Constraction reviews in Colleyville, Texas

Brian came out to replace a could of shingles that came off due to strong winds. While he was up there, he said that I had a lot of hail damage (im sure every roofer says that) but Brian showed me pictures and I was shocked. I filed a claim, it was denied. But Brian went to bat for me and convinced the State Farm adjuster that I needed a new roof, later that night, the claim was approved. He was very professional throughout the whole process. Gave me different options on color shingles and gutters. We went with a different color roof and gutters, now it looks like a brand new house to us. Highly recommended and you wont be disappointed.

Roger the Roofer and their crew are fantastic! We couldn’t be more pleased. We wouldn’t have even gotten a roof if it wasn’t for Blair, their project manager. She was persistent with our insurance company and really went above and beyond. She made sure everything was done in a timely manner, kept us informed every step of the way and explained all steps throughout the whole process. It’s so very easy giving them our highest recommendations!
Roger The Roofer and their team doesn’t just do roofs, they have an excellent team of painters that painted the whole outside of our house, replaced and repaired some columns and boards, took down our old drywall in our garage and replaced it with new drywall, taped and textured. Blair was again our project manager and we couldn’t recommend them more. Friendly, respectful of our property and made sure everything was cleaned up! -
I have used Kevin and Brad for over 10 years. They both are very professional and experienced. I have used them numerous times for my pool equipment. It's nice being able to trust a company that knows what they are doing and gets the job done right. I would highly recommend them for any of your pool needs.

I can't thank enough Sunstone Pools and their staff for the outstanding job they did in repairing and updating my pool turning it into the "crown jewel" of the neighborhood. Our Texas home had been on the market for longer than we wanted as we were in the process of a job move to CA. Several realtors told us the pool was an eyesore and needed major repairs and cosmetic updating as they felt it was hindering the sale. Within one week following the renovation of the pool we had 2 offers and closed on the sale within 2 weeks. We are totally convinced it was the pool that really helped seal the deal. Thank you again Sunset Pools.

I contacted Sunstone Pools and spoke to Kevin. I explained to Kevin what I was looking for . Kevin answered all my questions and helped me get my project under way. He and his crew were very professional and competed my project way ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Sunstone Pools and Outdoor living for all your backyard projects.

Pleased with the pool renovation overall. Byron was helpful with design ideas, and attentive with followup. We had some minor leaks show up in the pvc fittings after completion, and they were taken care of promptly. Good company to work with.

It has been a pleasure to work with Sunstone Pools. We have a beautiful new Outdoor living space and a total pool and deck renovation. Their performance has been flawless from design to implementation to execution .
I would strongly recommend them to anyone considering similar work -
Had Sunstone pools come in and install my hot tub ..really did a great job. They ran all the pipes under ground and even replanted my plants they had to move.
.Was really thorough and quick. They came in after I went to work as was completed by the time I got home at 6. Kevin and Brad thank you I have really enjoyed the hot tub -
I wish all contractors paid this much attention to a job. I had a pool deck replaced and they did a great job. Not only were they upfront about everything, but they kept me updated as the job progressed. They were very responsive to questions and requests. Their crews were all professional and easy to work with. Not only am I happy with this job, but they will be getting calls for all my future pool renovation and outdoor living needs.

While the end result is beautiful, we appreciate all of Jordan's help in the decision-making process. His knowledge, hard work and guidance in designing a pool that matched our vision was invaluable.
Jordan was able to help navigate the extra projects that our property required in order to build the pool; working with the power company to bury the power lines, rebuilding our garage to give us more room, and re-routing the sewer and gas lines. While not a glamorous part of the pool building, having his help greatly reduced our stress. -
Great experience from design to completion. Tony, our designer was very patient in guiding us through the design process and Brad (one of the owners) was personally checking on the progress. The whole crew was very professional and responsive. Our kids are loving it and all our friends also had great things to say about the pool and backyard.

We hired this company to replace decking, tile, coping, skimmer, pool light and add new columns and water bowls. NEVER in my life have I seem such poor quality work. It took them 6 months to complete this job. Our initial contact, Brad was onsite 1 time and left the remainder of the work to an uninformed crew with no direction.
1. No communication. The crew would show up without notice. This was an issue as we had an electric gate. We requested a schedule on multiple occasions but never received.
2. Destruction of Property - During demo of the old deck they destroyed a section of our driveway with a track loader. We were out half the cost of repair.
3. No Oversight of Crew - There was absolutely no design, plans or oversight provided to the forming guys. After the initial formation, The crew had to tear out and start over to form per our initial discussion with Brad.
4. Destruction of Property - During formation of the decking, holes were dug in our yard to take dirt as needed to the new decking area. We were forced to withhold a draw until dirt was replaced.
5. No Clean Up - After demo, we had to make several requests for the crew to come clean up the old brick, debris and nails.
6. Damage to Property - Pool started to be refilled with black mastic and grout splatters covering inside pool. Again we had to make several requests to Brad to come and repair.
7. Poor Quality Product - Water bowls arrived and were installed with paint runs.
8. Inexperienced Crew and Faulty Install - Tile guys installed plumbing for columns. .As a result of a plumbing leak, the columns had to be torn down and replaced.
9. Damage to Property - While completing the plumbing repair, the crew cracked a bowl and severely scratched the other. It took 3 MONTHS of debate to get new bowls. .
10. Unprofessional - Multiple requests had to be made for grout and mastic to finish out the replaced columns. And the icing on the cake, after full payment to Sunstone, Brad stopped responding and blocked my wife's texts. It took a visit to Sunstone to meet with one of the owners to get the project finished. -
initial job was very good. We had a punch list that included that the swim jets did not work, a concrete patch was needed on steps by spa, water fill lid was painted closed and automatic water fill will not stop, and no one reviewed how to operate new pool equipment installed, and air bubbles are coming out of several return jets. I called 4 times and was told they would be in touch. It is over a year later and this has not been done. A beautiful pool but after spending the money with Sunstone we are going to have to pay another company to make the swim jets operational and repair the cosmetic issues.
Update: 07/28/2022
Not sure why you are perplexed. None of this was addressed until after I posted the review. Thank you for coming out and fixing the water filler. The issues with the concrete step and the swim jets are still not resolved however your guy did tell us you would when he came and fixed the water fill. We discussed this and decided to leave the review up until those are completed. No one ever trained my husband on the computer, they trained me and he is who wrote the initial review. Still waiting on the swim jets and step repair. Punch list was sent in 2021 when pool was completed. You guys responded after we posted this review. Again, saying this is perplexing when none of this was addressed until after this review is perplexing. The review is the first time we ever got a response even after calling you guys multiple times. I do want to reiterate, our pool is beautiful. What was done well was done beautifully. We just want working swim jets and the steps repaired. We are out of town so if you actually did this today, just let me know and I will take the review down and give you a good review. -
Met with Kevinn and felt very comfortable with our decision. Their price was very competitive with other contractors in the area. Decided to go with a NPT Stonescpes mini-pebble finish and glass tiles. We picked Aqua-Blue mini-pebble. I will admit that there were communication issues between our main POC Brad as well as Kevinn. That being said, Sunstone met, and exceeded our expectations. We have the most beautiful pool I could have imagined. We ended up using Sunstone to also do a fairly big landscape upgrade to our yard/patio. Again, we had some communication issues, but again, these guys did a FANTASTIC job on the concrete and painting job. I am a picky Customer, but I would not hesitate whatsoever to use these guys again. I absolutely love, love, love my pool, and they made it happen. A+. Also, we had Lynn make several trips after the install to wrap up some loose ends. He was the BEST. I really feel these folks took pride in their services. I will certainly keep them in mind for future renovations, if needed. - Happy Customer

We just had our pool resurfaced and could not be any happier with the results! We love the finished product. Our pool was originally installed by another company, when it was time to resurface we received estimates from a few different places and were glad we found Sunstone Pools. We originally had white plaster and opted for the Stonescapes Mini Pebble Pool Plaster. What a difference! Everyone we spoke with and dealt with were very professional and friendly. We started with Kevinn, and then had Lynn and Chris overseeing the work and couldn't have asked for a better group of guys. They always informed us on their schedule and everyone was prompt. Also, even when their job was finished, they still welcomed any questions I had. As a matter of fact a couple months after the resurfacing was compolete, I was still contacted by Lynn just as a courtesy call. If we had heard of Sunstone Pools 13 years ago when we moved here, that's the company we would have chosen. Thanks much to Kevinn, Lynn and Chris! I would highly recommend Sunstone Pools!

I had Sunstone Pools (Kevin) over yesterday for some emergency work on my pool equipment. He came over to my house very quickly and performed unbelievably to get my system back on line repairing filter and replacing broken backwash valve. Also did major work to my heater to get that back working again having to re-wire and replacing components. I would recommend Sunstone Pools to do anything from building new pool, make over of existing pool or any repairs needed. Great work!!

I worked with Kevin this time last year and he designed and built a Fabulous Pool with Waterfalls and a tanning deck. They were fast and efficient in every way. We have been swimming since Memorial Day weekend of 2016 and I couldn't be more Happy...It has transformed our backyard into a Oasis of Joy. We have enjoyed it everyday and will for many years to come. I do have to add that Kevin's team still takes care of me when I have any questions about maintenance or chemicals.
Sunstone Pools and their team ROCK! And I highly recomend them.
Thanks for everything Kevin :) -
Sunstone pools provided a high quality pool remodel which started as just a replaster job but we decided to replace the coping and tile as well. Brad worked with us to alter the plans and get it all done. The pool looks great and the professionalism of all the workers was appreciated.

I’m one of those guys who reads reviews but rarely takes the time to actually leave one… so wanted to share my experience this time. We had a fairly involved pool remodel project for an older pool that needed new plaster, and had the old flagstone decking sink in different areas. We also wanted to explore pricing to add new water features (sheer decents), upgrade pool lights to LED, raise our deep end to 5 feet for water volleyball, and if possible add a new firepit and bench. For piece of mind, we wanted to go with a pool builder who was local, and been in business for a while. We talked with 4 different local pool builders, and discussed different design ideas. It so happened that the Sunstone was not only the most involved and brought the most creative ideas… but also offered the best value, allowing us to fit all our wish-list items into our budget.
We worked with Jordan throughout the design and sales process, and he was great with all his design ideas, and challenging our initial thoughts but in a nice, collaborative way. Most of all, he was VERY patient with us and even took me on a tour of different pools with similar concepts so I could be confident in the final selections. Before signing the contract, we were introduced to Brad the owner, and toured their design center in Southlake. Lynn was our project manager, and went above and beyond keeping all the different efforts and work teams moving forward. If there was any hiccups, Lynn took of it. You won’t find a better company with their communications, and follow through than Sunstone… and that is extremely important with big construction projects. These guys also use their own subs (employees), so you get experienced people who care and are dedicated to providing a quality product. Bottom line, we love our pool! Thank you Sunstone! -
We had a huge project. Pool resurface and remodel, new equipment, new decking and an outdoor kitchen with a pergola. The beginning process of hiring, planning and executing our project seemed to go so smoothly....until the work started. We weren't living at the house when the work was being done and there seem to be no supervisors watching their workers. From the start the workers were disrespectful to our property. They threw their trash into our flower beds, discarded construction material all over our property and even dumped blue plaster into our neighbor's grass. I sent pictures to Brad. He promised everything would be cleaned up. It wasn't. We arrived one morning to see the deck completely finished with no drains installed. We told brad and they were eventually installed. We shouldn't have to tell a pool and deck company that drains need to be installed. Neighbors contacted us about loud music and yelling during some very early weekend mornings when they were working. They were using our city garbage bin to haul their construction refuse into a pile on our driveway. They completely destroyed our bin and we had to order a new one. The city sent us citation warnings because they were throwing their construction trash (PVC pipes etc ) into our recycling bin. Many days they blocked our alley so city services couldn't pass through. Part of the renovation involves setting up the pool. Communication was poor. If we misunderstood procedures and asked questions we were told we were "crazy" and sending "dumb" texts and "accusing" them of not performing work that they performed. With each call and text to Brad he became more confrontational, rude and unprofessional. He even resorted to name calling. Brad gave us a list of references at the start. Three contacted us back and gave him positive reviews. The fact that our experience was so completely different seems very suspicious. If we would have known at the beginning how unprofessional and aggravating this company would be, we would never had hired them. Please, learn from our mistake.
***Please see the photo of the text that Brad is accusing the sender of "(unloaded on us in an awful venomous way)" and his actual venomous response. -
We were thoroughly impressed with Sunstone Pools' extensive expertise in all aspects of swimming pool construction. Their customer service sets a remarkable standard in the industry, and a significant advantage they offer is that the majority, if not all, of the construction work is handled in-house, distinguishing them from other pool companies that frequently rely on subcontractors.
