purifier system. He was on-time, every time -- and a total pleasure to have in our home. He explained everything he was doing, and made sure everything was perfect, before he cleaned up and left our home looking like nobody had even been there to do maintenance. Jordan and his crew installed a new gutter system for the front of our house, and it has made a huge difference every time it rains. Gavin serviced and cleaned our chimneys. Everyone on their crew is super friendly and made sure we were happy with everything before wrapping up their jobs. These guys all know what's up -- they're friendly and offer great work at reasonable prices. Will absolutely call them in the future if I have any service needs.

James and Jordan were both extremely knowledgeable, professional, honest, and helpful with an unusual dryer vent situation I had. They really went out of their way to help at no additional cost to me - I've never seen a service company go as far above and beyond as they did. Highly recommend!

Because our dryer duct is more than 50’ to the outside we have it cleaned annually. Very professional technician, Hector Acosta, was thorough and efficient. We’ll ask for him again next year.

This was the best thing I've done for my house ever. My HVAC unit faltered and died during the heat wave this past September and couldn't be resurrected, so I contracted with Better Service to replace it using the City of Austin's Home Performance with Energy Star program that offers rebates for high efficiency equipment.
I opted for a Mitsubishi high efficiency heat pump system and a substantial upgrade in the attic insulation. It works beautifully, and the system is remarkably quiet in operation. The temperature is well-maintained without the air blowing forcefully through the vents, so the system operation is almost unnoticeable. In this time of changing weather, I am happy to say that the heating, the air conditioning, and the new insulation all do their jobs very well.
As for the Better Service crew: Jordan and his entire crew were fully trustworthy and helpful, and respectful of my work-and-zoom-from-home requirements, and though the work involved moving throughout the house to replace vents and ductwork, they allowed me to keep my schedule with no interference. Plus, they kept to their own schedule and communicated clearly what was going to happen and when.
Overall, I am happy with my new system and would recommend Better Service Co. with no reservations. Good job!

I needed to have my dryer vent cleaned and I couldn’t have asked for better service! They provided me recommendations that were easier to understand and what I needed for my situation. Additionally, they cleaned up the dryer vent area that looked like very messy installation and made it attractive and functional. Working with them was easy!

Better Service has been helping us with HVAC, dryer vent cleaning, and handyman services for several years. They installed a Mitsubishi mini-split which has made a big difference in our comfort for sleeping. They are responsive, highly trained, and fairly priced. I recommend them highly!

I’ve worked with Better Service Co. for a very tedious dryer vent reconstruction project, and most recently for HVAC servicing at my home. Joey was awesome at explaining to me the issues with my A/C unit, didn't try to sell me on anything unnecessary, and volunteered helpful information to me about the unit after he completed the maintenance work and repair. I requested dryer vent service yesterday, and within 24 hours of my request Better Service Co. responded and completed the work. My service professional was Mike who arrived ahead of schedule, completed the work within 30 minutes and explained what he had done. Better Service Co. is a great company to work with.

We originally hired another local company to clean our dryer vent. We thought the job was done with the exception that they could not provide a cover. A second company that I have used in the past referred us to Better Service Co to install a magnetic flap to keep the birds from going back in the vent and nesting. This also came with a warranty that if for some reason a creature returned, they would come back out and clean it at no charge.

When I contacted Better Service Co., I explained that we had just had our dryer vent cleaned the day before by the other company. Normally, they would have included the dryer cleaning as part of their service fees but were agreeable to waiving this service. Upon inspection, though, they were able to see that the vent was not, in fact, cleaned entirely. They had to come back out the next day to clean the vent since they had not intended to clean it with their initial visit.

Mike pulled out more bird nesting and even lint (which proved it was not cleaned correctly since we had kept the vent sealed shut and not been able to run the dryer still). I was shocked at the amount that was pulled out.

The upgraded vent has since been installed, and a camera view ensured the job was complete. Something the first company was not able to do. I was trusting of the first company because they showed me a vent with airflow. I would have had no way of knowing the job was not done though had we not called this company to install the flap.

Additionally, when I went back to the first company to let them know about the concern and ask for a PARTIAL refund (not even half of what we paid them), Better Service Co. was cooperative in sharing all the photos and evidence of what was pulled by their technician during the second cleaning. Better Service Co was true professionals and I would refer them again without hesitation.

I am so grateful to Joey at Better Service Co. I called them this morning, Joey came in and wired my furnace properly, and he checked out my thermostat, which another company told me was malfunctioning and wanted to charge me a lot to replace it. Joey explained what had probably happened and assured me the thermostat is fine and recognizes both stages of my furnace. He also doubled checked my outside unit to confirm my AC was properly wired. Joey is very knowledgeable and friendly, and I feel I’ve found a trustworthy source for my HVAC needs. I highly recommend Joey and Better Service Co.

I should also mention Better Service Co. is one of the contractors for Austin Energy’s weatherization assistance program. They did a fantastic job adding insulation, modifying duct work, and making sure my house is as efficient as possible with regard to energy usage.

My first experience with these guys was great. Met with David and he was super informative and even educated me on fire hazards, best practices, and work that should not be done vs. should be considered to maintain my home. They were honest and reasonable in price which wins big with me since I deal with a ton of companies that always want to sell you something at steep prices with no value. Local company too! Hired them for my dryer ducts and they fixed a few issues I was having in one visit. Will be contacting them in the future.

Used Better Service twice now to clean the dryer vents in our 5th floor condo. James and his crew were professionals - on times, knew their stuff, communicated well, did quality work, reasonably priced…what more could we ask for? We will be using them again.

We recently had our dryer hoses cleaned by Better Service Company at the recommendation of our local appliance repair company. The repair technician advised dryer vent and hose cleaning annually and said Better Service Company was the most thorough company in the area for this job.
The Better Service Co. tech arrived promptly, did a diligent cleaning job and suggested getting a shorter metal connector from our dryer to the wall to reduce the chance of lint blockages, which he installed the same day. We were happy with his work and will use Better Service Co. for future dryer vent cleanings.
