8-29-14 I just want to thank the 2 plumbers that witnessed my car crash this morning on Guadalupe. They saw this man change lanes into my car and then tried to race off, when he realized he had hit me. I followed him down Guadalupe until he pulled into a neighborhood and jumped out of his truck and started screaming at me. He said that I had hit his truck and was aggressively approaching me when your 2 plumbers rolled up. They told the crazy man that he better quit acting that way, because they saw the whole thing AND that he took off after he hit me. Since my car was basically undamaged and I was not hurt, I decided not to pursue any kind of insurance claim with this crazy man. But, if the plumbers had not pulled over, I think that guy was crazy enough and he may have actually hurt me. They were my angels!!! Thank you Demoss Plumbing, for hiring such honorable gentlemen. I will gladly recommend your company in the future, to anyone that needs a plumber.
    Sincerely,

Called for a plumbing issue with low flow. The Plumber missed first appointment. Demoss said they would reschedule. I had to call back to reschedule. They game me a set time a week later. Plumber again did not show up Or call. Called the office and they said plumber was running late but could not tell me when he would arrive. Then I was told if I wanted better service to call another company. Don't waste your time with this company and just do as I was told and call someone else. Total disappointment for an Austin based company.

I had an issue with a plumbing leak. These guys were dispatched by my insurance company to diagnose the problem. Ins would pay for the diagnosis, but I'd have been responsible to pay for repairs. They came on time, listened to me explain what happened, and within less than 5 minutes diagnosed that a bolt had come loose on the toilet, which caused the leak. I called my adjuster and he agreed they didn't need to perform the extensive testing since they found the problem. They tightened the bolt and did not charge me anything. How refreshing to find such honesty. I am very grateful and will definitely call them in future should I need any kind of help with plumbing. Well done. Thank you!

Here’s a heads-up about Demoss Plumbing—honestly, it felt more like "Dumass" Plumbing in my experience. My insurance company sent them to test my plumbing system for leaks, and they reported no issues with the pressure or drain side. At the time, I didn’t know much about the test they were supposed to do. They were paid to perform a hydrostatic test, but it turns out they did a flow test instead. For a hydrostatic test, they’re supposed to pull a toilet—which they claimed they did in my guest bathroom, even saying they replaced the wax ring. But the original reusable rubber ring I installed years ago was still there, unchanged.Because of their report, my insurance denied my coverage. During their flow test, they also lost their test ball and mentioned they might need to dig up my yard to retrieve it. Fortunately, they got it out from the street cleanout. Since then, I’ve paid two other plumbers out of pocket, and both said Demoss’s test was done incorrectly. One confirmed the toilet was never pulled, as they had to replace the bolts when they did it themselves and found my original rubber ring still in place. Despite this, my insurance won’t cover anything because Demoss’s report says they pulled the toilet.I contacted Demoss to ask if they’d correct their report, given the evidence they didn’t do the proper test. They brushed it off, saying the other plumbers were just trying to discredit them—even though I didn’t mention any names. The person I spoke to, James, said they wouldn’t amend their statement, regardless of what happened with the toilet. Now I’m stuck with a $35,000 plumbing bill, and despite fighting with my insurance, they won’t budge because of Demoss’s report. I hope sharing this helps someone avoid the same frustration and months of back-and-forth with their insurance. If your insurance sends Demoss out, I’d strongly suggest getting a second opinion.

Very disappointed in my experience with Demoss Plumbing and their shady billing practices. I got the reference to them from a friend, but it turned out to be a bad tip. Demoss sent two guys to check for a suspected slow leak in a pipe. All the guys did for the whole hour they were at my house is shine flashlights at the drywall and hook up a gauge to the outdoor faucet to see if a leak was detected. For this elementary "work," they charged me $255 for a diagnosis (they said no leak). My dad, who owns three laundromats and hires plumbers all the time, about choked when he heard what they charged me for this simple diagnosis.

Their overpriced diagnosis was not even correct. I had a different plumber come to the house two days later. The new plumber was much more knowledgeable and quickly identified not only a serious leak in the bathroom wall, which had done a huge amount of damage to the drywall, but also a slow drip from the connection in my water heater.

Besides being wrong, their diagnosis wasn't a complex or certified master plumber type job. I could've done this myself with a $20 water pressure gauge from Amazon. Additionally, the office lady had told me that Demoss charges $165 an hour. Why the $255? They charged me 30 minutes of travel time FOR TRAVEL WITHIN THE SAME SUBURB OF 10,000 people. I know a dozen local plumbers who charge lower hourly rates and don't charge for travel times in the same town. Avoid this one. Many better plumbing options out there.

They charged my already broke grandma $500 to just “assess” our system. Our shower hot water was flowing slow, not even a major problem.

We don't have home insurance so it seems they're used to charging insurance companies a lot and less so individuals like us.

If I was present I wouldn't have let her pay the bill.

Demoss Plumbing provided outstanding service when I needed it most. Their team was extremely professional and went out of their way to fit me into their schedule to restore water to my home before the holiday. They arrived on time, Daryl B. and Jason P. were both friendly, thoughtful, and respectful while working in my home. I truly appreciate their dedication and would highly recommend De Moss Plumbing to anyone in need of reliable plumbing services.

after a plumber we had scheduled with cancelled, we called another company and they sent out a plumber the same afternoon. billy arrived and right away let my husband and me know he would do whatever it took to figure out why our pipes were backing up. about an hour later, he fixed the problem and told us everything was working fine. he even had us flush all our toilets to double-check before he left. really happy they helped us out quickly here in austin!

I scheduled an appointment for a plumber in Austin to snake a drain line. They gave me their hourly rates ahead of time, which seemed fair and reasonable. Miguel showed up right on time and got started quickly, answering all my questions as he worked. I also needed an old gas valve and a sewer clean-out cap replaced, and he was happy to take care of those too since there was no rush for his next job. Miguel kept the work area tidy and wore all the proper safety gear, so you couldn't even tell any plumbing work had been done. I'm really glad I called them and will definitely use them again for any plumbing problems.

I had a great experience with the plumber who came out to fix my hot water heater in Austin. They were quick to respond and acted very professionally. I had to go through my home warranty company to set up the service call, and I understand that plumbers have to follow certain steps set by the home warranty company, like waiting for approvals and parts. Sometimes the home warranty company can be a bit slow, but the plumber, Miguel, handled everything smoothly and kept me updated. I would definitely call them again for any plumbing work I need in the future.

I had an emergency leak at my place in Austin and reached out to Mendez Family Plumbing & Electrical. They were able to send someone out in just a couple of hours. While I waited, Billy gave me clear instructions over the phone to help stop the water. When Billy and Miguel arrived, they were very professional and called ahead to let me know they were on their way. They fixed the leak quickly, explained what went wrong, and even showed me how to handle similar plumbing issues in the future. My day got a lot better thanks to their help. I highly recommend them and will definitely use their plumbing services again.

My 25-year-old water heater suddenly stopped working, and through a neighbor's recommendation, I reached out to Mendez Family Plumbing & Electrical just before they closed for the evening. They were able to schedule me for the next day, which was a relief. When Miguel arrived, he ran a thorough diagnostic, explained possible reasons for the issue, and gave me clear options with quotes for repair and replacement. Thanks to his clear explanations, I decided it was time to upgrade to a new system. Miguel took the time to talk me through several choices for my home here in Austin, making sure I got the best value. It was a nice change from other companies that try to upsell you. I ended up getting a high-efficiency tankless water heater and also had them install a new water softener, since my old one was nearly as outdated as the heater. They helped me with the utility rebate paperwork, which saved me some hassle. I went with their financing option for a fast install, and they even provided me with temporary hot water solutions before the work was finished. Once everything was approved, they ordered the equipment and kept me informed every step of the way. On installation day, I watched for a while as Miguel and Billy handled everything with care and professionalism. There was also a technician dedicated to making custom pipe fittings for my setup, which impressed me. They asked for my input on where to place the venting and made sure the work area stayed neat and clean. When I got home, everything was running smoothly and I was surprised by how quiet the new water heater was. The digital controls are easy to use and look very modern. The team even returned the next day to install a water filtration system and fix a faucet I had tried to repair myself earlier. Miguel also offered to give me free advice on insulating my pipes for better efficiency—a huge help in Austin’s hot climate. Overall, I’m really happy with the quality of work and fair pricing. I’ll post an update once I see how everything holds up during the summer.

i usually don’t write reviews, but i always check them when i need a plumber in a hurry. these folks really earned some good words. i can’t speak for the whole crew, but i can definitely recommend billy, one of their plumbers. sometimes it’s all about who shows up to fix your pipes, and i got lucky. i had a plumbing problem at home, so i started looking around for plumbers with solid ratings. when i called, the person who picked up the phone was friendly and quick to help me set things up, which already made me feel better about my choice. billy called ahead to confirm when he’d arrive, and he even showed up earlier than planned. billy really knows his plumbing. i had a ton of questions about what was going on, and even though i probably asked too many, he answered everything and explained things clearly. i really appreciated how patient he was. when it came down to the work, billy figured out what was wrong, gave me a clear estimate, and fixed the leak right away. he made sure i understood what he was doing and didn’t make me feel rushed at all. it’s not just about the company, but the plumber who comes out, and i’m glad billy was the one to help. i’ll definitely call them again if i need plumbing help in the future, but i hope it’s not too soon!

After reaching out to a few other plumbing companies in Austin without any luck, I finally got a quick response from Mendez Family Plumbing & Electrical when my shower nozzle cartridge broke one evening. Miguel was really helpful—he explained how I could manage the leak myself until he could come by the next morning. He showed up right on time, fixed the problem quickly, and made sure everything was running smoothly before leaving. Miguel was very professional and the price for the repair was fair, not expensive like I expected for an emergency. I definitely recommend them for any plumbing repairs!

We recently had a major plumbing project completed in our older home. The plan included re-piping the entire house, updating the water lines, replacing all interior plumbing fixtures, upgrading the main water shutoff, and waterproofing the basement. We chose this plumbing company after they handled an emergency water leak in our bathroom late one Saturday night with impressive professionalism. Everything about the job was clearly spelled out in the contract, from what work would be done to the payment schedule. The company kept us updated with a detailed project plan and regular communication. From start to finish, every member of their team was friendly, skilled, and professional. Miguel and Billy, who worked on the plumbing, were always on time and wore their uniforms, which made us feel comfortable—especially since we live in a neighborhood that appreciates knowing who’s coming and going. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. The crew arrived each morning right on time, worked hard throughout the day, and always left the area spotless when they finished. There was great organization—every step was communicated to us, including when certain materials would arrive or if there were any delays. The project management made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. We are extremely happy with the results. The plumbing throughout our home is now updated, and everything works perfectly. We felt comfortable with the team in our home, and they made it easy for us to manage living there during the work. This was a great investment, and we would definitely recommend this plumbing company to our friends and family. We will continue to use them for any future plumbing needs.

earlier in the summer, i called a local plumber in austin because our family wasn’t getting enough hot water. after one person took a shower, there just wasn’t any hot water left for laundry or a second shower, which made things tough for our family of four. i spoke with miguel, who explained all the plumbing options to fix the hot water issue and helped us choose the best solution. the next week, our hot water problem was completely fixed! i would definitely recommend this plumbing service and will call them again if we need anything else.

When our water heater in the attic needed to be replaced, Miguel and Billy showed up quickly and got the new one installed without any hassle. During their visit, they also noticed that we didn't have a pressure reducing valve (PRV) on our main water line, which meant our water pressure was way too high at 130psi. They took care of that by adding a PRV, and now everything works perfectly! I was worried at first because of the water damage in one of the bedrooms, but every question or concern I had was answered right away by Miguel or Billy. I highly recommend these plumbers to anyone who needs help with their plumbing and will definitely call them again for any future issues!

when our water pressure kept acting up, we assumed our well pump was the issue. turns out, there was actually a busted pipe under the slab in our office in austin. we only noticed because the carpet started getting wet. billy from the plumbing team came out quickly and used his tools to find the exact spot of the leak under the concrete. we set up a time for the repair, and billy showed up early and got the job done in just a few hours. he and his crew were on time, knew what they were doing, were really polite, and cleaned up everything before they left. five stars isn’t enough for this level of plumbing service!

After having two other plumbing companies try and fail to repair my home’s radiant heating system, Mendez Family Plumbing & Electrical had it running smoothly in just about an hour. what stood out to me was that billy really knew what he was doing. i know that sounds simple, but the other companies sent out folks who seemed new to the job—they spent a long time, swapped out a couple of parts, and charged me a lot. the plumber who came out found the issue fast and got it fixed, and now my system is working better than it has in a long time. i’ll definitely be calling them again if i need plumbing help in austin.

i reached out to a local plumber in austin because the hot water wasn’t working in my showers and bathtubs, though the bathroom sinks were working fine. i called in the evening and got scheduled for an appointment at 9am two days later. i got a call ahead at 8:15am, and billy and miguel showed up about 10 minutes early. they quickly figured out what was wrong and fixed it without any hassle. they were very professional, friendly, and even gave me a discount as a new customer. if i ever have plumbing issues in the future, i’ll definitely call them again. their prices are also very fair, and the service was excellent.
