Home Services reviews in Dallas, Texas

I will give them 2 stars because they did actually come and mow the lawn, but it certainly was not a seamless experience. My mother in law scheduled lawn service for us to help my husband and I out during a stressful time. They were supposed to come on Tuesday. I called at 8:00 am to see what time they would be out so I could go put my dog (who is an outside dog) into a kennel inside. They told me they didn't have a time frame, and the woman who answered the phone had a bad attitude. They said they would call 30 minutes prior to arrival. Didn't hear from them all day. I called at 2, she said we were still on track to have the lawn mowed today, so I went home, put the dog in the kennel, and waited to hear from them. At 4:30, I still had not heard from them. I called again, got the same rude receptionist. I asked to speak to a manager and was sent to Andy, who sounded like he just hated everything. Andy informed me (at 4:30) that a truck had broken down and they weren't coming today. He assured me we would be the first priority tomorrow morning. Wednesday morning, I called at 8:30. I had to call 3 times before anybody answered. Same woman, same rude attitude. I was told they couldn't tell me a time they would be there again. I was supposed to be priority. Shouldn't somebody already be on their way there!? I asked to talk to Andy again. He was still unimpressed with life. He told me that he needed to contact a crew so he could figure it out and would call me back in 30 minutes. I waited 35 minutes before calling him. I had read their other reviews and was starting to worry that my mother in laws sweet gesture was going to go wasted by crappy service. He told me he would have a crew there in an hour. The actual mow job was just okay, they didn't edge though, and my husband was not that impressed. We had already been considering getting a lawn service for ourselves, and had this of gone smoothly, we probably would have given them a shot, but it didn't and now they've lost a potential customer. Andy said that they are aware of their issues and poor reviews and they are working to fix it, but these reviews go back a couple of years with the same exact stories, so I can't imagine that they ever actually make changes to improve. Overall, the lawn got mowed, but it was a pain in the butt and they didn't do a great job.

Very poor service. They showed up late, rushed through the job, and left clippings all over the driveway and sidewalk. My lawn looked uneven and patchy afterward. When I called to express concerns, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. Definitely not worth the money.

They shattered a glass door in my backyard and then refused to help or accept responsibility.
I was a happy customer for over 3 years, until 5/28/19 when they shattered a sliding glass door in my backyard. I contacted customer service right away to report the issue and request resolution. The agent Marion was rude saying he talked to the work crew that day and they denied shattering my door. He told me that since I don't have video proving they did it, they don't have to do anything.
I tried multiple times over the ensuing weeks to contact the company for assistance but they refused to accept responsibility for the damages. They refused to even provide the name of their insurance company.
I am very upset with the way they handled this incident, and would not recommend their service to anyone. -
Absolutely awful. They use different teams each time to come to your house, we've never gotten the same people twice. Sometimes they are good, most of the time not... This past time was the last straw. They didn't even blow off our patio, or edge around our jungle gym. They cannot provide any sort of time window, not even the correct day, usually... They have double charged me for things MULTIPLE times and I always have to call and have it refunded. Save your money, use someone, anyone, else... these guys are awful.

Their drivers are reckless and rude

I called Dallas Arbor Care for a quote to trim my mature trees after getting a recommendation. Doug gave me a very reasonable estimate and then educated me on how trees are trimmed. I thought you just cut branches that you don’t want and branches that are dead, but there’s actually a science to trimming trees and the type of tree. He had his team at my house on the promised date and I couldn’t be happier. I appreciate their expertise and eye for detail. The crew was professional and friendly and cleaned up nicely.

In my younger years I did tree work including pruning from within the trees on ropes and saddle. This included very near historic houses in a National Park as I worked for the Dept of Interior. Suffice it to say that I am an exacting customer. The crews with Dallas Arbor Care are professional, knowledgeable, and careful of your property. I know, because I have hired them for many years, inspected their work both real-time and after they have departed. Now I just let them on my property while I'm at work, that is the kind of trust that has been garnered. Douglas owns the company and he is a fine employer and a wonderful family man. How he treats others matters to me as well as his acumen regarding the trees. When handing my hard-earned money over to someone they have to meet all criteria. This company does and they have earned my loyalty and praise. Ed F.

I've had their service for about 1 year. At first my lawn sprung to life when they started and looked really good for a while, but as the services continued, the lawn started to look awful with each additional service visit.
I've spent nearly $1000 on their services this year and my neighbor's lawns look a whole lot better without Trugreen. I contracted with them because I thought they would do more than spread fertilizer. I'm really disappointed with the final result. -
The first tech that came to my house, Sean, was extremely unprofessional in his interaction with me. His aeration of my lawn was not performed correctly at all. After a phone call to TG Eddie Perez was sent to my home and did an excellent job. He was knowledgeable, professional and did a great job aerating my lawn. Eddie Perez is who you want to be a representative of your company. Not Sean. I would never allow him back on my property. Again, Eddie Perez was excellent. Thank you for sending him. If you want to discuss Sean with me I would be happy to speak to a member of management.

Since this was the 2nd service I had with TruGreen I was expecting a highly professional experience. My first treatment was perfection in every way. This time around, I am considering canceling my account.
My tech, Timothy Strong, when arrived had already marked my service as COMPLETED before he even started the work! I have video footage of them arriving at my door, 1 min AFTER my service was put into your system as completed.
I have never done a job and completed it before I even begin. Just not possible.
On top of that, there were still weeds present in the yard that have grew since the last treatment. But there was NO action on the tech part to even consider treating them.
I am paying TruGreen to treat my yard, if I wanted half-done work, I could get the kid down the street to do this, not a company that prides itself on having a partnership with the PGA!
Also, the treatment he laid down was spread all across my driveway and patio, with no consideration to clean up or attempt to leave my yard as they found it.
On top of that, my service receipt was a WADDED-UP BALL OF PAPER stuffed inside the envelope. As I stated, my 1st treatment, was perfection, the techs who did it made me glad I went with TruGreen over the others. This was a nightmare to see an employee perform their duty with such lackluster energy.
TruGreen has really let me down here, and the more I think about it, the more I believe I WILL cancel my plan. -
I have been a customer of TruGreen for several years. Our yard is very nice. (My wife loves working in the yard) That said, service seemed pretty good but nothing special. So it has been an easy option to keep the service. Today I found out that our auto payment did not process. I called to make a manual payment and, of course, they accepted it on the phone. The kicker is they proactively canceled my account. I understand that they can't work for free but it would have taken just one phone call to clear up. Plus the customer service person that accepted my payment was very unprofessional. I was informed that given that non-payment I would have to apply to get my service reinstated. Keep in mind that I have been a customer for several years. Let's just say I am in the market for a new yard service. By the way, I do get frequent calls trying to get me to sign up for an extra service.

Eddie P arrived when he said he would and explained the aeration service we were to receive and answered all of my questions in a professional and respectful manner. He took great care to not damage any of my sprinkler heads which I had flagged before his arrival and even made sure our sidewalks were cleaned off before he left. Great service and I highly recommend it.

BEWARE OF THEIR DECEPTIVE SALES TEAM. I was recently scammed by a member of the sales team. Jim offered me services at a discount/free when not authorized to do so just to get a commission. Now I'm signed up for a service I didn't even want AND am being charged for it. He also texted me from what I'm now guessing is a personal cell phone in order to pressure me and ensure I spoke ONLY with him and not a different sales rep who would have told me what he was offering wasn't possible. Took my payment over the phone and I didn't realize until the service already begun.

Jaylene, Knocked on the door to let us know he arrived! We walked around outside to show him where to apply as we are treating a small part of our 15 acres around the home. He completed this task promptly.

My landscape looks amazing!!
I just wanted to drop a quick note to thank Michelle Cooper and the entire TruGreen Team for the exceptional customer service and communication! Seriously, they are fantastic partners and continue to exceed my expectations.
Michelle's quick responses and clear communication have been a game-changer. It's refreshing to work with someone who's so on the ball.
Mr. Dobraski -
Specialist Andre Mattox was very knowledgeable and provided great tips! I wish he and Mr Bronson could be assigned to my home going forward. Great customer service!

The TruGreen tech arrived within the designated timeline I was given. He spoke with me before the work began, and after it was completed. He was professional, and told me what to expect regarding my lawn and its treatment. He also told me what I should do if I did not see results within a given period of time. I was pleased with today’s application, and the technician who provided the service.

Tried scheduling lawn mowing and pest control service with them but as most other companies out there, you have to go through a robo caller. The call is not routed to the proper service team or if its routed to someone, they just put you on hold indefinitely. It certainly shouldn't be this hard to schedule as simple service.

Great service today. I visited with Brishyde. He genuinely listened and cared. He also took great care for our property while dragging hoses around. Thank you!

TruGreen is true to their words. My lawn is looking 90% better with just two treatments. Get your lawn did by TruGreen, you will be happy with their service.

My review not showing so will try again. We have three services with TruGreen so really don't know the agents coming out other than name on e-mail notice. They do show up and really only downside was weeds which last few years seems have done nothing. This year they have come out couple extra times trying to help with weeds. Problem is the pricing high and though I have recommended them to many homes here many go to local cheaper company! All the money we spend each year you would think our yard would be one of the best but doesn't happen.
