HVAC reviews in Austin, Texas

Christian and his partner were timely, courteous, and professional. I called Salt to help with an EV charging station installation. All within the same day that I called them, they came out quickly, evaluated what was needed, had all equipment and tools on hand, and installed an outlet in my garage for an EV charging station. Great experience all around.

The workers are professional and skilled, but their business model is to inflate the cost of small jobs. I had a loose wire connected to an outlet - exactly what I thought the issue would be - and yet they spun a web of BS about diagnostics on the system, checking all the plugs, etc…in the end, I paid $938 for a guy to take out a screw driver, unscrew an outlet, and reconnect an electrical wire. I walked past the room as the two electricians were “working on the diagnostics” to see them twiddling their thumbs. There was no effort to make matters right in the end with respect to the cost. I’ve never hired these guys for bigger jobs, but it’s clear from my last two jobs that they press the cost up to make sure it’s worth their time. As for the job, admittedly they did it well all things considered, just now worth anywhere near the cost.

Please watch out. They wanted $745 to replaced a 20 amp gf and af Leviton breaker that costs $65 at Lowe’s. They would not break apart the quote between the part and install cost.
I absolutely refused to pay their $99 service call, and don’t expect them to call back and try to get it because they know it’s impossible to justify this quote. -
On both of his service calls, Robert was polite and professional and went above and beyond to complete the requested work (water heater installation and outdoor faucet repair) and ensure I was satisfied with the outcome. He thoroughly explained any issues he encountered during the service calls and answered all of my questions regarding the installation and operation of the new water heater.

Edwin (and Ty) were pros. On time and on-demand with answers to any questions they have. They were great.
The company itself I will no longer use. I have now seen a repeated pattern in how their techs create issues that may or not be valid but some of them (not Edwin or Ty) lay it on thick with the importance of addressing the issue. Okay, so that's a sales training tactic - I get that. What I don't get is why they charge 10x on parts (vs a smaller mark up) and then 100x on their time which I fully get is necessary to pay for the time it takes, I don't however agree with their rates and for that reason I left b/c there are many just as qualified or better technicians at other companies who charge way less.
Salt has a great repuation and their customer service is actually great. There's something in their training methodology that doesn't work. Save yourself the time and hassle and skip the salt - it's not worth "bloat in your wallet" -
We had Tommy come out when one of our electrical breakers kept triggering as soon as it was reset. He did a great job in diagnosing and fixing the issue (a light switch wire was getting too close to another).
I signed up for the annual membership and so then had Ryan come out to do our annual tankless water heater flush. Ryan did a very comprehensive whole house plumbing check as part of that and pointed out some existing and potential issues, which all rang true.
Both Ryan and Tommy had excellent communication and explanation of all the work done, and I'd highly recommend them. -
Tommy Garcia, an electrician with SALT, is professional, intelligent, efficient—simply the best!!! We had a number of electrical issues and in one visit Tommy quickly and accurately diagnosed the problems and their causes. He solved them all right away. These were issues that other electricians had been unable to resolve. Tommy was very conscientious and personable—and performed these jobs at a very reasonable rate!

SCAMMERS!! I paid this company to come put to my condo multiple times to fix the dryer vent fan located in my ceiling, and one all occasions I was told the issue was fixed when in fact NOTHING WAS DONE! For years this has been broken and disconnected in my ceiling while I was told and believed everything was connected and working. This company is incompetent and dishonest!!

I contacted SALT Plumbing today for a running and vibrating toilet. AJ came out and fixed my issue in a flash. He explained the issue to me and showed me several options. He answered all of my questions and was so friendly and professional. Thank you SALT and AJ for a job well done!

Where have you been all my life? Expert professionals, quick resolution, and the best customer service. The pricing is competitive and reasonable (incl. the monthly membership). This team knows exactly what needs to be done to meet your needs and will treat you fairly. It's nice to have someone I trust across plumbing / HVAC / electrical.

I was very lucky to have two experienced and professional electricians (Christian and Spencer) out to my home to remove and reinstall recessed puck lights in floating shelves in my kitchen. They also safety-checked other electrical matters in my home and informed me about what they saw and/or were concerned about. Not only did they complete the task in one day, but what seemed like a very difficult problem, and one that I had been avoiding, appeared easy for them. That instills confidence and I look forward to working with Christian and Spencer again should I have electrical issues in the future. And, as an added bonus, Spencer helped my poor dog who began limping while they were here. He had an acorn cup stuck in his paw. Spencer took care of that too! Highly recommend!!!

Our technicians, Anthony and Jeremy were great! They were knowledgable, friendly, and efficient. Each made sure we understood every aspect of our electrical issue and made sure to give us several options that fit within our budget. From scheduling the appointment, to the arrival of our technician there was clear, easy communication.
I highly recommend this company and will use them again. -
Alan Snow responded quickly to an issue from prior work and resolved it with integrity, professionalism, and sincere regard for my satisfaction.
I’d like to sincerely thank the following individuals for the outstanding, professional work they performed on my home this month: Enzo Maciel, Grant Murphy, Logan Wells, Eduardo Pacheco, Erwin Osorio, Seth Pierce, Lolly, and Matt Plante.
I’ve had a significant amount of work completed, and every person I worked with was professional, patient, and willing to take the time to clearly explain the scope of the work while answering my many questions.
Enzo Maciel and Grant Murphy both conducted extremely thorough inspections of my electrical and plumbing systems, adding real value through their careful evaluations and thoughtful recommendations. Grant also took photos of my old PRV, which helped give me confidence that replacing it was the right decision.
Logan Wells had the challenging task of diagnosing my HVAC system, determining why I had no heat, and delivering the difficult news that the system needed to be replaced. He explained what had failed in clear, easy-to-understand terms and offered sound guidance on my options moving forward.
Seth Pierce took the time to walk me through the various HVAC models available, answering all of my questions with patience and clarity. He stayed in touch after the installation to ensure everything was working properly and also assisted me with paperwork for my insurance company.
Eduardo Pacheco and Erwin Osorio went above and beyond, working two full days—including a Saturday—to replace the HVAC system as temperatures dropped. Even after long, physically demanding days, they patiently explained how the new system works and remained cheerful throughout the entire process.
I also want to thank Lolly for her help in gathering and providing copies of all the paperwork related to the repairs and the new installation.
Matt Plante quickly resolved an issue with previously completed work, doing so without excuses and with professionalism, respect, and sincere apologies.
Overall, this was an excellent experience during what could have been a very stressful time. I truly appreciate the professionalism, expertise, and care shown by everyone involved. I also appreciate the joy and pride each SALT employee brings to their work—it clearly shows. Highly recommended.
I had an excellent experience with Enzo. He was very professional, patient, and thorough throughout the entire visit. He took the time to clearly answer all of my questions clearly and my options for the recommended repair work. Enzo also did additional research on products I am considering for my home. Before leaving, he carefully walked me through the completed work so I could see exactly what was done. His knowledge, transparency, and attention to detail gave me great confidence in his work. I would highly recommend Enzo for any electrical service needs. -
Absolutely Fabulous, Austin and his coworker (forgot his name) were great. Very respectful of a grumpy old man and his stories. Explained my options and where I might correct some issues from when the house was built. Took care of what I needed and did not pressure me on what I could not afford. Highly recommended.

Rudy came out to my home after hours and was right on time. He was polite, knowledgeable, and worked efficiently from start to finish. Super friendly and professional the entire visit. Honestly, the experience was so good that I signed up for their membership purely based on the service Rudy provided. Great experience overall and highly recommend.

Christian was patient, knowledgeable and very professional. He provided multiple options and was not pushy with any. That was refreshing. The repair was non-intrusive and efficient. They are a little pricey but I would certainly recommend SALT in the future.
-
Eric was our technician and he was very knowledgeable. He offered clear explanations of our situation and provided options for us regarding our mini-splits. He would efficient and friendly. Additionally, the staff wr have spoken with over the phone have also been patient and informative. We went with their membership plan as it will save us money and keep us on track with our routine service. I would certainly recommend.

Ryan was amazing! He had such a great attitude and did an amazing job. So grateful for his work. This really speaks to the mission of salt in being there for people and I can't appreciate his help enough. It's apparent that this company is built on a solid foundation of transparency and assistance. I can't thank you enough for the help today!!!!!!!!!

I was recently collecting quotes for an HVAC plenum replacement when I was introduced to SALT via JC and found out about their SALT+ Membership which for $50 more a year than my current HVAC maintenance contract included a more thorough bi-annual check-up and maintenance, annual electrical inspection, and annual plumbing inspection and maintenance (hot water heater flush) among other perks such as discounts on parts and labor, priority scheduling, and if that wasn't enough, lifetime maintenance on parts as service as long as the membership is maintained (the list goes on). It was a no brainer to make the transition.
I quickly had some issues come up that needed the assistance of SALT outside of the original HVAC work. A leak behind my shower/tub that the builders left me with (thanks Saratoga). This is when I had the pleasure to meet Jason for the first time. He made a plan and got this schedule and made quick work of fixing the leak. Later he would return to take care of repairs and maintenance on my hot water heater which was inspected when he was around for the leak. Incredible service!
Today I had the pleasure of working both with Garret and Tony for my first HVAC maintenance and electrical visit for 2026. Both of these incredible skilled and thorough professionals were respectful of my home, friendly with my pets (pitbull and cat), and knowledgeable. This is a consistent theme across SALT from my experience thus far. Garret gave me some things to pay attention to in the near future as potential issues which may be tackled with the plenum replacement and Tony brought my house up to code with some important surge protection and updated GFCI breakers.
I feel like I have a better sense of awareness for my home maintenance needs and a team who is there to help me accomplish important goals while making it easy for me, and for this I'm very thankful. Additionally, I feel like I'm protected from "mayhem" to some extent while I remain a SALT+ member. Huge thanks to the SALT team and I look forward to our continued partnership. -
Salt services rescued us during the weekend when both of our hot water heaters broke down. Their technician Grant was courteous, polite, friendly and very knowledgeable and helpful. We highly recommend Salt services. We had our hit water restored before the weekend was over and much faster than we expected.

We recently experienced an electrical burning smell in our bathroom, which understandably had us very concerned. The fire department came out and identified an outlet that was running hotter than it should and advised us to shut power off to that portion of the house and get an electrician out immediately. Unfortunately, that also meant losing our internet, so we needed help quickly.
I had heard about Salt being an exceptional company, so they were the first I looked up online to see if I could get someone scheduled. This was around 10:30 PM, and I was impressed that I could easily submit a request, view availability, and book an appointment right then and there. The process was seamless and very user-friendly.
The next morning, their customer care team called to confirm the details I submitted, verify the appointment time, and explain what to expect during the visit. They also let me know about the text updates I would receive and that the electrician would call before arriving. The communication was proactive, clear, and professional from the start.
Our electrician, Enzo, arrived promptly, not just “within a window,” but exactly on time. I know that’s not always possible (hence the service window), but it was impressive nonetheless. Enzo was personable, professional, and extremely thorough. He listened carefully to the full situation, addressed the immediate concern, and performed a complete inspection of the home, which we truly appreciated. He also took time to review a few other electrical items we’re considering updating in the near future.
I especially appreciated Enzo’s patience with all of my questions and his overall professionalism and expertise. It’s clear that Salt is selective about who joins their team and intentional about ensuring their electricians are both skilled and trustworthy. Their field team is a direct representation of their brand and it shows.
They may not be the cheapest option in town, but you absolutely get what you pay for. The peace of mind knowing the job is done correctly and that the company stands behind their work is worth it.
Overall, Salt has customer experience down to an art. Truly. So much so that they could teach it both within and outside their industry. The level of detail, communication, professionalism, and care was exceptional.
Enzo was fantastic, and I would gladly request him again for future work. If you’re debating between electrical companies in the Austin area, don’t. Just call Salt.
Highly recommend.
