Plumbing reviews in Austin, Texas

Honest AC hits all the right marks for me. Our AC was on the fritz and Honest AC showed up the next day early and were extremely helpful. The cost was very reasonable and Terry and his coworker were excellent, professional and kind! Couldn't recommend more.

Let me tell you a story about “honest” AC and plumbing. Heat pump wasn’t working. They came out, didn’t know what it was but suggested I replace everything for $19,000, said that if I wait till next year it’s gonna be more. Got a second opinion, replaced a valve ($700) and it’s been working ever since.

Great service. Called at 8am and they were headed to my house by 10am. Mathew, the technician, was efficient, polite, clean and communicated effectively, even helping me with the warranty on my equipment. Would recommend and do business with them again.

Called them Thursday, made Friday appt between noon and 4. No show or call. Called them to check. Was told after 4. Now show no call. Called them to check. They said technician knocked on a door and no one answered. I said he should’ve called me then. They agreed. OK Monday appt. Saturday they called and said they don’t service units they didn’t install. Oh ok my mistake, never again. 🙄

Amazing service, quick turnaround time. Transparent email post-service detailing what were fixed and added with photos. I called first thing in the morning and they were able to send someone by 10 and my AC was running by noon! Highly recommend Honest AC and Plumbing

It's in the name, HONEST Air Conditioning and Plumbing!
My A/C (heat pump) went out yesterday. I had a technician come out from another company, Champion AC & Plumbing, and quote me $18K for a full system replacement. I have a cousin that owns an HVAC business in WI, so of course I ran the situation by him. His alarm bells were going off like crazy. I Googled and found Honest Air Conditioning and Plumbing to get a second opinion.
Bryan Dyall came out, inspected the system, and it was a $320 repair! Thank you Bryan! You will get my business for life and I will refer everyone I know to you! -
Roosevelt was wonderful to work with anybody that needs to know all the ins and outs about their system with a honest and transparent answer Roosevelt is your guy with very competitive pricing on it was superior product

Honest did an excellent job installing an HVAC in my unit last year. Communication was easy, and unlike other companies, they weren't pushy. I followed up with them for maintenance this year, and the rep, Chelsea, was polite and professional. Honest is the best in the area, and I highly recommend them.

They rescheduled our appointment three times now. The last time, they rescheduled without even asking us. Avoid this company if you don’t want to waste your time.

I do not generally leave reviews but this experience calls for one. Sunday morning of Labor day weekend we woke up to a broken A/C unit blowing lukewarm air into the house around 6a.
Call in to Honest A/C at 7a and get an actual human to talk to, this was great.
Earliest appointment would be 8a the next day, which would have been on Labor day. Figured that would be the best we could do so we booked it. This was great.
At 8a receive a text from dispatch letting us know that a window of 2p - 6p would be available same day. Jump on it. This was great.
At 1015a we get a call stating a technician is on the way. This was great.
Technician shows up at 1030a. He reviewed unit, had the part on truck, and fixed us up. By 11a we have cool air blowing again. This was great.
This was all standard, no on call, no emergency service. -
This company is not honest at all. The technician had showed up and in five minutes, told me that my gas valve needed to be replaced and because the unit is old, that part is no longer made or available. Told me that the furnace had to be replaced at a cost of$15-$17,000. Then a scare tactic I just called my boss. We only have one unit available at our warehouse. I called a property manager friend of mine who sent his maintenance man who fixed my furnace in less than 10 minutes. It wasn’t the gas valve a rat had chewed a hole in The line. This man used to work for another company and they are trained not to repair your furnace, but to convince you to replace it Be aware of these guys are not honest at all but crooks

After receiving a quote from One Hour Heating & Air (Cedar Park), I had more red flags than a matador. Honest Air Conditioning & Plumbing was called to check out the situation and report back findings. While the other company said that the evaporator coil needed to be replaced, they stated the item was out of warranty. Turns out, Honest AC & Plumbing found out it was IN WARRANTY for a further two months. This alone saved thousands of dollars.
James was the tech who showed up the first day to do diagnostic and provide findings. He was prompt, professional, informative and efficient. The install crew that showed up day 2 were highly efficient and got everything back running quickly. James called and checked up, came back to quickly address a minor issue and also reached out the next day to ensure no issues were ran into.
This team saved thousands of dollars from being unnecessarily spent. I would highly recommend them! -
The Tech called me to let me know he would be at my house in 15min and then when he got there he was unable to work on my mini split. So I had to call back to reschedule another appointment and they had me schedule it out for two weeks than when the day comes they are supposed to be there he called me and said he would be there in 15-20min and it's been over two hours now and I've had to call the office twice to see where the tech was and he was in the wrong city. I feel very disappointed and upset that I have to leave a bad review. I hope people read this and know customer service after the job is done is just as important as the install.

Despite being a relatively new hire, Trent was very familiarized with all of the Honest A/C products and service options.
We remain satisfied with the high caliber of technicians skill, and will be sticking with Honest for the foreseeable future. -
We bought a brand new AC unit from this company two years ago. It went out during a storm. We called for service & they couldn’t come out for two days. The initial tech who came out, looked at it for all of a few minutes and said it was the electric panel. Their electrician came out a few hours later and said the panel was fine, it was the unit. By the end of the day we found it it was the compressor & would need to pay $2400 on a two year old unit to have it fixed. Five days
later, we received a phone call saying it would be about three days before the part came in. After four days we called to check the status and were told it wasn’t in yet but should be there (this was a Friday) by Monday & an appointment was set to fix the AC Monday. It is now Monday & we were told that they have NO idea where the part is that we need. We are still waiting for AC, almost two weeks later! I’ve gone down to a one star review from a two star. It has officially been two weeks without an AC and they still cannot locate the part needed that should have been installed yesterday. -
Very disappointed! I have used this company at least 5 times. The vent pipe got disconnected from the water heater. Easy repair and super simple! They even have on the estimate minor repair. Easy access in the garage and the hot water heater is only 8 years old and runs FINE! He said there was no pan but I was the one that installed it. So your telling me a tenant of mine removed it???? WHAT!?! They told me I needed a new water heater. I said I don't. They said I wasn't up to code. I said I don't need to be for 2025 I just need to be at code for when it was installed. They wanted to charge me $430 to fix it. I negotiated and they took 5% off. WOW!!!! Thanks owner of the company! If it weren't for the fact that I had to get it fixed I would not have used them. I will never again and do NOT recommend these price gaugers!

Beware! not so honest. I had a air conditioner that would not start earlier this year and while he was here, I asked about having some general maintenance completed at the same time. I was told it could not be done at that time but the tech suggested that I purchase a maint. package that they would come out twice a year to do general maintenance on the units. He stated that they could do in a week or so, it turned out to be over 1-1/2 months for the 1st maintenance but I should clarify that it really isn't much maintenance but a opportunity to pay them to do a quote for additional work. In addition to this, one of our units was not operational arrived, before he would even move a finger I was required to sign a document for work in the amount of around $340 which ended up taking the technician 15 minutes to replace a blown fuse and loose wire, they charged $116.99 for the fuse (cost $0.1469). Not so honest, much different story from when I initially used them several years ago.

Honest Air came out in November of 2024 to service the HVAC unit they installed about 10 years ago. I asked the tech to flush the AC drain, since he was there, which he did. He also informed me that the Capacitator was running low, and told me by installing a dual saver it would protect my compressor. I falsely assumed that he also replaced my capacitor, since he could see it would be an issue. I was wrong. The technician tried to sell me multiple services, which I declined. I signed up for their bi-annual service plan, only to be informed that since the tech had looked at the AC as well as the heater, that counted as both visits, and they would not come out in May. Fast forward to May of 2025 and we come home to a house that is hot and humid, AC not blowing. I call Honest Air, who claims to have emergency service. I am informed that they can come the following week. Since I am on their service plan, I assumed we would get quicker attention. But no. Since we couldn't wait, I went with a different company who came out the next morning. They inform me that said capacitor is now zeroed out and needs to be replaced. A $500 repair, plus service call, etc. I call Honest Air, and they inform me that they didn't replace that part in November, they had only made me aware that it was dying, and had sold me a different part, that didn't take care of it. Had they not canceled my May visit, this would have been caught for the bi-annual service call. When I bought my unit 10 years ago, "A handshake was still a handshake" (As per their tagline) and Floyd would set things right, now customer service is now non-existing. You are better off going with a different company.

Would not recommend to anyone. Technician took photos without my knowledge and sent them to my landlord who already nitpicks everything I do. Technician never said anything to me, the person living in the home, that he was taking photos or that a vent needed to be cleaned. Unprofessional and absolutely nothing “honest” about this.

Avoid this company at all costs. They installed a brand‑new AC that constantly breaks down and, instead of fixing their mistakes, they try to upsell unnecessary services. They replaced the zone board twice but still claimed it wasn’t covered under warranty, leaving us with endless service calls and zero accountability. During the brutal Texas summer, our AC failed and our dogs overheated, an absolutely terrible experience. There is nothing honest about “Honest”; it’s all sales over service. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

We spent nearly **$10,000** on a heating and AC unit from **Honest Air**, and what we’ve gotten in return is nothing short of a nightmare. For the past **3 to 4 months**, our AC keeps **failing to cool**. We’ve had **FOUR** service calls with **two different technicians**, and every time they come out, they do the **same temporary fix** — flush the attic drain — and claim it’s resolved. Within **30 days or less**, the issue returns. This issue has occurred every year since installation.
My **75-year-old partner** has had to **climb into the attic** multiple times to flush the line himself, and even **our son** has had to step in. And still, the system fails.
Now we’re being told that **the original drain lines from 1977 are still in place** — lines that should have been **replaced by Honest Air when the unit was installed**. That was their responsibility from the start. Instead, they completely skipped over this crucial step, and now they’re expecting **us to pay** for their oversight? **Unacceptable.**
To make matters worse, they managed to **upsell us a maintenance contract** — one that conveniently **doesn’t cover draining the lines**, the exact issue we’ve been dealing with from day one. And despite **repeated requests for help**, we’ve received **zero follow-up**.
**Honest Air is anything but honest.** Their incompetence and lack of accountability are beyond frustrating. This is **not how a professional company operates**.
