I contacted Ron for a second opinion after I had another electrician and HVAC specialist analyze the blown breaker to my furnace. Not only did Ron find the root cause of the problem, he repaired the unit at a substantially lower cost. The other two were just going to replace the broken parts, and even recommended the replacement of parts that did not require replacement. I would definitely recommend Ron! In this day and age to find someone in the service industry who takes the time to explain things thoroughly, is an expert at what he does, and truly is looking out for the customer’s best interest is a rarity.

We would highly recommend Texas Star for any AC and Heating work. Ron fixed our unit and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong and show us all the parts installed.
The unit went out again 3 weeks later and Ron showed up within two hours. It was a completely different part that had failed. The two hour response time shows us that Ron is very concerned about the quality of the work he does and the importance of the customer. We ahve several rental homes as well.

I called Texas Star Heating & Cooling after my a/c went out in the middle of July. Ron got out to my house at 5:30 in the evening -- right on the time we'd agreed on. He and Jose were professional, and explained what they were doing every step of the way. They showed me how they were trouble shooting and discussed common problems with the systems. They replaced a motor on the a/c that had gone out, cleaned the coils and the a/c is now running great. I liked how Ron was a straight shooter about everything when it came to system. He also guaranteed their work for a year. The price was reasonable for the replacement.

I usually don't write reviews, but these guys did such a great job so I needed to. I'll be a returning customer whenever I need a/c help.

I came home from work after a long day and discovered that my upstairs AC unit was not cooling. After researching the internet I came across a number of positive Google reviews for a company called Texas Star Heating & Cooling. I then sent an inquiry email to the company and to my surprise was contacted by Ron Niles at 7:30 PM. I scheduled a service call and Ron showed up as scheduled. He did a thorough analysis of my system, fixed the problem and also took the time to educate me on how to prevent a similar problem from occurring in the future. Ron was very professional and I found him to be honest and ethical. I will use him again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to my neighbors.

I recently moved to Houston from California where I hadn't had air conditioning in my home. I was told I would need to have my A/C unit serviced from time to time so I picked Ron based on internet reviews. He showed up on time and was very professional. As this was my first time to have a house with an A/C unit, I wanted to watch everything Ron was doing so as to familiarize myself with it. Ron was fine with me looking over his shoulder the whole time and answered all of my many questions. He showed me things I could do myself to maintain my system and recommended some filters ( I asked him what brand he used) and a new thermostat ( I didn't really like the one I had) that he didn't sell himself, but he told me what one to get. He thought I could install it myself but told me to call him if I had any problems. I did install the new thermostat myself and it was easy just like he said. Besides his professionalism and competency, the thing I appreciated about Ron the most was that he never tried to upsell me or try to sell me something I didn't need, which I really liked. He charged by the hour and for his supplies, which is what he told me before I hired him, so the bill didn't have any surprises. My A/C is quieter and get's down to temperature faster now, and my wife says the house smells better. I will use Ron again and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I will never call another HVAC company! Ron was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Before he came out, he spent the time to help me over the phone to ensure I had done everything I could do. When he came out to work on my system, he quickly identified my problem. Ron was able to explain what was wrong in such a way that I had a clear understanding of what he had to do.

He quoted me an extremely fair price for such high quality work. After successfully and quickly finishing the project, he furthered surprised me with his kindness. As he was working and we were talking, Ron learned that I had been honorably discharged from the U.S. Army last week and not yet started my new job. A/C repairs couldn't have come at a more inconvenient time! When it came time to settle up, he honored me in a way I would never expect.

I will always use Texas Star Heating and Cooling! I will recommend him to friends and family. If you are trying to decide who to call for any HVAC needs, stop and call Ron. He will give you an honest and experienced opinion of what you need to do to solve your problem or improve your system.

My downstairs 5 ton unit went out with a cracked coil on the condenser. I had two other companies look at it and both said it was not repairable and offered to replace it with a new unit ($$$$$). Texas Star was able to come out today and after looking at it said he could easily repair it ($). Ron and his workmate worked on it for a few hours and was able to show me the finished repair and the vacuum test results. I was very pleased with work and the price was much better than a new unit. I may get a couple more years out of her now.

Ron is AMAZING! We had some trouble installing our new smart a/c thermostat and lost power to our unit. He came right away on a holiday! The kindest, hard-working, honest, dependable guy you’ll ever meet. We’ll always go with Texas Star for our HVAC needs.

I am a home owner who found Ron after checking out his reviews on Google. I had a leak that left my ac blowing hot air. My internal temps reached 88 degrees. Ron came out the next day (at my request) and got me immediately serviced, getting cold air blowing again. Then work really began. He devoted about 5 hours between two visits to completely service my AC unit, fixing what was wrong, and then getting my unit to run efficiently and more effectively to extend the life of my unit which is nearing replacement. His knowledge and passion for his job is second to none. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. And the cost? Half of what I expected! Ron is the real deal!

We were lucky enough to find Texas Star years ago to help maintain our A/C and heating units. One A/C unit was original to our 40 year old home. We we did some upgrades to our house a few years back, there was no doubt that we were in the best hands to walk us through what we needed and then to do THE BEST work replacing our A/C units (the original one was still running thanks to Mr. Ron but it was time for it to retire) and Furnace. The job was done above and beyond any great expectation. When you hire Texas Star, you are hiring the best in the business, hands down.

Ron is awesome. He's friendly, knowledgeable and honest. He took his time checking to make sure everything was working well and explained everything to me before he left. This was my first time as a home owner to have to call an Ac technician and I have to admit I was afraid of being ripped off and my AC being jimmy rigged but from the moment I made the appointment to the moment Ron left I felt just as comfortable as if my own father had come over to fix my AC.

A couple of weeks ago, my A/C stopped working, a neighbor referred Ron to me. I called him and when he came, I got the feeling that he was in fact an honest and reliable person. Ron is amazing. He is honest and thorough in his assessments. he has bailed us out a few times and will be the one to replace my unit. These days it's easy to be uncertain when picking contractors...not with Ron. I recommend him to anyone I know that needs help and they all rave about how satisfied they are with his service. Ron inspected and repaired our air conditioner last night. He patiently explained everything he did and checked so we knew exactly what was going on. While I was out of town and my husband was home, the A/C began going out on a Sunday. Monday morning, my husband found Texas Star Heating and Cooling and Ron came out to our house first thing in the morning. My husband contacted him by 8am, and Ron was at our house by 9:30am. He was incredibly thorough, had to make a few different trips to distribution as he was trying to do step by step what was going on, only to find out multiple issues as he investigated more. Ron was very thorough, upfront and honest. He made sure to explain, in length, what was going on and why he was doing what he was the way he was. When I got home Monday afternoon, Ron was still there working through the heat and the rain storms to make sure we had a working A/C unit. Not only is our A/C unit working, but it is blowing colder than ever. Ron also gave us tips and ideas on ways to better maintain our A/C unit. Ron was flexible for us with payment options and amazing. He made sure to answer all of our questions as well. I would recommend him multiple times over again, and plan to use him for any future A/C needs.

I contacted Ron because I noticed water coming thru my ceiling upstairs. The problem was relatively minor and the unit just needed some TLC and cleaning. Ron was very informative, gave a lot of information on my AC unit and the short cuts my builder took when installing my unit. He spent at least 2 1/2 hrs taking apart, working, and cleaning all the parts. His workmanship is beyond what I expected and is very honest, dependable, and willing to ensure that his customer's are treated right and well informed. He'll be back to increase the airflow of my unit since the building contractors didn't install all of the parts that are needed to ensure optimum performance. His rate was very affordable for a an AC check and he went well above and beyond routine maintenance. Ron actually cares about his customers and appears to enjoy the work..he told me he's been at it for over 30 years and I see it. If you want the best for your AC repairs/maintenance, don't waste your time looking around for other places, CALL RON. You won't be disappointed. Anyone else is just money down the drain.

Our AC kept tripping the fuse over the weekend. I called Mr. Ron on a Sunday morning. He immediately called back and said he would be there in roughly an hour. He informed that there would be a charge for him coming and that he would review any repairs and the costs. He actually arrived in less than 45 minutes! He was very knowledgeable and you can tell he is an expert in the HVAC field.

My only complaint is that there was no review of repairs or expected costs. Granted, I was upstairs dealing with a grumpy toddler. However, by the time I got outside, he had already installed some parts and was getting more from his truck. I am certainly not disappointed in his services and in fact, I am very satisfied in his thorough explanation of the problems, discussion of future maintenance/replacement, prompt response in my call, and pricing in the repairs completed. I just think it is standard practice to give an estimate and get the approval BEFORE completing the work. If it weren't for that small glitch, I would definitely give 5 stars. Thanks Mr. Ron!!!

I ve just called 2 minutes ago and I wanted to get a quote. I've never done this and was asking several questions. Ron essentially told me "I don't have time for this call someone else" great way to run customers out. We'll im just glad not to have done business with them.

So very happy and happy to say I finally have a heating/ac company that will be my go to. Ron explains everything thoroughly and wants to make sure you are happy with his service. They installed my new heater and more. Did such a great job and his helpers are also so nice and they worked hard and made sure everything was neat and working well. I can’t thank them enough for such great service and reasonable pricing. Give them a call for your air needs. I wish I had found them long ago.
